800 people cancelled their YSLM membership

Guang Ming Daily reported that about 800 members of the controversial multi-level marketing scheme YSLM, established by self-proclaimed Chinese millionaire Zhang Jian, cancelled their membership, according to a person in charge of the branch in Sri Petaling, Selangor.

However, the person claimed that the company accepted about 200 members every day in the last one month.

When a reporter from the daily visited the branch on Monday, there were no members in the shop.

For the branch in Puchong, the daily reported that the shop was not open on public holidays and the display items at the shop had been removed.

Some members of the controversial YSLM multi-level marketing business have expressed their desire to emulate its founder Zhang Jian and become temporary monks, reports Oriental Daily.

It is learnt that the members wanted to accompany Zhang Jian, a self-proclaimed Chinese millionaire, who is undergoing a 100-day temporary ordination programme at a temple in Thailand.

However, a member told the daily that Zhang, who knew the intention of the members, hoped they would instead focus on the YSLM business and only join him at the retreat after they had earned money.
