So depending on which brand of petrol you pump, the overcrank problem is more frequent?

Damn, I gotta try this out and see if its true or coincidence. Now that you've said it, I noticed that I only had once or twice overcrank problems while I was using Petron (i used petron for about 5 weeks).
Now I switch back to shell, already happened 2 times within a span of 1 week doh.gif

I'm also using the Brake Safety Lock for around 2yrs... so far no issues.....
Recently my Brake Switch got spoiled, but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with this.....
Anyway... I"ll also monitor...

The problems is this SC claimed the safety lock can cause all this, just wondering when it really happen whether this they will entertain & claim under warranty or not?? Hope Proton will not put a blame to 3rd party part when Proton part cause an issued. icon_idea.gif

hi,

Its may depend on the which showroom as well as color u choose, the best is just drop by the showroom and ask the sale agent.

Was at show room during my service, the sales guys claimed plenty of offer for all range of Proton car. This is a good time to Nego for more freebie or discount... cool2.gif

Good morning all,
Last Sat have an opportunity to drive my EB with "Turbo-off" full time. rclxm9.gif The engine roar sound was so scary till I felt the Car is going to die-off with "Engine indicator light-up" while driving. Hit the accelerator up to +3K rpm & the car hardly move to 50KM/H. doh.gif

No choice but to send my car back to the SC that did repaired my EB on last Wed(for overcrank problems), 1st found the turbo can't turn ON suspect ECU but reset few times problem persist. Then at the workshop with engine test & found Turbo unit not function as it suppose too be, I'm so worry then the Foreman told me need to left the car at the center for further diagnose. hmm.gif But no choice have to left it there since can't drive with such under power+Loud engine sound.

At last the car was repaired & can be pick-up at Sat evening after I SMS their boss to complaint about all the issued I face after brought the EB. You know what, the service guy told me the problems is all cause by some loose contact of the turbo unit's wiring. whistling.gif whistling.gif
This make me suspect the guy who did the repaired of my EB last Wed does not did a good job that lead to this problems.... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Seems like updating the ECU during my last service didn't fix the overcrank problem.

Just had another overcrank last night (rainy night) doh.gif

Try to asked them to log-in to "MRR" to get assistance & advise from their expert... Mine works well so far(touch wood) after the last service.

Normally the engine takes 2-3 cranks to start up.

If overcrank, usually it'll take more than 7 cranks to start up, but the engine macam gonna die unless i give it some gas.
*
hmm.gif Oh no when u all motioned over crank mean more than 3 times rclxub.gif
For my case is any morning start more than 2 crank then I will consider overcrank. To me even my old old Waja also need only 1 crank to start & I can't really tolerate with more than 1 for my 6 months old EB.

As for my case my SC at Gopeng(Ipoh) put up my complaint into their "MRR" reporting system, was told to clean up the carbon/contaminant at the engine or throttle compartment!! (can't recall cos this was not reflect in the service summary). Since then my EB can start with only 1 crank for the past 1 week++ ....

Hope no more overcrank rclxms.gif rclxm9.gif

When I complained about overcrank to CoSE during my 10k km service, they diagnose with ECU update but overcrank still occurs.

Definitely will request for the carbon clean up during my next service. Hopefully can fix doh.gif

You should CONTINUE give them feedbak & updated them that they have yet to resolve the overcrank issued, asked them to adv what to do next to have this resolved. Last time I also compliant to them right after my 6K service & went back to check but can't find any abnormality then claimed my Brake safety lock causes all this nonsense... Till I raise my voice only then the foremen asked to log into "MRR" to get adv for next course of action.

Since your EB need more them 3 times to overcrank frequently, why don't you video/sound record it & show to them during the complaint?? This will definitely help to speed up the troubleshooting I think.. wink.gif

Finally able to record a video of the over crank happening.

I tried to crank the first time and the engine wasn't able to start up, I stopped after 4 cranks.
Quickly grabbed my camera to record the second start up try.

This happened at 9.30am in the morning, the weather was quite cold as it has been raining the past night.

Normal start up requires only 2-3 cranks. Over crank at least 6+ cranks for engine to start up.

Engine is able to start up after over crank, but feels very weak and will usually die, unless the accelerator pedal is stepped.

This has been happening ever since the first 1000km service. Recently had my ECU updated during my 10000km service as it was reported that the problem would be solved with the update, but obviously it has not been fixed.

Age of vehicle : 11 months
Mileage : 12000 km

That's good & you should shown this to the service center & have them seriously look into your problems. Told them if they can't have this resolved then escalated to Proton Headquarter.

Guys, just come to know from a friend of mine who also own an EB(~2years) that has replace his EB "steering shaft" for 3rd time & he told me Proton aware of this issued.

Understand that those EB which can't hold on to the center of the steer then we should check the "steering shaft" mount with an rubber holder(as per attached photo). Asked someone to steer in the car & observe from the right side of engine compartment to see is the shaft freeing move!!! My is freeing move & my friend told me this is mild & his 1 is very serious... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Will log an complained & hope they can have it fix when I did my 10K service... notworthy.gif
