QUOTE(ReaperOfSoul @ Apr 17 2014, 06:31 PM)
Hey guys,
I've allocated some money for my car and I have these options:

1) Change both front 13" tyres from the m3's to Michelin XM2 + do 4 doors soundproofing

2) Change all 13" tyres to Michelin xm2

3) Find used 14" saga rims + Michelin xm2 tyres

Suggestions? I don't want to compromise on comfort but I want the additional grip from the tyres. Will the change from silverstone to michelin give better tyre grip although they're of the same width? Thanks  notworthy.gif

been using XM1 n now using XM2. the sidewall tend to become 'gemuk' like insuffice air only after few months installed.
enibodi observe dis? Isit normal?

grip quite good, even in wet road/rain.

Discovered a 'secret' in reduce NVH of Saga.

I installed 4 spring buffers last Saturday. Immediately my car low frequency road roar -50% when ride on those worn tarmac road, heard by my ear, and can feel from my steering feedback, those micro vibration of the steering wheel just gone.

This answered my own speculation that Saga bad NVH is mainly contributed by suspension. The suspension can't absorb those tiny particles on the worn tarmac road, the micro vibration when the tyre ride on those surface is transmitted to car body to become a large resonant object through spring and absorber. I'm not sure is there any bush in between suspension topmount and car body or not, but by adding rubber coil spring buffer is just effectively deadening the vibration transmitted through spring to the body, hence stop the low frequency road roar.

Just share my experience, hope it helps those who want their ride quieter.

I switch from Continental CC5 to XM2 for almost 10 months now.

XM2 is never a silent tyre, its comfort level is overrated by forumer especially in Malaysia forum.
A bit regret to change to this tyre in terms of comfort. My cousin who using XM2 also same opinion as me.

But the thread wear is very good, now almost 26k, the tyre thread still have 70%, in other words i have to bare with this noisy tyre for long long time before change it. doh.gif

It makes no different for me the last time I used them when I'm on stock spring. The only thing I got was less sagat, and seldom hear the spring get fully compressed and emit the loud knocking sound when I go rally.
