Hi

But Unifi business packages are is too expensive and i need atlist 5 IP for some projects. like hosting my own server at home. Make some dedicated servers etc etc.

Anybody tell me which ISP company provide static IP in malaysia in a cheap price?

Kind regards

For home usage? Then it is going to be expensive.

I asked TM representation, they quote rm300 per month for extra 4 fixed IP. Thats so freaking expensive.. Now planning to use maxis fiber... the price for fixed IP on rm500 per YEAR...
but anyone use maxis broadband? hows their support?

I realized this is a very old thread (> 7 years) but I revisit this quite frequent on my search for fixed or static ip offers / development in Malaysia.

Frankly speaking, other than mail server which requires open port 25 in an ip address and public dns server which need fixed publix ip, one can run most of other types of servers (if not all others), even monitor their surveillance camera, from home with dynamic dns.

Malaysia telco's should race in selling ipv6 for cheaper price (not ipv4 which has become rarer this days), not only limited to business but even to home / personal broadband and help Malaysians venture more into the information and communication technology businesses that are more global (and bigger pie).

Unfortunately this fixed / static ip still not cheaply available in Malaysia though I can get two ipv4 and ipv6 buy renting two vps overseas for in about RM30 per month only.

It is truly sad to see Malaysia Government not supporting ICT development in this sense, really.

Nice to hear that. Can you share on how can I get that fixed ip too? Which local providers that sell it that cheap? You can pm me if you don't want to share it openly. By the way, I am using Time Broadband.

I think you mean vps hosting or something else with fixed ip. That is not what I meant because I do have hertzner vps account with fixed ip and it costs me less than RM15 per month. Anyway, thank you for the efforts @WongGei.

I think he want fixed IP like what Unifi offers.

https://unifi.com.my/business/biz/biz-addons-fixedip

And its quite high price, better buy a VPS/Server.

Haha.

Yes. A cost effective solution for having a fix ip is not renting from unifi but a cheaper local vps provider. They provide cheap vps and fast connection to local network compare to overseas vps provider.
Just build a vpn between your home network and the vps and you can serve the world with a cheap fix ip.

Well, Publix ip is not that easy. You can try to talk to them. Another vps provider is Shinjiru.

What kind of Static IP do you want? Is it a Static IPv6 or Static IPv4 ? I know Maxis gives a Static IPv6 free of charge as they have plenty of it but if you are looking for a Static IPv4 they charge a premium fee for every IPv4 address.

I obtained a /64 IPv6 address space for free from Maxis and my corporate website is accessible on IPv6 only.
