One question: If I want to use Who Says plan, do I need to perform a plan switch? How to do so?

The two confusing and frustating card system - Network and Airtime. If you want to ensure that your line won't be cancelled, you must reload the Network portion. sweat.gif

I'm using X-pax Lite Plan. I'm wondering why there's a difference between the SMS rate:

23/01/2008 08:20:30 SMS MO MAXIS 012xxxxxxx -0.15
23/01/2008 01:09:18 SMS MO MAXIS 012xxxxxxx -0.20

The only difference I noticed is that one is sent in the mdnight and the other is sent in the morning.

Anybody could explain? SMS rate isn't flat? Categorized into peak and non-peak too?

Celcom targets youths

KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom (Malaysia) Bhd targets to strengthen its penetration in the central territory market as well as in the youth segment.

Chief executive officer Datuk Sri Shazalli Ramly said, "We have realigned our market and territory principally in the youth segment below 25 years old and the federal territory where our penetration is the lowest.

"We are targeting an incentive sales target of approximately one million subscribers below 25 years old to compete head-on in the youth market by year-end."

Shazalli said Celcom is "collapsing" the boundaries between the post-paid and pre-paid sectors and is focusing on growth in its various segments.

Speaking at the launch of Celcom Sale Campaign during the Nationwide Key Dealers Conference 2008, Shazalli said the group is now "gaining momentum" to develop its market share after being occupied with the integration of Celcom into Telekom Malaysia Bhd for the past three years.

"We would focus on 'on-ground' promotion this year that emphasises distribution through outlets," he said, noting the group hoped to rebuild its sales network.

Currently, Celcom has 550 outlets nationwide including Celcom branches, key dealers, Blue Cube outlets and micro kiosks in shopping malls.

To begin with, the telecommunication service provider has engaged 500 of its outlets to participate in its first-of-its-kind Sale Campaign that would kick off from Feb 1 and go on till March 31.

Celcom unveils latest postpaid package

KUALA LUMPUR: Celcom (M) Bhd expects 10% to 20% of its existing postpaid users to migrate to its new postpaid package, Executive Plan, marketing senior vice-president Zalman Aefendy said.

"The plan is in line with the Celcom sales campaign and is tailored to suit the needs of all Celcom customers," he said.

The Executive Plan offered a low monthly fee of RM50 and up to 30% discount on local calls and SMSes, he said after launching the package yesterday.

As at September last year, Celcom's customer base stood at 6.72 million, of whom 1.21 million were postpaid customers and 5.51 million pre-paid.

It currently has the widest network coverage of the country's populated areas at 97%.

"For the new plan, we are targeting professionals and business owners who are 25 years old and above," Zalman said, adding that these working adults included the blue and white-collared workers who spent more than RM50 monthly.

Celcom is offering new customers a sign-up bonus with a total 60 minutes' worth of call time and 60 free SMS for the first six months.

Ending March 31, the two-month Celcom campaign offers discounts on Nokia, Motorola and Sony Ericsson phones, BlackBerry devices and USB modems.

Zalman said customers could register for the new plan at all Celcom branches and appointed retailers nationwide, including Blue Cube outlets.

On the new plan, CEO Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly said: "We want to break the market trend with a new postpaid concept that does not predetermine our customer's choice with various commitment plans.

"This single call plan focuses on value and savings instead of tariffs."

For Celcom prepaid, upgrading to 256K 3G USIM is not available, it's only for replacement purpose.

Quoted from Celcom website. There's a table to illustrate possible upgrade and replacement for different type of users (< 1 year of usage and > 1 year of usage).
