This is probably sign of instability, try to lower down ur oc settings  shocking.gif

auto restart may due to high temp too

hmm, temps are pretty high though, 70C dry.gif
can't make the heatsink to sit lower or else might solve the problem..........

Performance per watt...true lar.. Conroe cannot be touched except by Merom tongue.gif

I just took some measurements at the mains... My current spec (as per siggy) running stock with C1E and IEST enabled:

Idle --> 160W
Prime load --> 202W

Compared with my Winchester at 2.4Ghz CnQ on..DFI Ultra D..both vcore and vdimm also got add.....rest of the spec being same..

Idle --> 121W
Prime load --> 161W

ps: Damn..and I was planning to save electricity. doh.gif
*
Haha, guess what, my electric bill increased by 70 bucks after I start OC-ing my baby, guess I can't run on OC-ed settings 24/7 now.

guys, i enabled eist and c1e, but the clock doesn't seem to be throttling down at all............even after 10 minutes not moving any at all
any idea wat happen?
is it because i already set the vcore manually that it won't throttle down?
*
EIST only throttle the multiplier thus affecting clock speed. FSB frequency is untouched though.

ahhh........no wonder
but the speed will throttle back to fullspeed base on workload right?
*
Yupz, it reduces the dissipation of heat as well.

ok, thx
but the heat dissipation now isn't residing for the moment though(probably the damn weather too)
*
More heat dissipation = More energy wastage = Higher electric bills = Bigger hole in your pocket

See the relationship/consequences? whistling.gif

QUOTE(Bliz @ Sep 28 2006, 01:35 AM)
The Intel Speedstep is not working very well at all, compare to AMD 1 can throttle down about 1ghz from the default speed. Last time i OC my 3000+ to 2.25ghz then idle only running at 1ghz, this intel 1 only decrease the multiplier by 1, like no effect  tongue.gif
*
This is because E6300 has multipliers (6-7) where 6 is the lowest possible. For other conroe models, guess they have larger range of downwards throttling compared to E6300.

eehh...i need some asnwer...lol
i just bought c2d yesterday ....
today i check my cpuz my core speed is 1600 ?
y lidat ?
*
If yours is an E6300, it's due to the EIST feature that lower the multiplier when your processor is idle.

C2duo cpu hot not if compare to AMD x2?
*
If OC it, sure hot la whistling.gif

Btw, AFAIK C2D is hotter when compared to the correspond model of AMD x2 as the IHS of most (or maybe just a few batch) C2D procesors are concaved thus resulting in poor heat conductivity to the heatsink.

I am getting about 68C+ on full load on stock heatsink. If you look in the SuperPi 1M overclocking database, you will have some sort of indication of the temps you should get when overclocked.  jarofclay is on stock heatsink even though his chip is at 3.9GHz+.  Sniperontheroof was using 1.65V for his 4GHz overclock and still no 80C temp.  1.65V is super high, and it should be quite toasty - but still no 80C.  And they are all living in Malaysia.

Gengstapo, is the ventilation in the case good?

I don't think you can.  You can probably guess, but to be absolutely sure, you have to take a look under the heatspreader.  What DDR do you have blaxez?
*
Corsair VS 667, as far as I know, the chips are square in shape, I don't want to remove the heatspreader as the thermal tape looks quite fragile and don't want to ruin it.
