They removed the recent photo taken review circle button, but now ur gallery (in the Camera app) actually views the full res photo when zoomed in. And yeah, photo loads and zooms in/out faster. The 'reframe' tool is integrated in the camera's recent photo viewing as well..

UPDATE:

Holy crap, Living Images does work on 8.0!

1. Download the free Nokia Camera BETA app on the store. LINK

2. Run the app. Tap on the '...' and go to Setting. Tap the 'use default settings'. Restart the app.

3. Snap a photo, the words "Saving Living Images" will appear.

4. Tap on the review circle, then ur Living Images will play.


Strangely, can only play the Living Images via Camera BETA app.. or else just a photo on the normal Nokia Camera app.

Is it worth to trade in the 1020 with the new 930 @ icon?

41mp with 32gb sure fills up faster than 20mp with 32mb
im diggin the new specs though.. but heard the upcoming 1020 successor..

I'm updating and currently the phone restarted and now it's at the cogwheel screen with a small progress bar at the bottom.

It's been 10mins, and the progress bar isn't progressing.. am I stuck or should I wait longer?

For cyan, it's worth the wait. Would there be anything lost from this update e.g. whatsapp chats history, ie bookmarks, contacts? Did backup prior to update, had a terrible experience with black update, dont wanna repeat history.. lel

Haha.. last update Black, done with pre-update. Now, wanna update the cyan but need wifi. Can I use data instead of wifi, by checking the 'Automaticcally dload updates if my data settings allow it' option? Data gua unlimited banyak sehh..

Yeah, gonna update later at home. Anyway, read in some WP forums 1020's thread, their camera stops functioning after cyan update. Anyone facing this prob after cyan update? Suddenly skeptical to update..

Finally, I was able to download the huge update yesterday (borrowed dad's mifi). I've backed up everything possible via windows explorer and within phone (whatsapp, app lists, etc) a few minutes ago.

Finally, updated to 8.1 Storage before update ~900mb free, after update 3.4gb free

Don't see any Living Images in the default camera app and Nokia Camera app, but the Nokia Camera BETA still has it (there's a bug fix update recently). I thought it would've been integrated in Cyan but nope.

I too upgraded from N8 to L1020

Me toom eyeing at 1520 or something else.. the 4K 24frames per second (at 8mp per frame = 192mb per second?) definitely will need external memory support.

Did u soft reset after the update?

Yeah. Always reboot after a full charge, and I always soft reset once a month or twice a month if something hogs the memory or apps become unresponsive.

Can't the photos be saved as DNG?

Anyway, it's been a year.. so, replaced my scratched screen protector and changed to a new casing. Previously used the white Nillkin Hard Matte Case + clear screen protector (thread link) but after one year the case faded to light brown Should've bought the brown colour, no discolouration (sis's 925, also bought from same seller), still like brand new after 1y+.

Now, trying the white TPU case + clear screen protector which just arrived this morning (Lelong link) Hope no discolouration or deformation.

How big is the update file size? Gonna dload while lunching at some wifi-enabled restaurants

Finally, updated to Denim. Whole night's dload and installation went smooth. Woke up this morning to a "Welcome to Lumia Denim" notification

First thing I did was, charge the battery And honestly, charging in Denim is super fast compared to Cyan. Usually will get btwn 30-40% per hour charge, but after I've done bathing n dressed up ~30mins, I checked the phone batt status and it showed 57% per hour (everything was on.. lte, wifi, gps, cortana, and essential bground apps). Excellent!

Then, the tile arrangement begins. Loving the live folders. And now the Battery Saver (small) tile shows the percentage whereas it didn't in cyan.

Also, FINALLY a data switch in the notification centre. No more going into settings just to turn on/off data anymore.

Anyway, wish it had the Lumia Camera 5 but alas due to hardware limitations. Bummer.

What issue are u referring to? It went well for me on the first try. Just make sure u got good wifi speed, or else the update will face some errors (disconnection).
