Checked out the new TF movie lineup at TRU the other day.

The best thing about this new wave is how much money one can save by NOT buying.

Everything is just wrong... the packaging, the price, the engineering sad.gif

Only thing semi worth getting is the deluxe Dinobots.

Maybe it really is time to look at third party, lol...

Community announcement:

Went to 1 Utama just now. Aeon is having a toy fair at the old wing concourse.

They're already selling wave 2. Got myself a Deluxe Strafe, but it's running out fast.

Also spotted Deluxe Slash & Drift.

Did not notice Voyager Hound, but I didn't look thoroughly enough.

As a bonus, all TF are 10% off smile.gif

The TF movie franchise makes me embarrassed to be a TF fan.

The only good thing about Bay is how he's willing to kill off characters, just like the original 80's movie.

And even then, he sabotages this decision by creating almost zero characterization for the robots...

So you don't even care when they die. Even the robots themselves don't show any emotion when their comrades die.

Hoping for a reboot. New director, new creative direction, new everything...

If a film reboot ever does happen, I reckon IDW's All Hail Megatron could be an interesting storyline to tackle, with some changes of course.

It's got that cinematic quality to it, the stakes are high, and it's not too bogged down in nerdy lore.

And anyway, after Bay, the only way they could possibly go is up...

Just got my self a Hasbro Masterpiece Prowl in Toysrus for around rm400 after using coupons but i also get few more coupons so it's quite worth it.

They also have Sunstorm.
*
No matter how many coupons you have, why would you use them to get this overpriced Prowl... when you can get a Takara one for RM180?

AOE review seen on Facebook:

QUOTE
"Go to your nearest toy store. Buy 2 toy robots, 1 toy dinosaur, and 1 Barbie doll. Tie them all to a bunch of fireworks, and light them up. Marvel at all the pretty explosions. For 3 hours.

Congratulations, you’ve basically already watched Transformers: Age of Extinction."

Does anyone know where to find MP3 Starcream in Malaysia? I dont mind other colours as long as it isnt Acid Storm.
*
There's a Takara Coronation Starscream reissue coming out early next year.

I preordered mine from primocollectibles.com for RM440+.

You can also check out Toys R Us, they recently stocked Hasbro MP Sunstorm. Also RM400+.

IMO if you don't have any MP Seekers yet, better go for the Starscream. More iconic character, more potential value in future. But also a longer wait blush.gif

I actually found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com.my/itm/Transformers-Ma...=item462309b44d

Worth buying that one? Damn tempted to pick up one now as I like the anime colours version of the MP Starscream.

Takara Coronation Starscream on primocollectables.com is sold out atm though. I have been looking for a MP Starscream since the original one is out. Just didnt buy one because of the high price a few years back.

I almost bought the Hasbro MP Soundwave last time as I really like the quality of the mold.

Tempted to start collecting MP transformers, despite I am collecting costly die cast cars now.
*
Looks cool, the only reason I'd be a little worried about getting that first edition one is because of how old it is.

MP-3 came out back in 2006... so unless this is a reissue, that would make this box 8 years old. Not sure what condition the plastic will be in.

(Maybe some TF sifus here can comment better on plastic degradation.)

About Primo Collectibes - you can try emailing them and just say you want to preorder. I also ordered mine when the site said sold out.

I checked the Wiki, the more cartoon accurate version is out in 2007 to 2008 but yea, it is still damn old.

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Starscream_%28G1%29...s#MasterpieceUS

Still, I am not too concern about the plastic as plastics are made to last for a long long time. They probably wont degrade in a few years time. I used to have a few G1 to Beast Wars transformers back then where I collected since I was 7, even after 15 years, they are still fine till now. Until my mum donated them to charity. doh.gif

I have been reading about the quality of the transformer, I heard that Takara MP's plastic is a bit more fragile than the Hasbro version, is it true?
*
Based on the packaging, it seems that the one you pointed out on ebay is the 2006 version.

Because according to the article you linked to, the 2007-2008 edition would have come in a different box.

If I were you, I'd still wait a few months for the coronation reissue. For around the same price, you get a fresh new piece. Plus all those extra accessories.

Also, this 2006 Starscream mould was previously updated in 2012 (e.g. the null rays no longer need to be detached for transformation).

And from the reviews I've read, most people agree that the updates made it a significantly better figure.

upgrade mold looks awesome but plastic quality worse than old ver

The upcoming 2015 reissue is not even out yet, how to know if the plastic is better or worse?

But definitely agree the paint job is better on the old one.

I'm thinking of testing out some 3rd party TFs, Masterpiece line is moving too slow for me.

Apart from all the combiners, what are some of the more recent 3p must haves?

Thank you folks...

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Terminus Hexatron does look good. Now to decide between the normal or the stealth version...

I don't know the full CloneDroid story, but I don't want to support a company that steals someone else's mould.

(I know Hexatron itself is a Sixshot ripoff, but at least they made their own mould.)

No matter how tempting it is...

Always say NO to KO flex.gif

Well, i didn't say Klondroid is the good guy here...what i mean is that they don't just copy exact and put on the shelf pretending as actual MMC releases.

I appreciate MMC's effort to update a G1 figure and i strongly think their not sixshot is very good. You have to admit though if it's not because of a fictional character created by the Transformers franchise, it wouldn't mean anything to us right...and that MMC is not giving Hasbro, licensee of Transformers any credit.
*
Yup that's true. Like I said earlier, Hexatron itself is already a ripoff.

But it boils down to personal boundaries.

To me, Clonedroid's act of stealing a mould and 'upgrading' it is far worse than MMC using Sixshot's likeness for their own original mould.

You can disagree if you like - in the end we just vote with our wallets!

Has generations voyager roadbuster reached our shores?
*
Also curious about this man. Official release date is supposed to be July sometime right?

Roadbuster + Brainstorm are insta-buys for me.

Jetfire is 50/50, gonna wait on the reviews first.

I was trying to retire from TF, stick to just a few MP figures... but these new Generations figures are just too tempting...

I could use some dinos.. but if like causality then it will be roughly deluxe sized.. still not so into spending 200 over for something so small but we'll see.. maybe they could really wow so i'd feel better about missing out on caelus
*
Amen to not wanting to spend RM200+ on such a small figure.

The transformation for this guy blew my mind (and so did the price):

Preorder for Roadbuster is out here:

http://www.toypanic.com/toy.aspx?p=3070

Stock estimated arriving in December 2014.

But RM137? Shouldn't this line be around RM110+? Especially for a preorder?
