for fc, how do you calculate? you pump full tank, check how much distance you travel, then pump full tank again?

or there's an easier way?

i understand there's a meter for the fc but i don't know how accurate it is. moreover, it is the fc at that particular time, not fc over a period of time

brotanThere are two FC meter, average and instantaneous. When car at idle, cycle the left LCD and you'll see the average first, then the instantaneous one. Instantaneous is showing -.- when car not moving.

wow, your car battery seems overprice. Outside sold around RM250 for maintainance free battery.

Can change outside without warranty void?

What kind of component they can cover for warranty with that battery?

If warranty just cover only battery, is good to get from others places with cheaper price.
*
I don't know if change the battery outside will void every warranty or not for other parts

Battery consider wear and tear part, most likely the warranty is just cover for battery.  smile.gif

Ok. Thx for the info

Anyway I sent the car in for other repairs

They say since I have weak battery, they can't test if the repair done is ok or not

So no choice let them change

Not sure if they telling the truth though

FC (fuel consumption) tips:
- This CVT is programmed to fully engage at 1.5k RPM.
- If stuck in jam, between 1.5k to 1.8k RPM is the most fuel economy at slow speed drive.
- If you want to speed up, step harder to reach 60kmh fast, and ease on the accelerator and cruise to maximize FC. Do not accelerate too slowly, or you will notice 15~16 liter/100km FC the whole way.
- To my knowledge, the poor FC is due to low compression ratio with no turbo boost.

######

looking through post #1. don't quite understand. to save fuel, we need to

1) maintain rpm at 1.5k to 1.8k all the way?
2) if want to speed up, drive very fast to 60kmh, then let go pedal and maintain 1.5k to 1.8k?

TS,

another thing. can you put the "engine die off during reverse or during engine start" at post #1 too? if no solution, can just put "no permanent solution found yet".

at least to show it is common issue

The engine die off so far, heard few things:
1. If you turn key immediately to start, will kena. Need to wait fuel pump sound off, or the ABS light off.
2. Some say caused by faulty PCV, ask SC to change. This cause also mixed with engine over-crank during cold start.*
3. Some say caused by ECU, need SC to reprog ECU and TCU.*
* SOS: LYN Preve and Saga forum.

Save fuel during city drive for this car is very tricky, mostly dealing with acceleration from standstill. Comments from RS Dynotune is that CFE engine is tuned to cun-cun 14.7 AFR, so IMO it doesn't command much response when accelerating.

For my car, the above you quoted were the things I learned, and I can only do 11~11.5 L/100km now. Based on the above, here are some contexts:
1. Traffic is slow, press fast on pedal let the car reach the right speed, relax the pedal and cruise. Can manage 3.3L/100km at constant speed.
2. From #1, traffic starting to move faster. Apply 3rd rule, then relax the pedal to cruise.
3. If climbing hill, make sure the speed is at least 60kmh. Can manage <13.7L/100km between 60~80kmh. Any lesser, the FC is higher.

When acceleration from standstill, I switch to SAT and notice the clutch engage at 1k RPM, to pickup more efficiently.
Cruising on highway also switch to SAT mode.
When downhill, SAT mode sometimes have lower engine drag.

thanks bro for the detail explanation

for the die off, the no 1 maybe can explain when just want to start engine. but if already drive for some time, still happens, also possible caused by the same thing?

regarding the FC, for no 3, you mean if speed less than 60kmh, the fc will be high?

ic. thanks for the info

i always thought in general, high speed = high FC
