seems like we will see the better days of fd rate soon but those that serve loan will pay more.

BCC thanks for sharing
Correct to calculate as below? ((3.38/1.1) + 3.58 + 3.78 + 3.88 + 5.38)/5 = 3.939% |

QUOTE(xcxa23 @ Jun 20 2014, 11:20 AM) Imo, regardless of the effective rate, it's not worth it. Judging from the simplest calculation, Assuming capital 100k If 100% fd @3.7= 3700 If 80% fd 20% casa @4.5= 3600 Anyway it does sound too good to be true. Waiting for BCC to clarify, can't find more info on RHB site except the 15 months step up promo. |

BCC thx fir sharing.
it work out to be 1. 3.735% 2. 3.675% 3. 3.745% 4. 3.333% does not include interest gain in CASA amount and i remove the capital as soon as they are free to be released. (i.e. package 1 the 5% removed from capital after 3 months) Still a weird promo. better go for step up promo just 3 months more only. |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jun 26 2014, 08:34 AM) I am hoping for the OPR to change in July. If not, all 4 package also for 12 months, just different rate and holding period for CASA. Which is why it is weird Ha ha, with the RHB promo, BR cannot claim to have the highest FD rate, the 3 month rate is higher than BR's 3.6%. |

seems like RHB has improved their 15 months promo;
http://www.rhb.com.my/Whats_New/deposits/s...D/#.U7pHrZSSzyQ ((3.48/1.05) + 3.68 + 3.88 + 4.08 + 5.38))/5 = 4.067% First FD promo to breach 4% mark but 5% have to maintain in CASA for 90 days This post has been edited by bearbear: Jul 7 2014, 03:10 PM |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jul 7 2014, 03:16 PM) For these kind of promo, for example, where we need to maintain 5% in CASA for 90 days, do we need to manually go to the branch after 90 days to arrange transfer from CASA to FD or it is automatically done? I think cannot transfer from CASA to FD, the 5% can only withdraw?Easiest account to maintain should be as below; http://www.rhb.com.my/deposits/savings-acc...basic_main.html QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jul 7 2014, 03:17 PM) Thanks for calculating the effective rate ! regulars here can go challenge BR liao Wow, RHB FD is even better than BR's 15 month's 3.95%. Some more with PIDM. This post has been edited by bearbear: Jul 7 2014, 03:30 PM |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jul 7 2014, 05:02 PM) I see, thanks. So for RM10000, only RM9500 will go to FD. The remaining RM500 cannot be added up to the same FD account after the 90 days period. i think they don't split in 95:5 ratio;so to deposit 9.5k into FD, you need 475 in saving account. But ya, whatever in the CASA can't go back into your FD from what i understand. |

The FD accountholder and the CASA accountholder must be of the same party or in the case of joint account,
the FD and CASA primary accountholder must be of the same party as well. |

QUOTE(lowya @ Jul 8 2014, 09:04 AM) Customer is required to hold new funds in RHB Current / Savings Account (CASA) as prescribed in Clause 4. FD and CASA placement must be exercised on the same day. If the holding on the CASA account is uplifted, customer will not be entitled to the Promotion Rates. RHB reserves the right at its discretion to accord the FD Promotional Rate with our prevailing 3-month FD board rate respectively. Question is; is this for the 3 months rate or total 15 month all follow board rate. Also just realized you need to maintain CASA for 15 months as they deposit the interest every 3 months into CASA. I will wait until the D day only decide, maybe rate go higher again This post has been edited by bearbear: Jul 8 2014, 11:05 AM |
