QUOTE(ddww @ Oct 14 2006, 12:22 AM) 1.45Vcore, and thats just for SPI benchmarking Acually the ds3 still got a bug they havent fix, when ever you set the fsb end with xx5, it will auto droped to xx4, eg 475-> 474, 495->494 I set 495fsb in BIOS and it become 494fsb for me, F7 is the best BIOS for ds3 so far. I tested F4 and F6, both BIOS wont allow me to break the 475fsb wall. Evogenix |

just re-mod my ds3, got alots of pictures coming up
changed my water cooling pump to swiftech MCP655, lets see how this baby gonna do with my setup. btw, I found out that the yellow ram slot is more overclockable than the orange slot. I cant stable at 480fsb with orange slot, but can prime with the same setting on yellow slot Evogenix |

QUOTE(king99 @ Oct 15 2006, 09:36 PM) So any good cooling solution to reduce my 70c to 65c and below (currently use stock)How the result with water cooling ? you already knew the answer for your asked question (and you stated the cause as well There is no fixed results for watercooling. Its all based on your configuration setup. For my self customized WC set, i get 5-10C lower than my previos air cooling (Thermalright xp120) Evogenix |

If I not mistaken, the ET5 read the temp sensor from the board while TAT/ CoreTemp read it directly from the core. Thats why ET5 got lower around 10C if compared with TAT/ CoreTemp.
So, for more accurate temp reading, use TAT/ CoreTemp instaed of ET5. Btw, please dont keep asking, "Which 1 do you think more accurate... TAT or CoreTemp???" The CoreTemp just 2-3C higher than TAT, which make no diff to me. If you want a 99.5%+ accurate temp reading, get a temp sensor, and place it ontop your proc, thats it. For those that dont know what I'm taking, here is a pic. Dear amok, pinjam pic ya... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « (All my temp reading are refered to CoreTemp) "And whats the safe temp to run your C2D???" If you benchmarking, I dont think 70C will kill your proc in a few minutes. But, for long runs, eg 24/7 folding, its better to remind you temp around 60-65C (of coz, if you can get lower its better). Whats the BEST Vcore for C2D??? There is no BEST Vcore for you. Just start from 1.325Vcore and increase the voltage when your oc-ing is not stable. for 24/7 running, its recommanded to run VCore < 1.5v, benchmarking <1.6v. The best solution for you to find out whats the temp you gonna stick with is, Look at your core temp reading. If you felt its enuff for your setting, then stop increasing the Vcore, coz QUOTE Increasing Vcore = Increasing Proc's Temp Evogenix This post has been edited by Evogenix: Oct 16 2006, 10:49 AM |

For me, I just continue the oc-ing without clearing the CMOS (unless the self-booting continuly wont stop for 5 minutes, then reset your CMOS). I encounter the F7 BIOS stuck me in the self-booting progress and wont start my PC, I just reset CMOS. Thats all, problem solved.p/s: for DS3 users hw do u reset to default setting whn oc failed? clear cmos? any alternative? @threadstarter add me to the bottom of the list..i'll begin climbing up [attachmentid=145191] 400 x 7 @ 1.325vcore (bios set) vdimm + 0.2 @ 4-4-4-10 dunno wat wat all add +0.1v ram is kvr ddr533 512mb x 2 proc cooled wif hyper 48 w/ vantec uv led 92mm |

QUOTE(siauann @ Oct 18 2006, 12:06 AM) yeah..i believe normally is 1.325v you can try every Vdimm that available and find which of it suitable for your RAM. I dont think 2.5Vdimm can kill the RAM that easy hw much vdimm highest do u thk a kvr can withstand? scared to pump too much #edited: hw many of DS3 users here stil stick wif F6 bios? i thk F6 and F7 is the same rite? just tat F7 can support quad? for me F7 increased my oc-ing capability, I saw some ppl felt F6 better than F7. So, its better to try your self out, and make your own decision on which BIOS fit you better. Evogenix This post has been edited by Evogenix: Oct 18 2006, 12:44 AM |
