Drove quite a while to this not so famous cliff yesterday in hope for a sunset. Turns out to be quite a disappointment.
Tusan Cliff by QiAnG92, on Flickr Tusan Beach by QiAnG92, on FlickrBTW, will lenses be damaged if left inside car under the sun for too long. Was leaving my camera bag in my car and didn't took any pictures for quite some time. Somehow I feel that the distortion is suddenly pretty bad at 12mm.. not sure if its always like this or not. maybe ive gotten used to my phone's camera |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 17 2014, 01:26 PM) Love your efforts man Thanks bro. Hoping to improve more as a landscape photographer, but sort of lack of some subjects. its tough without travel alot Not many are willing to just go out purposely for shots Anyway, I think leaving anything inside your car is a bad idea as the sun here is crazy.. even if the glass doesn't get damaged, the rubbers will melt huhu QUOTE(copperwire93 @ Aug 17 2014, 09:03 PM) Nice place you went there. Here, it's hard to find a good landscape spot. If there are good view, always they are spoiled with thrash. It's almost the same here bro, famous spots are all littered, first world problemI see slow shutter there. Argghhh.... until now can't afford ND filter and a good UWA. That's why I stopped putting much effort on landscape nowadays. Um both shots are actually hdr and I didn't use any nd, maybe cause the light was pretty low and the water in the 2nd shot is originally smooth, cant afford nd as well, damn broke T_T fast fast graduate and fast fast work and earn money |

QUOTE(copperwire93 @ Sep 6 2014, 11:03 PM) Gonna have my first pre-wedding job. Any tips? Should I shoot RAW or JPEG or both? I will bring two D5100, 18-55 kit lens for wide angle purpose and 35mm 1.8 will be my primary prime. SB700 speedlight and Nissin 622 mark 2 as external flashes. Good luck bro, I'm having a few engagement and wedding sessions this month. Quite nervous... Client asked for shoot and burn. Thinking of doing it all with my 35 sigma, but seems sorta tight indoors and wide at church, might have to purchase a 85g or tamron 18-55 2.8 non vc all the best bro |

Hopefully my landscape skill will be as good as your macro skill some day I think the RAW file should be kept for this one- can edit in the future into advertisement-style photo Though I would probably photoshop away the other 2 cars at the back XD Keep it up mate! Don't know how to use photoshop, haha. Should be the stamp tool if I'm correct. Tried using spot healing in Lightroom, the result was |

Thanks guys. haha. a critics isnt a critics if it's not harsh.
So apart from the bad bokeh from the lens, overprocess... care to elaborate more on breathing space? as in more ... space in the right and left of the model? haha i just started out and not that good in portraits i think |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Oct 21 2014, 03:12 PM) Right side is the head Thanks bro, its ok. wont improve if your critics arent harsh. haha. just gotta shoot more shoot more Interesting creature~ I personally think you did pretty well on the shots, just that it would be even better with a better lens haha I think you have to be more careful about the background you choose for your portrait shots since they are very important to bring out the model. Maybe the colour tones for the 1st 3 shots aren't that suitable though that may depend on your own preference I think the composition of your shots are OK, though for shot #1 I usually only frame like that if there is something interesting to see in the background Just my noob 2 cents haha, sometimes its a bit hard to convey the message and opinion.. sorry if sound harsh QUOTE(gunzerdude @ Oct 21 2014, 04:53 PM) The bokeh isn't bad, just that that particularly terrible one that tanji pointed out is because of over-processing (sharpening, saturation, clarity, etc.) yep will do. no one is perfect from the start anyway, through failure we can achieve success, maybe in 10 years time i'll look back on my older photos and frown as well. Should you intend to apply that much modifications next time, you might wanna mask out the background in photoshop first. I'm going to contradict tanji here by saying a better lens doesn't matter, what you are using is already pretty good. Your skill matters more. (Sorry tanji, you yourself should already know what a good photog can do with less) Breathing space is part of composition skills, but I can't really tell you any "rules" to follow, just try to look at how other photographers shoot outdoor portraits (wide, tele, normal lenses). No worries about making mistakes, I used to do everything i'm telling you not to do plus more (And I still make alot of mistakes even now) |
