You got an arca swiss ballhead?

I use a D800 plate from the same Sunwayfoto company as the one you have. These China made ones are good workmanship and relatively cheaper than the ones from US. Was tempted to get their L plate but it was too much money seeing that I don't use it often. It add a little bulk too.

Besides usage on the tripod, I use a small Sunwayfoto arca clamp attached to my ciplak Black Rapid strap to grip the arca clamp on the bottom of the camera.
*
yups...

ya, the quality of the plate is very nice i would say. it fit nicely as describe by the product description. at first i do see on the L shape one because that theoretically should able to hold the camera in vertical even better...but then like u say, it not cheap at all.

after very long time...only able to continue the "dot-tune" for all my prime lens.

the adjustment seem very huge

nikon 50mm f1.8g --> -6
nikon 85mm f1.8g --> -10
tamron sp90 f2.8 --> +18

testing the result using newspaper and it seem working fine.

Before you perform this test, did you disable AF engagement for shutter half-press? Set the "AF Activation" option to "AF-ON only". For D600 it's option f4 if not wrong and since no dedicated button on D600 (and D7000) for AF-On, use the AE-L/AF-L button as the AF-ON button.

Also, for the test to be accurate, you need to make sure that your camera sensor is parallel to the newspaper or any intended object and also on the same plane.

For that you need something like LensAlign to correctly place the target and make the test more meaningful as you can manually set and determine the focal plane of the target to be parallel to the camera sensor plane.

yups...i got set that during the fine tune process
at first was not n i keep on getting weird result until i re-look into the instruction n found this info smile.gif

Hello guys I'm new to photography. I'm thinking to get a Nikon D5200 with kit lens. Here's the thing, my budget is only RM2k cause I'm paying this with my PTPTN, and this camera is selling at RM2.2k+ everywhere. I was thinking to go for import set, aka grey market dslr. Can anyone suggest me where can I get this import set in Lowyat or elsewhere? Or where can I get the original one with lower price tag, like RM2.1k? Thanks alot  cry.gif
*
if not urgently to get it for something...
then might just save a little bit more only get it. maybe that time, the camera price also drop already due to the d5300 smile.gif

I'm planning to upgrade to a lens with f1.4 aperture in the future and combo with a full frame dslr, can this freeze motion in the above situation without raising ISO or using flash?
*
get a flash n everything will be solve...
with FF body and F1.4 lens to capture a keep on moving kids in indoor with low ISO is seriously very hard. At least for me, i also cant do it shakehead.gif

sometime just raise the iso n capture a moment by ignoring the noise...when ppl looking it at mobile phone at fb..no one will notice the noise. but the u get motion blur every one saw it....

Hi guys, might have decided to get a 2nd hand d600 (saves money, lol), but I'm not sure how the dust issue has been going. AFAIK, Nikon launched the D610 to replace the D600 without properly addressing the issue, and what I've read is that Nikon has publicly announced that they will try to repair it a few times if not replace it with a D610 if the sensor dust issue still persists even if the warranty has expired.

Now I've heard that Nikon UK and USA have been giving out D610's to people who have been going back more than 3 times for repairs. The question is.... Is Nikon Malaysia doing the same thing?

thanks guys
*
in malaysia service advisory, it do mention when the problem it can be solve by the SC for "few times", they will replace it with a replacement model (assume is D610). But in the service advisory it didnt mention how many times la...

Anyone here is using GND filter? Worth to get it?  hmm.gif
*
depend to usage guah..
if happen that u want to snap something but it still too bright when u lower ur ISO to minimum that allow and to the highest Aperture value. Then that is where the GND filter come in...but it seem got different kind for different usage also..

another is when u want to take long exposure on water flow (seaside, water fall, river ...ect) then this filter also useful.

yeahhh...now Im do some survey to get best bargain.
Here is my scenario
D90 + kit lens = sell
50mm 1.8D = keep
70-300mm nikkor vr = consider sell?

And get D610 + 28-300mm vr, what do you guys think?
jom..jom...it is time for us to move to FF  biggrin.gif
*
70-300mm nikkor vr can keep mah...it can use on FF also biggrin.gif

if you tight budget, get the 35mm first... this would be your first prime lens, so you can do those 'bokeh' shot..

imo, kit lens serve quite well on F8-F12 on landscape shot...

just 2 cent...  tongue.gif
*
yeah...the 35mm f1.8 also my first lens i buy after the kit lens when i using D5100 some year ago..
get poison by the "bokeh" n straight away bought it...

I thought higher aperture is better as more DoF? Wasn't low aperture only good for low light shots? What other uses of such low apertures other than low light?
Sorry for barrage of question . Thank you if you'll answer this, sifu  notworthy.gif
*
the distance of the object to the camera also will affect the DOF smile.gif

yeap little vignette, if u really need to crop, it'll be like 40mm (since maybe u wanna crop out the edges)
yeah i guess so.. seems that many ppl are using that lens.. bt if im using a DX body, i wont go for the lens if i already have a 35mm 1.8g.. just my personal opinion la..
bt im oso thinking of getting a new item. either 70-200, 85, 35mm art, or wide angle? lol so confused.  rclxub.gif
i tried the 11-16 on d610, the centre is vy vy sharp! maybe get that one for a fixed prime at 16mm ? haha.

btw 35mm 1.4 Art is weighing at 665 gram.. that's 3 times the weight of 35mm 1.8G .. not really heavy la. ur d7k will balance out the weight. bt a 50mm Art definately heavy .. 900g++  shocking.gif
*
get 85 biggrin.gif dont know how to explain...it make the object pop out from the photo

since long time ago i also wish to get 70-200 or the 35mm art
but the fuji already kill my plan. hahaha...
