Update..I visited the stores and are dissapointed with the details..its doesn't look like anything from the movies..

I think u guys got me wrong here, I don't want the toys to transform, I want like action figure transformers which has good detailing for collection, like the iron man action figure etc etx sorry I didn't mentioned to you guys earlier smile.gif

The toys in rakuten is good, but its looks and detail is far away from the movie..
*
If you dont want them to transform, I doubt there will be many transformer to suit your taste.

Since you want good detailing, better look further up from general movie line with stuff like Takara Tomy's DMK series.

Masterpiece transformers does look quite good.

I have one and I use it more like a collectables than transforming it all the time.

Or some third parties that put more effort into detailing, like Perfect Effect.

Heard the detailing of PE figurines are good but you have to pay quite a lot to get a fairly small figurine.

rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif I am so touched got ppl take Animated as their favourite line. Animated line is very good in terms of quality, engineering, aesthetic and playability all in.
*
They do look really dumb at a glance but once you played with it, man, it feels like I am a kid of something because how well the toy is designed.

I love Animated Starscream, Grimlock, Lugnut(its damn fun to transform him) and Grimlock.

QUOTE(jing_kohkoh @ Aug 1 2014, 10:57 PM)
Blackout I got when it was released, already know Animated line was dying so quickly grab whatever that came out/
I only missed out swindle, and skipped snarl, soundwave, wreckgar, oilslick and jetfire.
Now I kinda want to make it more complete by getting snarl and soundwave. tongue.gif Two short and fat fellas.
*
Keep your Animated Blackout properly. Apparently it was quite limited run where a second hand lose Blackout is selling for RM500 on eBay while a MISB one is more than RM600.

I am treating mine better than my Masterpiece.

I was there last week, I didnt see Bulkhead and Soundwave bundle.

Only got Deluxe Prime and Deluxe Megatron, Prowl and Lockdown or Bumblebee and Starscream.

i got mine from robotkingdom

How much was shipping though?

I dont really trust poslaju in delivering the product without destroying it though. I rather find a store and buy straight from them.

Famitoy said they are stocking both Assault Force and Warden but till now, they still dont have stock.

Thats Perfect Effect PE-12 Assault Force X.

Should be around RM300 but they are really tiny though. The engineering is pretty damn amazing though.

I never bought a third party so at the moment it is either Maketoy's Chaos/Paladin or PE's Assault Force X as my first purchase to third party. I think it is better to get something slightly cheaper than buying a third party RM500+ figurine outright.

To me, Assault Force is better if I have to choose between the two.
*
Assault Force is cool because I dont think any other third party does Reflector. And the engineering is pretty cool. My only problem is the size which is damn small.

Coming from diecast collector background, I do appreicate the extra polish PE does for their transformers.

QUOTE(jhcj @ Aug 5 2014, 11:15 AM)
But there are other third party figures out there which are better than these two. For example, fanproject's function series
*
What would you recommend from Fans Project? What is the Function series known for?

I am not too keen of combiners or really expensive ones.

QUOTE(jhcj @ Aug 5 2014, 11:15 AM)
robotkingdom's packaging is quite solid, they will use styrofoam to pad the insides of the carton, so your items should be quite safe.

as for the shipping, you can see the shipping quote before you place the order.
*
Ah, maybe i'll give robotkingdom a shot.

The website has quite a few broken links though.

fansproject function series is their take on the G1 Headmasters.

I think I'll pass. They are really good transformers but I think PE and Maketoys products will suit me better.

I don't really want to collect a series as I know I won't be able to resist the temptation to find and collect all. Kinda avoiding the Dinobots combiners for the same reason. They look damn good though. sad.gif

Where did you get yours?

I am thinking of picking one up too.

Review please. Is the tank "alt" model really that hard to transform? How is the joint between the headmaster and the robot? Heard it is a bit fragile.

Just when I made up my mind for Assault Force X, then, I saw this:

God damn it, why does this keep happening to me? Preorder up at x2o toys for RM330.

I know a lot of collectors recommended Fans Project, would you think their dinobots will be a good collector items? How are the build quality of their Function series?

Note, the regular version looks a bit different, like the chrome gold parts are colored as gold only.

i rank fansproject and maketoys as the top 2 third party makers in terms of quality and design.

the regular version of the LER-01 doesnt have the chrome colored parts. that one is botcon exclusive version.
*
What about Perfect Effect? Are they good or they did not produce enough products or overpriced?

Fans Project Dinobots is really tempting. Looks pretty damn good for its size.

I prefer the non chrome parts version. Kinda worried that the chrome will fall of eventually.

perfect effect i'm neutral, partly because they dont have much that interests me. but whatever PE items that i have, are pretty decent.
*
Thanks.

Considering your and a few other forumer's recommendation on FP, I guess i might go with FP's Sludge then. I cant really justify the cost for the Reflectors and I find PE is quite overpriced for what they offer. Warden and Assault Force X are pretty damn good looking but they are quite pricey despite their designs and quality are top notch.

FP's Not-Sludge scales decently with Warden so I can get him sometime down the line but they dont scale well with MP though.

If I'm not wrong, he is kinda a mix of fort max'shead, a G1 headmaster and idw's version of fort max with the tank tracks at the back.

Tempting to get one.

Pv warden is nice...  but such a parts former

I actually dont mind getting a partsformer. Their polishing is pretyy damn close to diecast standards.

Feel like buying one now but feel like getting FP's Sludge first.
