DNG is raw image ...which is almost 0 compression compared to JPG ..but it will used up a lot of space of your phone
if you didnt plan to use photoshop to edit your photo ..just use JPEG will do

True to that, I need to transfer my photos every month to my PC just to keep the phone speed optimised.
Takes up space even faster if I take in RAW format for some Photoshop fun session, need to transfer the photos after each session. sweat.gif

Gd mrng, guys. Where is the best place to send our L1020 for service? Can those Microsoft Stores accept phones for services eg. in KLCC or Sunway Pyramid?

My L1020 has died for more than ½year already, trying to revive it once in a while but no luck. Tried all those flashing method but no luck. I strongly believe it's the motherboard or the rom/hardisk.

I only know of 1 Microsoft/Nokia Service centres in Malaysia. It's in Amcorp Mall - Office Tower. You can't send your phone to any of the Microsoft Stores for servicing. Those are only retail outlets.

Ok thanks. Called them just now, basically they said it's the board, and it will costs rm500++ alone (excluding other faulty parts if found) and doesn't include any warranty at all. She politely suggested to get a new phone, at least a new phone has a new warranty.

No point spending rm500++ for a non-warranty service/repair board. If the newly repaired phone stops working the moment I walk out of the shop, there goes 500++ sweat.gif

Haiishh.. baru 1year+ guna.. dah rosak..

My 1020 Camera Focus failed nearly 1 years now. It can't focus clearly on object farer than 10 feet.

Always can't focus or focus with blurry image. I saw quit a lot of people having this issue, and I strongly believe that it is 8.1 update caused the focus not working (The update for the continuous focus support for new models that broke this).

I'm surprised that there's no post about this in Lowyat.

I've tried to revert back to WP8 no seems no way to do so.

Sad...I got my new Z3+ but found that the camera is no way near to 1020 standard...sad...

Wow, I didn't expect this Topic "Lumia 1020" still on Page 1. It's been a while since it was first release and it was been a long while since I last login too.

Oh well, I just like to share and probably hear out from you guys any tips. My Lumia 1020 (I was in the Storekini's Pre-Order) somehow having difficulty charging starting last 2 months. Gradually weeks by weeks, it couldn't be charge at all. I suspect it is the connector. Hopefully not the battery.

I currently using my wife's Lumia 925. I starting to like it - light and slightly faster than 1020, but I couldn't like the Camera or its photo! I still very miss my Lumia 1020 very much although it is slow sometimes. My lumia 1020 has been capturing and building plenty of memorable memories of my life. My Wedding, Honeymoon, overseas holidays, those tiny bits of daily stories. In great photos quality.

I am not sure anyone of you have try this.
I couldn't afford to get the inflated CC-3066 1020 Genuine Wireless Casing @eBay so I got myself a 925 Wireless Casing. Planning to move the Charging Parts from the casing to my usual 1020 Casing so I could experiment trying to charge it wirelessly. Still waiting for my Nokia Wireless Plate to arrive. Should be anytime soon. Wish me luck, guys!

Have a great weekend too!

You got me there!
I just realise, even if I could get the modify Wireless Charging Cover work my Lumia 1020, I still wouldn't be able to extract the high resolution of the 41MP photos. But I guess that's the trade off, I would able to face. Since the 5MB Photo size are quite sufficient for everyday routine.

Nevertheless, ^pomen_GTR^, I would like to know where you might send in your L1020 for repair and the cost too.

Same here. 5mb is sufficient for me most of the time.

You let me know your progress.
I am skeptical the local small shop know how to properly open the phone. Lumia single polycarbonate doesn't look like have the typical side opening.

I know there's one seller actively looking to sell off his original wireless charging cover at RM50. Perhaps you can have a look?

Btw it's not difficult at all to open the phone. I myself open the phone and change the shell from white to yellow color through youtube tutorial. So it shouldn't be a problem for local headphone shop to open it.

Yes the phone is slow at times especially the camera. I have tried to replace it with the highest specs of android phone but at the end i still comes back to this phone somehow.

Thanks for pointing out, chaukeng.
Unfortunately, the WTS is closed. It had been sold. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3173791

Oh. Interesting. Where you manage to get the Yellow color casing? eBay?

Yup, agreed. The camera is the slowest. I am even disappointed that Lumia 1020 doesn't officially get Living Images. It was allowed for a short while under the Developer Preview. The Living Images was working fine with my Lumia 1020. No crash or anything, and I don't understand why they pull it from 1020 due to "performance" reason.

One of my friend recently got Z3 and he was excited to see me because I own 41MP Camera. He want to do a comparison. Z3 which just release not long ago, surprisingly still not able to beat Lumia 1020 - a 2 years old phone and already consider underpowered when it was first release. Before this, I did realize that I wouldn't find any other phone that I would fell in love again. And my friend's Z3 just reaffirmed that. Therefore, I am not planning to get the coming Lumia Flagship 940/950 or whatever it is called. I am willing to wait until 2016 or even early 2017 for 1020 successor.

Counting... Wow, I have 50-60 Live Tiles.
Not all are frequently used. I think the number of frequent Live Tiles I used daily is like about 10 only.

I am waiting for Windows 10 Mobile to officially release. Once that happen, I will keep my Live Tiles to the minimal. I kinda lazy to do now, and later a few months, sorting out again.
