I was enjoying playing Chromehounds yesterday.....without any problems or lag...was about to start a mission with Jaylike,Firdaus n Terrorisk....then suddenly d game froze...nothing moved on my TV screen....then i rebooted...n all ok..tried to reconnect to Sega server....then it froze again....at first I thought that it might be a server problem ...then I switched off d console n went to sleep...

This morning...i woke up n switched d console on....everything was working fine until i was about to start playing chromehounds...then d system froze again...n once again I rebooted the console feeling sooooo frustrated...n then the most scariest thing that can happen to any xbox360 owner seems to be knocking my door on this 1 unlucky day ....ITS D

3 BLINKING RED LIGHTS OF DEATH......

NO VIDEO OUTPUT....NO ROARING SOUNDS OF THE CPU....

Then dunno what was d error about...i ran to my pc n quickly went to xbox-scene.com forum n read everything about error codes......then ran back to d console n did a diagnostic test (using a method to find hidden code coz no video came out frm my xbox) n turned out to be the horrifying 0102 error code .....

although they said in d forum that using Hot Air Gun can fix d problem...but will it last ?I dont think its because of overheating coz i have Nyko intercooler attached n it shud be cooler....but they might circulating hot air coz in small game room there is no air cond..just a fan...i dunno....

I tried rebooting my console for 50 times straight n still no results....have tried everything suggested in d xbox-scene forum but nothing worked....havent tried d hot air gun method yet.....coz i need to open everything...n not sure whether d warranty still valid or not coz bought it frm primer last month.....if d warranty has expired or not valid...then i will try d hot air gun thingy....or if im too lazy..i might be getting a new one instead....shud i repair it or just get a new one(no money waaa)??

If i get a new one then I will use d old one as a watercooling n case modding project(if i can somehow fix them using hot air guns) or i'll just disassemble everything n sell d parts......i might just do that.....arghh im soooo frustrated n cannot think straight now.....

might be selling some of my games..parts n controller to support my new 360 so i will let u guys know when d times come....

hey guys...sorry for not replying...went to paradise breakaway for 10 days to perhentian island...merajuk coz my xbox360 buat hal....then straight went to cuti-cuti malaysia....just got back...very tanned...i mean sunburnt....n now a task to repair my 360...saw a new post by metalgrindsolid tanggaling d baju of d 360 n mod d cooling system....will try that as well....anyway sorry to bro darkchaser.....

I've got myself a new premium 360 unit from connie today......but will still use the old accessories so the new ones r surplus to requirements...so those items are for sale..brand new unpacked!!!

if anyone interested to buy my broken 360 let me know...it can be fixed but i just dont have d time and equipments to do it....just use the Hot air gun method coz i think the solders used on d chips might have been worn out or loose...so by using hot air gun it will realligned d solder n fix the problem...coz i reckoned thats d main problem for my 360..not bcoz of overheating....coz both of d fans r working fine...my hard disk still ok...all d old accessories can be used with my new console without problem..

then for those who like to mod can use this to try out the water cooling project or anything u like ....

the new unit bought from connie today is quieter than d previous batch...so MS must have done some improvements on d newer console...not sure but without doubt i will take an extra care for this one...no more playing >5 hours...max 4 hours......n will play in air-cond room only ....

its not caused by the power adapter since im using it now with my new console..so it shud be the console itself...n most likely to be d solder joints problem...coz thats d only fault I can think of right now since d error code was 0102.....yup bro dark..like bro judge said...try to ask MS first...u might be able to get a free repair for ur console if u r willing to wait....but most of the time they will still charge u for the repair which they have set for $130.00....thats minus shipping n call charges...so sum up it would be close to rm1000 to repair the console....and it cant be guaranteed that u will get back the exact console..they might change it to the refurb one n if say they've managed to repair it...i bet the problem will still persist in 1-2 months time...

considering all the above.....that is why i bought a new unit..then sell all the new accessories...which if u r lucky can cover almost half of the unit price.....after all..all i need is just the console...

it depends..there are loads of error codes to be discovered....but if u still manage to see text coming out on d screen then its not a big deal..just like bro shumaky said just disconnect n reconnect everything n u r back on track...but if there is no video output at all...then thats it...u'll have to do a manual diagnosis to know the error code n if its appear to be 0102 then say rest in peace my beloved xbox 360....u shall be remembered today,tomorrow till i get a new one lah hehe...

yes indeed...i've watched the video on how to do it properly....I havent try it yet....dont have d experties n equipments to do it ....but those who wants to try it can have my full premium set (d old console but comes with brand new accessories..new HDD,new power supply,new wireless controller,new headset)..coz im using my old accessories with my new console.....so hurry..make me an offer.....got 1 offer frm bro metal....anyone else interested??nothing to lose...if u cant revive the xbox then i'll give u a full refund ....but there is a high chance of getting d xbox fixed....just want to get rid d old console n to help some of u to own 360 at a fraction of d ori price...n of course help me to cover some money buying d new set...

bro dark....go check it out on xbox-scene.com....they have step by step guide with pics that will help u to open ur console...all u need are d tools which they've also mentioned in there....nothin' to lose bro...unless u really want to send d console back to MS....if not then finger-crossed n have a go

p/s: I dont think hair dryer would produce enuf heat to melt d solder right?if so then really need to use d one in d video....that can burn paper in an instant

im back...phew...how come cuti sooooo busy??aarrghhh need more free time to play games....my old console was an asian set....im running my new baby for 6-9 hours straight everyday to download demos n trailers...is it a wise thing to do huhu....but i alwiz make sure d air around d console to flow using a fan....finger-crossed...stay alive as long as u can baby....tomorrow goin to low yat..try to find thermal paste...goin to rip open my broken 360 n revive it....

asian set is for asia except japan...n yes both r ntsc/j coded...so not really sure d difference....for jap360 u'll have to use stepdown converter while no need for asian set....n jap set got remote huhu..my new baby was manufactured on 21/4/06 so i really hoped that Ms had done some improvements on d console.....or else i'll be doomed in 3-4 months time...

it depends...loads of error codes can be diagnosed by those 3 red blinking red lights....it can be anything...cable connection...power supply...overheat...unstable voltage...hard drive..but d most common one is d general hardware problem....n d most scariest one is when u cant get any display frm d moment u switched on d console n no matter what u do..reconnect cable...hard drive..restarting 50-100 times...d red lights just wont stop blinking....n thats it....but it was ought to be repairable but i havent tried it yet...just dont have time n tools to do so....if have all d tools i will definitely open a tutotial threads to share with those suffering frm d same fate n to all LYN 360 members.....can some one lend me a hot air gun please..please..please??

boss djinn...have u try it?do u know what is d suitable temperature to blow d cpu,gpu n motherboard without melting them or cause severe damage??or maybe can go fix at ur shop hehe....
