At the rate of this thread, can we ask Mod to create a sub-forum just for MKB? This will spread even more poison around... or maybe all keyboard warriors (Rubber dome included)?

No need.
the sub forum will become a thread where people just ask and go.
rather than a community.

Well, the subforums can have fan club threads for Filco, Ducky, Voxter, mainstream brands like Corsair and CM. Then mod threads for people who mod. One for Topre. Hao only thread for KMAC/LZ/Orion/Ergodox. And of course a MKB recommendation thread.

counting the submariners, the community is big enough. adding in all the razer MKB fanboys, and that will be plenty enough. but most submariners would stay hidden. hehe.

Unless submariners (like me) can float up to the surface of the water and actively join in the discussion. Then its possible. rclxms.gif

That's what I hate.
Who cares about fan club threads. It's really useless.

If you want to talk about switches, then that's something.

In all seriousness though, specific threads about switches and brands should be avoided.
There should be threads about:
How to mod keyboards
How to get stuff from Taobao
Recommendation of keyboards RM0-100
Recommendation of keyboards RM100-200
so on and so forth.

Brands should be avoided entirely.

The only reason for brands to have places where people using the same MKB can discuss and trade ideas. It's not about ooh, I have a Vortex, I'll now join this thread for fun. That will probably occur but it allows a place where people with similar MKBs can trade ideas.

Well, thats why I said have mod threads. How to deal with PCBs, switches and the like. More for poeple who buy individual parts and build it themselves.

Recommendation threads are a given. Good place to get people started with MKBs.

You can refer to existing brand threads.
Useless.

They talk about how long their stuff take to ship, then complain when it does not arrive.
Sometimes it's nice to share the prices, but put that in some Great finds thread, or for that matter, just create one if you see a great deal.

What ideas do you want to share?

Ohh i bought a bling bling logitech Mechanical keyboad. Most expensive evar. Please add me to the namelist

Can i put unicorn vomit LED on my ducky Model 123?
Why not create a thread on LED modding. if someone wants to make a guide for specific keyboards, then do it.

Does red on orange keycaps looks good on my White CM Bling bling keyboard?
The same applies for Bling Bling corsair, and bling bling ducky.
why not just create a thread on "keycaps ideas"

The "A" key on my Ducky don't work, how to fix.
This is the same that would apply for other brands of keyboards

My FILCO koyak already how to RMA, my seller sudah gulung tikar.
This does not happen all the time, and just get the person to start a new thread on this

Not trying to over categorize things, but just wanting to put forth my point that Brand threads are pointless.
Please tell me in what situations where a brand thread is absolutely needed.

Brand threads create unnecessary streaming and posts that are mostly unhelpful.

I don't really support breaking into further sub-forums, splitting some of forums to sub-forums tend to just kill the small community there over time.

*Bout cleaning keycaps with denture tabs previously, I gotten some but it is those with whitening capability (Pearlie White), any ideas if this would spoil my black Ducky keycaps?

Whitening will be too hot for keycaps? If so, then I guess I will just go buy the polident ones instead. Bought wrongly, hahaha.

That's why I said it will probably occur, and Of course opening too many sub threads will probably dilute the whole idea but nothing wrong with micro communities with idea sharing. Mods, keycaps, LEDs, whatever, could served as inspirations.

For brand threads, Would be perfect to call in brand reps to run those threads and answers questions or give product launch announcements. We don't have to open thread for every single brand out there anyways. MKBs is more towards mods anyways.

Again, this is all an idea. Nothings happening yet. You don't like it. I do. We agree to disagree. smile.gif

What he meant was, don't use the denture tabs on hot water. The temperature of the water slightly warm.
You can use the denture tab you bought, no need go and buy polident.
