Dear sifus, why does the market (KLCI at least) always rally in the last minutes of the trading day? It usually adds many points to the KLCI and sometimes turns a daily drop to a slight increase.
Is this something going on in the back-ground? |

QUOTE(jdgobio @ Mar 28 2014, 05:49 PM) By the companies themselves or by a "bigger force"? Also, how do they do it? When I try to do late trades after 4.30 pm its usually rejected - maybe because this is when the bigger force comes to play? I think you're trying to lower than the last traded price I presume. At 4.45pm you're only allowed to key in (buy/sell) at the last traded price. |

Consumer stocks has risen pretty much lately. Just not sure which to pick, even though Im eyeing LonBisc since 6x cents. Didnt follow through.Catalyst is directors bought 30 mil shares back from market.. Just trying to learn TA. I wonder if consumer stock will take a beating now. Lately I do noticed less people going groceries and more discount being handed out which is unusual after a festive season like CNY. Just yesterday, I bought a tin of Formula Milk which is on discount (RM82.xx) and yet they are able to FREE another higher priced formula milk which I currently buy for my son (RM6x). Really crazy... I bought almost 1 year stock. |

Hehe.... try not to associate 'news' / fundamentals to the chart so fast..... Correct kah? This is primary due to felda disposing + less export sales due to egypt issue... Yes, correct. What we want to see is the trends. Stock moved higher in Dec. That's the 'first' trend you see. Then what happen is the stock then created a DOWNTREND. from 210+ to 1.70+. This IS the current trend. The latest movement... you see the stock have been making several movements up, trying to breakaway from this trend OR starting a new trend. The very long candle you see yesterday... that's the first movement. Assumptions? Well if this is to be a new trend, logically the stock can or attempt to move back to previous high of 210+. That's the assumption. Sometimes... 1. It does happen and it can even move higher... 2. Sometimes it moves but it doesn't move as high. It meets a new resistant between here and 210+. Then the stock moves back down again... 3. Sometimes such movement (or attempt to breakout) fails. It falls back again before attempt again... Both 1, 2 and 3 is very possible. If fundamentals/outlook is weak, 3 is possible. If got good catalysts, well 1 and 2 is possible. ok so far? |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Mar 29 2014, 11:38 AM) Boon, IMO, what we are seeing now is a 'possible' reversal of the downtrend. When the price break 1.8x in March, doesnt it break the resistance (reversal role) and signal an outbreak? Does it need to rise higher than 1.9 to signal an outbreak? Which I have laid down the 3 possibilities.... In the stock market, you better learn that possibilities is never cast in stone. Shit happens..... a lot. |

For those who likes to read non-fiction books...
try this.. "Flash Boys : A wall street revolt" by Michael Lewis A story about high speed super secret traders housed in a heavily guarded bomb proof bunker which is stealing 0.01 cent at a time (but at rate of millions times per hour) from the masses in the stock market. And also the rebellious move to counter this threat by brilliant programmers by creating a hidden stock exchange.. The books reads like a secret spy detective novel LOL.. QUOTE(Boon3 @ Mar 29 2014, 03:49 PM) So fast conclude meh? This one FA i can confidently answer... Why did earnings exploded so much? This current fiscal year, growth mana pergi? And I think.... this explains why the recent 'weakness' in Pwroot share price. It is no longer having the power it had in 2012............................. The stock exploded is because they started to export to middle east, and found good acceptance. Sales to Egypt alone is about 63 mil a year in 2012. With higher export volume, will result in higher revenue and higher profit. There we talk of setting up a factory in Egypt to cater for the explosive growth. Why Egyptians like Alicafe so much, beats me.. maybe because of the name 'Ali' sort of captured the Muslim market. Then shit happens in Egypt when they overthrow the government and the 63 mil a year shrinks to only 9-10 mil a year. Also during this time, the stock show visibly lower and lower export sales thus hurting earnings. You see the sharp drop in the stock during the time of reporting poorer sales. Some Egyptian debts goes to doubtful debts and leads to write offs. In the mean time there is like 9 million worth of doubtful debt by Egyptians... But during this time also they launched Ah Huat 'pak kopi' which somehow resonates with the 'Chinese' population and local sales actually picks up in replacement of the eroding export sales. Now things are more or less stabilize as local sales are replacing the export sales. For future direction, they shifted their export market from Egypt to middle east especially Oman and seen their export gradually improving also they are trying to penetrate Indonesia & Singapore. Apparently Alicafe is found to be very acceptable in Indonesia and Oligo in Singapore...There is also now 'talk' of the middle east factory in Oman.... So it depends, they have successfully captured back some local market share with Ah Huat, which is a great PR move. Now can they re-capture back the export market they have lost previously which will be the catalyst for the stock to go higher? This question can only be answered in the coming Q report... I am sure you can now see and understand where the stock is at now. There are signs that currently the stock is attempting to recover its recent down movement. Immediate upside, of course is possible bit do we have good catalyst to actually drive the stock to a higher ground? Taking into consideration to what you have written, perhaps it's possible but considering the recent profit reports are lackluster perhaps the wise move is wait for the coming Q report..... and if the stock moves strongly before that.... are you willing to follow and bet what the 'insiders' are betting? |

QUOTE(kueyteowlou @ Mar 30 2014, 08:46 PM) look at the pwroot price now... directors all supporting the price... why are you worry? this is fundamental stock... their business income are from middle east... tongkat ali ... this is for investment not punting... buy without worry.. can have a good sleep and collect dividend... Talking investment meh? I think you have to be cautious. This stock boomed in 2012. Profit boom stock boom. (read Gark's comments lor) But if you pay attention to fundamentals, fy 2013 is very lackluster. Boom is gone. Profits stagnated. Stock went no where... Clearly seen in the chart. And if you also read Gark's comments, you can easily understand why. Stocks are simple. When the growth is booming, stock price will boom. Once growth stagnant or decline, stock price will suffer. You can see this reflected in all stocks. It's not saying this stock will die. Too early days. Company is said to be trying to expand to other markets. Will it succeed? If one is not an investor yet, perhaps it is more logical to be patient and don't simply invest. It's too early. Wait for the next profit report. See if there is progress. Yes, of course, it need the 'buying' to drive the stock higher. You believe in the who is buying. Not to say you are wrong in adopting such approach. But my approach is different. Anyway, I guess you don't believe that understanding fundamentals ourselves but I do. Do you know that some really good traders are great fundamentalist too? They understand what drives a stock higher... and what drives a stock lower... For what's is worth... 2010 - 10 million profit 2011 - 12 million profit 2012 - 16 million profit 2013 - 34 million profit Can you see the jump from 16 million profit to 34 million profit? This for me is the driving factor that drove the stock higher. |

Yes, of course la, trader, market maker, me, you... we are all different. This is exactly why some would say stuff like market is not logical... and then some would argue that the market is always right... So funny isn't it? If you put the above into perspective... you know that everyone involved here in the market... we all want to make money.... BUT yet..... we are all different in many ways. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Mar 31 2014, 09:40 AM) Alex posting on LondonB was on 11 March 2014 la.When it comes to TA, usually, older dated TA cannot be used. It's like biscuits, you leave it out in the open, it masuk angin jor... TA write ups is really so much like weather forecast. They based it on the current data at that time (in this case, many, many days ago) With stocks being traded daily, trading data changes.... sometimes like weather, there could be massive changes in the data, which forces the weatherman to change their forecast. Therefor, I think it's not right you hold Alex's TA resistance level as TP today. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Mar 31 2014, 10:07 AM) Nothing nice to buy we talk male chicken lor.7126, I mentioned to FooFoo that this company is creepy. Alex however wrote: QUOTE Housekeeping In the past 3 years, Lonbisc had disposed off its investment in two listed companies involved in the production of eggs. In 2010, it sold off its 23.86%-stake in Lay Hong Bhd to QL Resources Bhd for RM11.852 million (at a small loss of RM130,000). In 2011, it sold off its 33.65%-stake in TPC Plus Bhd to Huat Lai Resources Bhd for RM8.075 million (at a small loss of RM400,000). With these disposals, Lonbisc has freed up its financial resources and can concentrate in its core businesses. On one hand what he wrote is factually correct but it doesn't tell the whole story. Last time, there was a big hoo-ha over London Biscuit's dealings. They would simply invest in a company... and then .... they would sell. At a loss too! We, the outsiders, had no idea what the F***** this company is doing. It was such a big thing that there were even writeup on the newspapers.... http://www.thestar.com.my/Story/?sec=b&fil...iness%2F9641589 This one was also a good example for investors not to rely soley on PER. |

But then London Biscuit also bought a much better egg company, Lay Hong. If you read the earlier Star article: QUOTE This is not the first time that London Biscuits has made a wrong bet on a listed egg producer. In November 2006, it bought 11.18% equity in Lay Hong Bhd. It continued accumulating Lay Hong shares until July 2010. A month later, London Biscuits announced that it had sold its entire shareholding (23.86%) in Lay Hong to QL Resources Bhd. The loss from the disposal: more than RM130,000. LonBis also became a laughing stock cos when Lay Hong was sold, Lay Hong shares went boom boom up. There was another 'investment'... let me search. |

QUOTE(foofoosasa @ Mar 31 2014, 11:16 AM) Fruit Plus made by Khee San! Those not bad sweets. Now I remember!!! What lah ... some more early this year. http://www.nst.com.my/business/nation/khee...alysts-1.471870 Khee San starting to look appetising, say analysts 0 0 Google +0 0 0 comments BISCUIT maker Khee San Bhd may be making its way back to retail investors' watchlist, stock chartist and analysts said yesterday. The stock has been up by more than 30 per cent over a 12-month period, closing at a 52-week peak on January 16 at 60 sen a share. More importantly, stock marker theorist noted that the stock has begun trading above its 30-day moving average. "It is always a good sign when on an upward movement, the stock's daily average volume is above its 30-day moving average," a chartist said. Yesterday, some 245,000 Khee San shares were traded while the stock's trading average over a 30-day period stood at about 233,000 shares. "Purely on a trading platform, I believe that the daily average volume of a stock below 30 sen should be at least 10 million to gain the attention of the broader market," said Edmund Tham, the research head at Mercury Securities. When asked on Khee San, Tham said he cannot go into specifics, but the rule of the thumb is that if a stock that has been out of the broader retail market is to have a sustained rally, it should have at least one of the three potential news worth factors. "It could be remarkable improvements in the company's financials, emergence of a new shareholder or significant change in business direction," said Tham. Khee San shares, which closed three sen higher at 57 sen a share, has thus far not openly showed if any of the factors mentioned by Tham are in play. A quick look at its financials reveals that for the first quarter ended August 2013, Khee San posted sales of RM25.03 million versus RM21.71 million previously while pre-tax profit stood at RM1.147 million versus RM1.02 million before. That being said, the last time Khee San shares were mentioned in the press was in 2011 when rumours emerged that its only substantial shareholder, London Biscuits Bhd, with a 33.65 per cent stake, was looking to increase its stake. Khee San is seen as a jewel in crown of London Biscuits and despite trading at around 57 sen a share now, Khee San has a net tangible asset value of RM1.61 a share. QUOTE(foofoosasa @ Mar 31 2014, 11:16 AM) Ah FooFoo... http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed...ncements/438185 QUOTE The Board of Directors ("BOD") of LONBISC are pleased to announce that the Company had on 17 September 2007 signed a Sale & Purchase Agreement dated 17 September 2007 between KHEE SAN REALTY & HOLDINGS SDN BHD (“KSRH”) for the Proposed Acquisition of 18,420,300 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each in KHEESAN representing approximately 30.7% of the enlarged issued and paid-up share capital of KHEESAN (‘the said Sale Shares”) for a total cash consideration of RM27,630,450.00. This Edge article: http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/highlights/...-san-stirs.html QUOTE Lonbisco remains Khee San’s single largest shareholder with its 32.87% shareholding. Lonbisco surfaced in Khee San four years ago after acquiring a 30.7% stake via a direct business transaction on Oct 24, 2007, before growing its stake to the current 32.87% (19.72 million shares). When Lonbisco bought into Khee San, it drew criticism for buying at about RM1.50 per share, a steep premium to the latter’s then share price of about RM1. Note that Khee San’s current share price of about 45 sen is now less than a third of Lonbisco’s purchase price. Investors will be now watching Lonbisco’s next move on Khee San since the former has disposed of its interest in TPC Plus this year for RM8.08 million, and stake in poultry player Lay Hong Bhd last year for RM11.87 million. A Lonbisco spokesman had earlier told The Edge Financial Daily that the group had no intention of selling Khee San and its wholly-owned subsidiary Kinos Food Industries (M) Sdn Bhd. An analyst said Khee San appears to be a suitable fit with Lonbisco’s core business of manufacturing cake-based products as the latter expands its product offerings and brands. “By comparison, the two disposed poultry and egg companies (Lay Hong and TPC Plus) provided less synergy to Lonbisco. While eggs are used in cakes, the poultry companies do not contribute a substantial portion of Lonbisco’s ingredient base”, he said. “Egg production needs large economies of scale to be profitable as the margin is only about one sen per egg. It is more worthwhile for Lonbisco to buy eggs than to produce them,” he added. With eggs and vertical integration out of the way, could Lonbisco set its sights on growing its brands and products? If that is the case, would it aim to grab a bigger slice of Khee San, now that its shares are trading at around one-third of Lonbisco’s earlier entry price and the book value? Bought Khee San at 1.50. Khee San today is only 65 sen! |

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 2 2014, 09:53 AM) Back to business... I'm wondering, how many lots do you usually buy? After reading and making decision, I'm still a little bit unconfident on my choices hence, only 10 lots or so which kinda like making the profits limited into buckets of kfc only. Inari one day down like mad next day up like mad.. the punters all mad one.. cannot make up mind Insas back in (little) action... most likely close flat again... So, if it's showing good up trend with good fundamental(maybe?), like what boon gor said, average up? |

After reading and making decision, I'm still a little bit unconfident on my choices hence, only 10 lots or so which kinda like making the profits limited into buckets of kfc only. I dont count lots, I count by percentage of holdings (includes cash allocated for stock). So, if it's showing good up trend with good fundamental(maybe?), like what boon gor said, average up? I buy minimum 5% to max 20% then i stop no matter how good the counter is. Diversification have saved me countless of times.. But then again some people like to 'all in' one... for bigger profit. Medan is Sak sang... bali is B2 guling.. very different one..I remember few years back when I was in Medan, tasted some B2. Can never forget that Sak Sang's sauce is made from FRESH RAW blood.. nice right? Dont get your B1 and B2 mixed up in Medan.. it means different animal.. Anyway the love for regional local food is why i travel in the first place, i never eat in hotel one. This post has been edited by gark: Apr 2 2014, 10:45 AM |

72 million bought at 40 sen in 2013 41.2 million bought at 1.10 in 2011 8.8 million shares were before IPO....... now Siva wants to sell all at 1.10. Chincai count... Those IPO shares and those 41.2 million shares no count. Count those 72 million shares bought at 40 sen in 2013. If sell at 1.10, those 70 million shares will see a profit of 70 sen per share. 72 million shares X 70 sen profit = ......................... !!!!!!!! Easier than robbing a bank hor.... Wait... Bank also don't carry that much money for one to rob !!! |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Apr 2 2014, 11:44 AM) gark I think there is a corporate raiding is being done here to extract max money from MEGB. lets identify what cat and mouse game these people are playing...72 million bought at 40 sen in 2013 41.2 million bought at 1.10 in 2011 8.8 million shares were before IPO....... now Siva wants to sell all at 1.10. Chincai count... Those IPO shares and those 41.2 million shares no count. Count those 72 million shares bought at 40 sen in 2013. Bank also don't carry that much money for one to rob !!! 1. Siva Kumar sold option at 1.10 (But not necessary Gary MUST pick up one), so this 1.10 might not be legit as no transaction yet. 2. Gary and friends are put into board, Crescent point board members are removed, even before Gary buys the company? 3. Big selldown from ex-directors and crescent point... after they are removed. 4. However very little selling is done at 50 sen to 60 sen most of the selldown at 40+ sen.. panic selling at gamble went wrong? They did not expect the price to fall? 5. Then announce dim sum restaurant purchase when price falters... purchasing HK listed company at 33x PE, and not much explanation given, at less than 5% stake for RM 20 mil, seller is likely to be associated with Gary. Stock rise again... 6. Smells like Bluemont and Asiagold saga... The operators are trying very very hard to goreng the shares, but ikan bilis is not cooperative. QUOTE(gark @ Apr 2 2014, 11:58 AM) I think there is a corporate raiding is being done here to extract max money from MEGB. lets identify what cat and mouse game these people are playing... 1. Must assume la that Siva Kumar's deal will get done at 1.10. 1. Siva Kumar sold option at 1.10 (But not necessary Gary MUST pick up one), so this 1.10 might not be legit as no transaction yet. 2. Gary and friends are put into board, Crescent point board members are removed, even before Gary buys the company? 3. Big selldown from ex-directors and crescent point... before they are removed. Must count how much money he will make. You audit like this meh? Those ex-directors and Crescent point have very reason to sell mah. This company is DEAD. How were they going to dispose so much shares without raising questioning esp when MEGB was falling and falling, heading towards 20 sen and below? With this stunt, suddenly, they could sell at above 40 sen. Classical disposal of shares story... almost the same as told in Livermore's book 100 years ago. 2. From the blog posting, the Gayety holding deal. 118 million shares for RM20 million (or 47.2 million HKD) This is Gayety chart... ![]() This post has been edited by Boon3: Apr 2 2014, 12:24 PM |

Last time I have tracked before... share buybacks did not help the stock to go up... instead it went down... |

Reverse scenario, let's say buy backs when price keeps dropping like shit, then probably need to exert caution (eg parkson). Btw, ah WOOD seems to have stopped. resistance at 1.50, support at 1.40 am sitting on small profits now... thinking whether to wait or leggo how do you feel about it? |

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 2 2014, 04:56 PM) Well with good FA support buying higher is well a strategy to learn. There are tons of info in the net on averaging up.But I will not dream of doing that on poor FA stocks.. As usual not all are words of wisdom. I agree with you BUT I have to add that you must buy at the correct points and you cannot simply buy any quantity. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Apr 2 2014, 06:44 PM) So fast? Should stay longer. I kinda like Bali. Just concentrate on eating well, sleeping well and massage. Just left a bit unsatisfied cause I didnt get to try Waterbom most famous attraction. Aiyah waterbom is for kids lor.... like sunway lagoon like that, not worth it....Bali got better places to go, can go swim with dolphins at lovina, try surfing at seminyak, snorkling at Gili island, jungle trekking at Mount Rinjani for the multi colour lake. Next time come and rent a car with GPS, you can go almost everywhere, Rp 300k per day only...plenty of choices. Want driver add Rp 100k. If want to save money can rent scooters Rp 50k/day only... Actually we hired a driver and after he turned up in an ATV instead of Avanza on the first day, we fired him. Then I went out and rent an Avanza, drive around Bali for 3 days with the map on my Nokia. LOL...Bali got better places to go, can go swim with dolphins at lovina, try surfing at seminyak, snorkling at Gili island, jungle trekking at Mount Rinjani for the multi colour lake. Lovina really depends on luck. Many tourist drove hours to Lovina and saw nothing. Surfing is also out because we cant swim. Snorkelling, well, can do in Redang. Initially, we also plan everything, wanna go here and there. But in the end, instead of running around the island, we just went ahead and enjoy ourself at whatever place we passby. It is really hot and humid there. After our first day, we are dead set on enjoying ourself and absolutely avoided outdoor activities. Luckily we did tour a few popular spots on the first day. Traffic jam is really bad there. |

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 2 2014, 08:01 PM) Haha glad you went on your own instead of standard tourist fare. The gearbox didnt help. I got stuck once because I tried to drive through Kuta to Uluwatu on my first try. After that, I learned my way. Always goes to the east, use the highway all the way to Ubud. Really smooth. The highway is the best, but those motorcycles really annoying. Simply just veer into your lane from nowhere. Actually I did 120kmh on the highway rushing to see the sunrise. It burn quite a lot of fuel doing that speed because of the gear ratio.Traffic jam is really bad all over Indonesia... |

The highway max speed in Indonesia is only 100 km/hr.. lucky you did not get stopped over. When you get the car test drive it a bit before accepting otherwise you get a lemon. And if you add driver, your holiday will be more exciting.I am fighting those motorcycles every day driving to and from work... not only they cut your lane, they drive on the wrong side of the road, overtake from the left even you have left signal light on, stop suddenly, 5person on one bike, no wear helmet, u-turn in middle of road, and some of them drive slowly at the middle of the road. So far I am driving many years in Indon, only manage to bang '2' motorbikes.. paid them a bit of money and we are off. This post has been edited by gark: Apr 2 2014, 08:25 PM |

Typical tourist town.I drive fighting those motorcycles every day to and from work... not only they cut your lane, they drive on the wrong side of the road, overtake from the left even you have left signal light on, stop suddenly, 5person on one bike, no wear helmet, u-turn in middle of road, and some of them drive slowly at the middle of the road. Even early morning walk from Tune to the nearest market and try their roadside dish also sweat. In the end, go where also drive. Sometimes take taxi. We did get chopped during arrival when the taxi charge us extra but since its already dark (night arrivals), no choice but to take the bite. |

QUOTE(Boon3 @ Apr 2 2014, 06:02 PM) Must always be greedy la. You're right. The word greedy is pretty subjective. When it comes to chasing a chicken run, I get very conservative. My strategy is to make less than to lose a lot more. That's why you need to be patient. Slowly choose your target. Then slowly pstiently wait for the kill zone. Get this right... What the hell does the word greedy means? It doesn't exist. You buy more... Cos you are damn correct. Stock price also agree with you. Of course, when it comes to new target, I'm doing exactly like you said I am a lot more patient now |

Of course, when it comes to new target, I'm doing exactly like you said I am a lot more patient now Make less than to lose a lot more .... sounds good and conservative .... but it never really works out in the market. Take 10 trades. Try this simple chincai count... Lose more than win. You lose 6 times. Win 4 time. Sounds sure lose? Not necessary. If you keep your losses small... 5% or so.... assuming each bet is 10 dollars... 5% = 5 sen. 6 losses = 30 sen. now if you keep your winnings bigger than losses... maybe 20%.... each win... will see you make 20 sen. 4 wins = 80 sen. Tada... 80 sen - 30 sen = 50 sen profit. Play around with different scenarios... whatever you choose... winning % must be more than losing %. Conclusion: When you win, you must win BIG. win small.... you can win 70%... but if every win is 5%... all it takes is a couple of big losses (20%) to wipe out all your winnings................. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Apr 3 2014, 09:36 AM) Inari EPS is looking good which is why it was flying. Strange though because I read an article about tightening margin but they still reported better profit. Lower margin.. but revenue increase more than reducing margin (due to amerton) = more profit. But I got gut feeling the play going to be coming to an end soon depending on the next Q report, so dont jump in now. |

QUOTE(jonchai @ Apr 3 2014, 09:49 AM) In investment you cannot be sure one, sometimes trades you are very confident with goes the other way due to many reasons... but like any bet we try to put the odds in our favor. You must have conviction on why you go into the trade in the first place. Conviction can be news, calculations, research, financial, technical analysis, whatever float your boat to ensure that FUTURE earning will be much much higher than now. If you cannot get a number or you dont know how much the earning is expected to go up, you have NO conviction and firing blind. Just make sure your conviction on potential gain is big enough, and the numbers you calculated backs you up, and the price you buy is reasonable, sooner or later the market will recognize the potential. With good REASON to buy, SUBSTANTIAL potential gains, and at RIGHT price, your trades are more or less in your favor, just a matter of TIME only...
