very good item for the price!!! and also very good noise suppression!

i think most of you wanted to know what is inside? it's very good quality construction!

this is from Hotshot GOLD 9.2mm racing plug cable! (famous australian made performance cable; sold at ebay malaysia for RM140, even more at retail)
user posted image

it's a multi core with a soft black pvc shield and yellow silicon sleeve... for high frequency, current travel ONLY on the outer surface of the core... Cheaper or normal cable have only single solid carbon or graphite core.. so the surface area is minimal compared to hotshot gold that have significantly more surface area from the multiple cores!

Why don't people use normal copper as it does have much lower resistance? well, using copper you'll introduce EFI, or noise from the high frequency of the cable.. (at 4cyc engine at 1000rpm, you're generating 33Hz pulse at coil). the best noise supression is using carbon. but it does have high resistance. and the soft compound also means that it'll brittle from the high heat... i have a brittle core problem from a 10mm cable i used for 8 years... basially the black core become powdered.

what is in RAM Quad core?

you can see the core is feathered! it's actually consists of hundreds of fibre core! this translate to MORE surface area! the fibre core is protected with a black hard silicon.. when you cut this cable, you'll notice it's significantly tougher at the core. (not from the wire wound). then you'll see the third core which is the soft brown silicon which is for the fourth wire wound to stick to. compared to other brands i've used before... this wire does have much tighter wound.. actually you cannot go any tighter than that! this wire coil is for noise suppression. the more core you have, the higher the current delivered. the more current you deliver, the more "noise" you produce (faraday's law). the coil will suppress the noise or interference while deliverying current at the same time.

then the silicon sleeve is made of soft silicon... felt almost like silicon breast implant! cheaper cable uses harder silicon (which mix with rubber or other materials) making it easy to crack after long use under hot engine hood temperature. this quadcore gives me the impression that it'll lasts longer. plus the material is slightly softer than Hotshot GOLD.

I've used quadcore for my car.. revs between 3500-5000rpm feels much lighter! and i have better throttle responds.. better than my TopGun 10.5mm (almost solid core) Pro Racing cables!

codex,
1. Quadcore(tm) 10mm High Performance Plug Cable should be the answer.
2. RM10 if delivery or install in KL. so total price shall be RM179.
3. Prefer in Plaza Hotel KL. but any LRT station should be ok too. 1st week of May 2008 should be good bkoz i m in KL during that time.

You are the most welcome. notworthy.gif
