You got an arca swiss ballhead?

I use a D800 plate from the same Sunwayfoto company as the one you have. These China made ones are good workmanship and relatively cheaper than the ones from US. Was tempted to get their L plate but it was too much money seeing that I don't use it often. It add a little bulk too.

Besides usage on the tripod, I use a small Sunwayfoto arca clamp attached to my ciplak Black Rapid strap to grip the arca clamp on the bottom of the camera.

Before you perform this test, did you disable AF engagement for shutter half-press? Set the "AF Activation" option to "AF-ON only". For D600 it's option f4 if not wrong and since no dedicated button on D600 (and D7000) for AF-On, use the AE-L/AF-L button as the AF-ON button.

Also, for the test to be accurate, you need to make sure that your camera sensor is parallel to the newspaper or any intended object and also on the same plane.

For that you need something like LensAlign to correctly place the target and make the test more meaningful as you can manually set and determine the focal plane of the target to be parallel to the camera sensor plane.

Hello guys I'm new to photography. I'm thinking to get a Nikon D5200 with kit lens. Here's the thing, my budget is only RM2k cause I'm paying this with my PTPTN, and this camera is selling at RM2.2k+ everywhere. I was thinking to go for import set, aka grey market dslr. Can anyone suggest me where can I get this import set in Lowyat or elsewhere? Or where can I get the original one with lower price tag, like RM2.1k? Thanks alot 

too long never take my gear out and shoot, now my tamron 11-16 and 35 f1.8 already developed fungus

that tamron has more serious fungus than my 35, i scare my 85 soon will be the same

how much it cost to clean fungus?

I'm planning to upgrade to a lens with f1.4 aperture in the future and combo with a full frame dslr, can this freeze motion in the above situation without raising ISO or using flash?

Actually why people are interested in mirrorless nowadays? Good lens are huge and heavy anyway.

i never put flash in drybox...kinda pointless.

I only place my lens and body inside the drybox... flash by default outside 

Hi guys, might have decided to get a 2nd hand d600 (saves money, lol), but I'm not sure how the dust issue has been going. AFAIK, Nikon launched the D610 to replace the D600 without properly addressing the issue, and what I've read is that Nikon has publicly announced that they will try to repair it a few times if not replace it with a D610 if the sensor dust issue still persists even if the warranty has expired.

Now I've heard that Nikon UK and USA have been giving out D610's to people who have been going back more than 3 times for repairs. The question is.... Is Nikon Malaysia doing the same thing?

if you tight budget, get the 35mm first... this would be your first prime lens, so you can do those 'bokeh' shot..

imo, kit lens serve quite well on F8-F12 on landscape shot...

I thought higher aperture is better as more DoF? Wasn't low aperture only good for low light shots? What other uses of such low apertures other than low light?

yeap little vignette, if u really need to crop, it'll be like 40mm (since maybe u wanna crop out the edges)
yeah i guess so.. seems that many ppl are using that lens.. bt if im using a DX body, i wont go for the lens if i already have a 35mm 1.8g.. just my personal opinion la..
bt im oso thinking of getting a new item. either 70-200, 85, 35mm art, or wide angle? lol so confused.   
i tried the 11-16 on d610, the centre is vy vy sharp! maybe get that one for a fixed prime at 16mm ? haha.

btw 35mm 1.4 Art is weighing at 665 gram.. that's 3 times the weight of 35mm 1.8G .. not really heavy la. ur d7k will balance out the weight. bt a 50mm Art definately heavy .. 900g++
