This happen 2 weeks back.
When I got my PS4 from Sony, that Sony store didn't have games. So I was looking for games around. Wanted to get desperately a game to play. So decided Killzone since it should be slightly cheaper since the game is already out. Went to pertama complex ground floor got a shop. He charging me RM 280, wanted to leave but kena pestering "how much you want" stuff like that ... don't want to elaborate further on this.

Then I went digital mall sec 14. One shop (unfriendly guy) rm 260 and another just behind that shop at RM 205.

I wish you guys can post those rip off shops so others would be careful. Now I either get it from Impulse or download. I hate when ppl are bloody rude/dun want to layan and charging sky high.

Gamers Hideout at 1U is also another rip off shop. They selling Infamous SS for RM179 when it should be RM169. The boss & staff there is also rude & arrogant.
*
when i first bought my ps4 at OU, all the shops were selling more than RM 200 per game except for the one situated nearest to ISETAN and Espresso Lab.

I disagree that the staffs in the GH are rude. Perhaps, this is a subjective issue because I'd bought games more than 5 times with them and they were not that bad, really. U just need to talk to them and they will respond. That's my experience lah... smile.gif

Urmmm... on shops selling at a higher price, when i saw the price, I will usually tell them politely that 'i'll think about' and thank them before leaving. They cant force you to buy.

There was 1 time I was at bangsar wanted to get a ps vita (the latest) as birthday present and a shop quoted me RM 1.6k when I bought at the same shop at OU nearest to ISETAN and Espresso lab for RM 699.

By the way, I am not affiliated with any gaming shop. I just happened to purchased at the same shop because i thought it was reasonable.

There's no harm for discussion actually, I agree with TS, difference price of RM20 is fine, but mark up to RM100 difference is disaster. I too experienced once before, I purchase all my games from a seller all times which based on the first few times I did price comparison with other shops, they are competitive, but one day I found out the last game I bought from them is expensive RM60 than other sellers. I don't blame them entirely though, but myself don't compare each game (Like I am so free haha) I purchase.

So moral of the story, compare the price for every deal. Those shops that sell disaster price won't survive long, especially with current economy. How many "water fish" they can hook up so lucky la?

I know for a fact that a shop in bangsar has 2 prices. One is Lyn price, the other is a ripoff price for walk in. Coz they got a lot of expats there who don't mind being ripped off.

in the end nobody forces anyone to pay ridiculously , as far as i know its still legal to earn a profit no matter how unjust it is,its just business...

best rule of thumb, do your research before purchase, if u are limited in budget and out to find cheapest and lowest deals....that is...

no point crying over spill milk kalau terkena by them d, its free will after all...

Actually, I find GH rather alright. The person I occasionally spoke to, Lavi, is very patient and well-mannered. I personally walked into their stores before just to check out some games, their staff were quite alright. I guess everyone has different views :/

lavi is the one at Tropicana mall right? usually, i go to OU's and deal with Eugene. I was there once to check out some games. Wanted to get NFS PS4 but i cancelled my reservation when it first came out. Knowing that i wanted to buy, she helped me to check her list of booking and found that there's extra stock with the shop. Voila, got mine.

Last time during this section's olden days, whenever I bash GH's non existent customer service, hordes of its minions will flame me, now why these people tak kena wei?1 totally unfair biggrin.gif

as for the price, I dont mind what price the seller want to put, its their shop. usually when I ask the price of their game, and they quoted, i just back off, and when some smart alex asks me, hey boss, what price you want? this is ori game you know..then I will say

"wei, you think i just started playing video games ka because lat time i was into gadgets / pc? "

biggrin.gif

Thats why I prefer PSN purchase. Less hassle, click buy, tow hours later i will be playing the game.

But my fav shop is of course Gamers Solution at Pertama Complex. They are honest and friendly. dont mind paying a bit extra for a good customer service experience and a happy ending biggrin.gif

During last Dec, i bought my killzone at RM220 in 1 of MV gameshop, I admit I am a bit anxious to test my newly bought PS4 that time. However, in the same day I saw it was selling at RM180 in MaxLink4Gamers Sri Petaling. It really worth my RM40 to learn where to buy my future games icon_rolleyes.gif

Although I have no comment on the attitude of staff, Infamous SS for RM179 is reasonable for windows shopping as they need to give commission to staff for selling the game. RM169 is what you normally can get only by buying online.

true, NOW that is a good trend. digital distribution does not come with logistics cost etc, hence the game should be cheaper. I bought the physical media for RM119.. then the PSN version for 80 plus,.. a good deal I must say.

I stopped buying disc & going for digital download. Occasional bundle sales, discounts, price drop is awesome. PS+ free games (more like rental) actually awesome even though slower than us & uk region but it'll get here eventually.

I like both. I'm a sucker for good bargains. Some games I prefer on disc and hence I usually buy after 6 months when prices drop in LYN (unfortunately not in rip-off shops) unless its a Collector's Edition version. However some games with good bargains on PSN also I sapu (example NFS Most Wanted (PS3) at USD 5!!!! or One Piece Kaizoku Ultimate Bundle at GBP 7!!!! are the recent ones I bought).

Instead of listing the ripped off shop, how about getting the good shop listed?

We can know which shop cheap, and the shop can get free advertisement also. Win-win situation tongue.gif
*
Good shops should be listed as opposed to rip off list ... as some may have mentioned, willing buyer willing seller so it is unfair to say that they are rip off shops. but most of us who surf around lowyat forum should know that there are shops which are better in terms of pricing.

perhaps if someone wants to help compile a list of Good shops?

I've personally dealt with
heavyarm
playtime bangsar (must call or PM them in advance and inform you're from lowyat forum)

these 2 ppl have given me non sky high prices smile.gif

Gamer's hideout I feel is slightly more on the expensive side
