QUOTE(jonchai @ Mar 31 2014, 03:07 PM) Normally I try to find a support level for stocks I intend to enter so that I don't catch falling knives. I don't usually look into resistance, yet. Still learning, still learning but sometimes, many factors are driven the price leh. The chart seems ok, but, it falls. how you determine support level? |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Mar 31 2014, 03:24 PM) Yea, burned slightly, chopped early it looks like a down trend for me and genting might need a long time to recover from it. Is it? 9.7 marked an all time low in recent weeks, back then, so that's how I justified the support. It did drop below 9.7 for a few days, and then bounced back up. The theme park is still under constructing. There's a problem with license too in europe. But like you said, it bounced back to 10.00. Any more news that will be the catalyst? I'm interested to know too. |

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 2 2014, 09:53 AM) Back to business... I'm wondering, how many lots do you usually buy? After reading and making decision, I'm still a little bit unconfident on my choices hence, only 10 lots or so which kinda like making the profits limited into buckets of kfc only. Inari one day down like mad next day up like mad.. the punters all mad one.. cannot make up mind Insas back in (little) action... most likely close flat again... Flying horse.. looks like breakout stalled.. CB stock... keeps retreating for no apparent reason. Homer also neither here nor there..low volume.. going coma soon.. So, if it's showing good up trend with good fundamental(maybe?), like what boon gor said, average up? |

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 3 2014, 01:50 PM) EV/Ebitda is just a more comprehensive evaluation rather than plain old PE ratio which does not show the 'cash' and 'debt' portion in the company not the hidden cashflow of D&A. This is only used as a guide vs potential growth. Nice input! Boss!Taxation is not a straight line, in 1Q you can have low tax and next Q you can have high tax, EV/Ebitda removes all these 'distractions' when making comparison. D&A is not actual an actual 'cost' hence removed to be able to see the valuation of the company at a much clearer state than EPS. EV accounts for all debts, cash and minority stakes which also show you a clearer picture rather than price/share. This method is not for everyone, and no means a guaranteed valuation, just a different look at a different angle at a company. Sometimes high PE company can have low Ev/Ebitda and vice versa... EV/Ebitda should not be used alone, should be used together with PE, BV, FCF and all the common valuation metrics. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Apr 3 2014, 03:03 PM) Now I'm wondering, what are the skills needed to sell? Reach own TP and sell? Share prices will go for correction from time to time albeit fundamentals. Yet, if the companies are really doing great and like you said, with acceptable growth and so. Hold tight-tight? Have been reading about the selling skills but seems like, it's more for traders/punters. How about investors? Hold tightly to earn fruits? Like, let say, I have had PBB since 20 years ago. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Apr 3 2014, 05:14 PM) Apparently I was thinking the same thing when my dad die die also want me in. At the time, I just resign from a sales job earning 3k++ When things are related with money. Everything will go crazy. Came in and get a 1.5K salary. Work like hell, increase to 2K. Get a company car to drive. After 8 years, still stuck with 3K+ salary, no entertainment claims, company car and petrol. MY customers who deal 500-600K per annum ask me no freebies meh? I also dont know how to answer. Use a part of my bonus pay for their lunches. Want to know why my dad no share? He is not my grandpa favorite son. My grandpa got 2 shares, gave to other uncles. He and my other uncle who started this company actually got a chance to own share by deducting salary, but since salary was already low 30 years back, they decided to forego the opportunity and just wanted to be fully paid. Somemore, it was not until 2005, they finally wake up. Why do I earn so much for the company while only took 10K home monthly. Then they start to buy Merc, double their salary la. Sigh... crazy crazy world... |
