This is how Exora Bold fared in 0-100 & quarter mile :

0-10 km/h: 0.99 sec
0-20 km/h: 1.58 sec
0-30 km/h: 2.23 sec
0-40 km/h: 3.00 sec
0-50 km/h: 3.88 sec
0-60 km/h: 4.90 sec
0-70 km/h: 6.04 sec
0-80 km/h: 7.38 sec
0-90 km/h: 8.89 sec
0-100 km/h: 10.58 sec
0-110 km/h: 12.51 sec
0-120 km/h: 14.72 sec
0-130 km/h: 17.28 sec

60': 3.11 sec @ 39.0 km/h
330': 7.68 sec @ 80.8 km/h
1/8 mi: 11.50 sec @ 104.0 km/h
1000': 14.79 sec @ 119.1 km/h
1/4 mi: 17.57 sec @ 130.7 km/h

I put in these figures into an Excel to calculate the horsepower. For aerodynamic drag, I assume Exora Bold has coefficient drag of 0.33 & frontal area of 27 square feet. Vehicle weight + my weight = 1555kg.

<script src='http://imageshack.us/shareable/?i=20120504090451cr.png&s=593' type='text/javascript'></script><noscript>user posted image</noscript>

Peak HP is 111.76. Assuming 18% power loss at transmission, engine hp would be about 136.29hp, within Proton's spec of 138hp, if u take 2-3% calculation error margin.

PS : Sorry no torque values as I cannot log RPM, and no dyno test as I'm on tight budget this month sad.gif

Should put this on first page, very good info here.

bec exora uses can bus. once cut/modify, will affect the whole car, including safety system
*
I try to search about Can-Bus. Just to find out exora really got this continental feature. But it work independent and restricted to luxury feature.

QUOTE
Proton made a lot of effort to spice up the spec sheet and they decided to offer features that are only found in vehicles that are a lot more expensive than the Exora. The key engineering leap that they took was the use of CAN-BUS wiring for the body-control function.

Basically, what this means is that many of the comfort, convenience and security functions of the car is run by a central processor. With more processing power, they could pack a lot more features into the Exora. Features such as the programmable remote locking system, hazard flashing during emergency braking, lane change mode of the turn indicator and auto rear wiper on reverse.

I know these are not ground breaking features but you don’t get them in the two named competitors, do you?

The truth is CAN-BUS wiring is a complicated affair and can cause a lot of problems with a car so Proton implemented it separately from other crucial functions. In more expensive cars, the can bus would run everything from engine management to traction control to the airbag trigger system. This is obviously the best way to maximise the processing power of the electronics but it also means that if the CAN-BUS goes on the blitz, nothing works.

By allowing the engine to run on its own processor and letting the airbag and ABS to operate independently, any fault with the CAN-BUS would only affect the comfort and convenience features and not cripple the engine.

Proton said they saved nearly two kilogrammes of wiring by using CAN BUS. less wiring means less complication and less assembly time and lower costs.

So far my standard EB only give me only small issues.
My FC avearage 9.8~10litre/100km, which is normal
Im light footer driver, yet EB quite hard to maintain below 2k RPM

Yesterday took my EB 20k service
Told em to reflash ECU if have new version, yet they unable to do so as they still in process renewing their yearly software license (need to come back next month) + other standard service, total price RM345.

They told me they reset my car setting.
Now applying speed <60km/h under 2kRPM much more easier
So far so good but feel car a bit "low timing" which i assume causing my EB idle below 1k RPM compare to last time.
*
RM345 for 20k services? I thought RM200++. I assume idle below 1k is normal. Mine idling at 800rpm at working temperature.

EB for Exora Bold or Elegant Brown.
OBD2 is amazing. Have another unit with CD unopened if anyone interested. Tucks away from view and does not obstruct the leg.

How much did you get yours? I think want to order from ebay. Ship from chinna.

Did anyone here service your eb every 10kkm? Follow manual book
Or 5kkm? What type of oil did u guys use? I mean the class range/code no?
*
I services every 10k. Use petronas F.Syn 3000 5W-40. FC drop abit since its viscosity higher than recommended.

I have no first hand experience of OWV problem, even though I've seen other videos and couldn't tell what's wrong. Google for "Exora Overcrank" and you'll find them.
Is yours cold start or warm start? Did your kind assistant wait for the fuel pump or the ABS light to stop before turning the ignition?

Update OBD2 reader, list of available OBD2 codes:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Notes:
- All listed with * are codes with data. Those not listed means no data.
- O2 sensor number 2 not working, meaning the post-CAT sensor is not installed.
- One things that mattered to me but no data is the MAF sensor. sad.gif

wai1460I can only read those with '*'.
*
Correct. I already check undercarriage and not found any o2 sensor. And also, i already dismount ours exora intake system from day 1 and not found and MAF sensor. Know or not, this CFE got 2 MAP sensor. One just before throttle body and another one at intake manifold body. Both from BOSCH brand. One thing i discover, throttle body, ECU and coil on plug is from Continental brand.

Proton exora got 3 years warranty or 100,000KM (whichever comes first).
The first service does not cover anything, you need to pay for the oil and I'm not sure about labour. My eb already 17K,
My eb got cvt warning light once but till now never send to SC,my bro check the car with OBD2 and he found that got no error. So i dont know why the cvt light came on,will complain when send to service at 21K.

EDIT:
Spark Plug for Exora CFE RM400 1set(4 piece).i heard that CFE using high performance spark plugs, that why expensive.it uses IRIDIUM spark plugs from HKS if I'm right, that's what I heard.
*
Yeah2 3Years or 100K KM. Free services charge for the 1st 3 services only. Other than that need to pay labour charge. All CFE engine use NGK Iridium ILKAR7G7.

Hey guys, I need some help. I'm confused with the service intervals for the EB.

My questions are,
1. Can the engine oil change at 6027km be done at any workshop? Or must go back to Proton SC for change?
you are not supposed to do any services outside other than proton services centre. We never know outside oil is genuine or apek ciplak one. But if you did who know.  tongue.gif
2. Should I follow the service booklet's 10,000km/6month service interval? Or should I follow the one printed on my 1000km service receipt (11027km/21stJuly2014)?
10k km.

Pardon me, I'm pretty new to the service interval thing for cars lol.

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

for the engine oil change/replacement for exora bold cfe? is it 10km? even using only semi-synthetic?? kindly advise.

Yes. Proton SC already change the rule. 10k km for semi or fully synthetic. For mineral only 5k km interval.

how u test your both car? driving experience?

for 0-100kmh,

his car did 12+ sec,
and mine need 14+ sec.
*
I think your car got problem or driver foot problem. Mine easily done 0-100KM in 11.1-11.7 sec. Even got video to proof.

i had full press gas pedal at start. correct?

i saw yours rpm stay at 3k a while, u only pressing half at start then full throttle at 70kmh-100kmh?

and u did install open pod, did it improve ur accelerate a lot?
*
No, throttle to metal from 0. TCU auto preserve the power for CVT, that why you see it stay at 3000rpm for a while before jump to 5000rpm. Mine is version 13.2 update on Jan 2014. Yes i did install open pod, not much improve since exhaust is stock. Removed CAT and you should see some more power increase, maybe. Here my spec:
1. Short intake Open pod from SIMOTA
2. 17" rim with 215/45 tire.
3. 38psi pressure on tire because i'm using hard tire wall.
4. Halogen air on tire instead of normal o2
5. ECU version 13.2.
6. Atmosphere breather vent.
7. D mode all the way.
8. RON95 petronas

Another tips for fast acceleration, Use L mode when start from 0, "until you see on the video the speed of the car when the rpm start to jump to 5k rpm", change to D mode.

bro did u mean Nitrogen instead of Halogen??

about control module? I dunno about this in manual book
u already install foglamp?
I did mine in Acc shop using H1 Pentair glass foglamp however the contact was not so good thru the lamp socket = my right hand side lamp off when I turn the switch..
the guy using ABS fuse to turn on the light..luckily I check back and switch to rear fog lmp fuse.
however this need me to clean up their messy work later and replace the socket or repair the socket..as im lazy to go back to the acc
may be next time I must DIY everything by myself  mad.gif  doh.gif
*
Ops. Nitrogen 99%. My bad. About body control module, yes it didn't even mention on manual. Looking on website and cannot find any datasheet about this continental BCM. I diy everything my self, ccfl and lamp installation on bumper. But stuck on linking the OEM switch to BCM to turn it on..

Coz it connect the wiring to dashboard indicator which basically need to study first or get diagram from P1 engineer@factory staff..ive even try it too but in the end i blame the secondary oem switch n incomplete wiring on the basic eb which showing improper link connection to the fglmp..but very nice using ccfl on your eb smile.gif

Btw bro..where did buy 1 set new oem wiring to link with your ccfl?how much it cost?
*
Almost give up about this project, i did contact Mr Dzul from EOCM to assist me. I even wanted to buy every OEM harness and OEM fog lamp from him just to get this project done. But he said he cannot help because i'm from Sarawak which is too far. Pity me, i just need abit assist on the phone and i'm really appreciate if he did. Guess i should try and error everything but scared it will spoil my BCM.. huhu.. About my ccfl, no oem wiring for this, i just do wiring from CCFL to small light on headlight and grounding to chassis. If you plug out the socket for "small light" on headlight, the one which mark out with number "1" is the power line. number "2" is grounding.

QUOTE(alexei @ May 27 2014, 03:28 PM)
rOnnyJustrOnhow can I help? I guess yours is not Premium?
My guess you need the wiring from the center console switch, to the driver fusebox, or BCM module, and finally to the foglight?
How to open the center console to check the wiring?
*
Yep mine is standard CFE. Easy to open the centre console. Use flat driver and slowly pull it out..

Noted. as 4 me I put additional relay and made direct contact to battery terminal as for the switch one cable is going thru the main hole from engine bay to cabin (connect the cable to the switch & the output cable connect to the fuse 10A "rear fglmp"). Of course i have to cut a rubber to make a hole for the cable going thru inside. Next i have to find black hose casing at electrical shop to cover all of the wiring.
can you PM me Mr.Dzul current contact no. tq  smile.gif
