The first/second curtain makes you flash fires after shutter open or just before shutter close, respectively. That doesn't give fill flash.

second curtain is a kind of sync flash where the flash fires at the end of the exposure. The first curtain flash fires at the start when the exposure curtains open.

Try yourself to know how fill flash works. Enter P mode. Press menu, turn on Synchro Flash. The difference is, the flash is not harsh on the object, and you can still see the background. Without fill flash, the background will not be visible and the object looks plastic.

i think if u using this.. the subject need to be stand still (a bit).. camera tend to lower the shutter speed.. (since in P mode u can't control the shutter speed n apperture)..

correct me if i'm wrong
