Hmm honestly risk of damage aside, 3rd party toys are not exactly safe. Like feral rex's sword can definitely poke an eye out. So i'll say for now, no definitely not 3rd party. I do allow my daughter to use my Hasbro/Takara collections (not MP) to play though. Lol she uses the cars to ferry around her Littlest Pet Shops. My two toddler kids, will have to see how it goes.

TLDR; for now, 3rd party is off limits to kids mainly for safety and cost issues.
*
Nice. I'm waiting patiently for my kids to be old enough to play with TF.

That will give me an excuse to buy figures I wouldn't otherwise buy, lol...

So fast? Where did you get it?

And is it any better than the first two in terms of plastic quality, transformation, etc?

to be honest, with more and more releases, i'm beginning to think warbotron isnt that fantastic. my complain is that the plastic is too soft, and the transformations, while pretty decent, makes you stress the plastic too much.

sly strike's chest will GUARANTEE to stress if you transform him to his jeep, even ONCE
*
I felt the same from the moment I got Heavy Noisy (don't have Air Burst or Sly Strike yet so can't comment on those).

The transformation, engineering and plastic quality are unrefined at best.

In fact it's not even fun to transform because of the stress you're forced to put on the plastic. Pulling out the arms for instance: freaking scary!

And I guess this is kinda nitpicking... but the bad English on the packaging and documentation (e.g. "SEREGEANT") just feels like a poor reflection on the company's attention to detail. How can they let that slide when they know thousands of their customers are English speakers?

The one saving grace for me are the aesthetics of the bot and alt modes. These things look pretty damn good.

As HxiiiK said hopefully the combined mode will be worth it in the end. Or at least good enough to display, because I'll never want to take it apart once it's done.

To tickle your fancy, the manual for old MPs until MP-08 actually had "The Transfomers" instead of The Transformers at the back cover. Hard to notice but it's there...so in comparison "Seregeant" isn't really as bad as spelling the name of the franchise wrong  whistling.gif

LOL I never noticed... and yeah that's definitely worse shakehead.gif

bro where did you see it...49 is like almost half price lol
*
Falcon's Hangar and Robo Robo are both selling Jetfire for SGD80.

Price discrepancy cannot be so high on a brand new figure.

kaizer3000 either saw wrongly... or the shop accidentally displayed the wrong price... or the shop owner has gone insane tongue.gif

u sure hasbro will release this??
I know Hasbro will try release as much G1 Masterpieces as possible (with sleek design)...while 3rd party companies will release Giant Robot-like designs (bulky design)...like predaking n Devastator..

Prolly 3rd party will release this Star Saber...

btw, issit just me or this Star Saber reminds u of Macross plane designs? haha whistling.gif
*
It's no secret that this will be an official release.

Takara ran a survey asking people to vote on the Masterpiece they want. Star Saber won.

Place your bets gentlemen.

My guess would be somewhere around the Ultra Magnus price range, but slightly higher... maybe RM600+?

I like the Masterpiece and Generations line most because my love for Transformers is a boiling pot of nostalgia and admiration for the engineering + aesthetics.

As a 30-year-old man, I personally find it hard to get excited by most of the new stuff. The new cartoons especially are way too simplistic and kiddish for me. In fact even watching old G1 reruns often makes me cringe. The memories are clearly sweeter than the reality.

The only thing that still holds up for me is the original animated movie. The animation quality. Optimus Prime's sacrifice. So many of my favorite characters dying in violent ways. It pretty much evolved my expectations for what a cartoon should be.

Oh, and some of the IDW fiction is pretty solid too.

Got Generations Roadbuster in the mail:

user posted image

THE GOOD:
* Good looking + proportionate robot and alt mode. Nice enough to make me glad I never blew RM400 on Warbot Revolver.
* Love the color scheme and paint apps. There's something 'dirty' looking about it that really fits with the character.
* Modular and combinable weapons are lots of fun. So many possibilities.
* Speaking of weapons, his spring loaded rifle shoots surprisingly far (I almost got shot in the eye).

THE BAD:
* Poor balance. Some have pointed out folding in the feet helps, but he still doesn't stand very well.
* Transformation is a little too simple for a voyager, and he seems a little small (about the same height as MP Prowl).
* Subpar headsculpt. Also weird that it has light piping, which is then painted over.
* Workmanship: mine has one floppy shoulder hinge and a gun whose peg doesn't fit anywhere. A touch of super glue and some sanding down was required.

THE 50/50:
* The stickers. I like the detail it adds to the figure, especially from afar. But some of the stickers are too big for their panels, which makes them feel like an afterthought. Wish at least the Autobot/Wreckers Insignia had been painted on.
* Articulation is decent in some parts, but the lack of wrists and fingers feels lazy.

Overall pretty happy with this figure.

7/10

What's your opinion on Mania King?

I love the look but the scale is off for me. If he was the same size as MP09 it would be an instabuy...

OT: Considering hauling a RM400 AT-AT Walker..really tempting!

RM359 is original price right? How much did you pay after member discount?

On Rakuten Acid Storm is RM259:

pretty decent figure, but with its share of pros and cons

pros:
- being the only G1 faithful galvatron figure in the market now (with the exception of vintage G1 figures), mania king fills the gap for those who want a galvatron in their collection
- transformation is complex enough to be interesting, but you probably need to watch youtube videos of the transformation if the instructions are not clear enough for you
- very nice cannon mode
- comes with lights! mine is the laser pointer version
- decent enough plastic quality, with some really sharp edges
- ratchet joints for the shoulders which gives stability to the arms. probably a good thing since you have the cannon attachment which would probably be heavy if and reduce poseability of the arms without the ratchet joints

cons:
- due to the way the forearms transform and the lack of wrist articulation, the arms only pivot sideways giving galvatron monkey arms
- lack of ratchet joints in the legs reduces stability slightly, but not enough to make the figure unstable. he is still very poseable.
- the size. this figure is as tall as henkei prime, meaning if you put him next to MP rodimus, mania king is short. but as a standalone voyager sized figure, he's pretty nice.

+1 for the Function series. Small but amazingly engineered headmasters with probably the best build quality I've ever seen on any TF.

(Also pretty damn expensive for what you get.)

Can't wait for Sigma.

Need some here. Has anyone sighted acid storm in tru in klang valley? Check a few stores but they have been sold out. Can PM me if you have sighted any?

Would appreciate ur help!

If you don't mind buying online, you can get from the TRU store on Rakuten.com.my

Otherwise I guess you can try calling up some of the less busy stores... like Plaza Damas. The newly opened Jaya Shopping Center also has a TRU.

Same here but I wish we can have both with the Fansproject headmasters.

Right now they're nice to look at and play with, but a lil hard to display due to the size.

Random thought for a quiet day:

I have never seen a female TF collector in my life. Not a single one.
