Engine failure due to either crash or just mechanical problems. Saw thw tow truck towing it at about 3am at the back stretch, quite a pity I must say..

QUOTE(mattchin @ Aug 28 2006, 08:03 PM) has any1 here tried out the iridium spark plugs? i heard my SC fren said tat it is unstable.. but in which circumstances.. i haf no idea at all.. so... plz comment.. I hear from the performance kakis at g2c, iridium plugs are the best that money can buy. All of them run on denso's iridium. Platinum is longer lasting but iridium gives better power. Even the price should say something too, platinum ones are i think 80 bucks for 4? but iridiums are 165-210 for 4.

well, i do agree that the prices also speaks abt the performance of products, hence the phrase, good things no cheap(Disclaimer: i'm not refering to anything mentioned here is no good)
Volker Iridium cost abt RM250/4pcs...

QUOTE(Praetor @ Aug 28 2006, 11:47 PM) ha then maybe i saw it wrongly lah... by the way the car retired early. anybody knew what went wrong? Oh u mean that blue-colored Gen2 with the many colorful motifs and stickers izzit? Yups, that fellow has a G2Club sticker at his windscreen... A bit surprising that he retired early... I was thinking that the car can go all the way actually! This post has been edited by ClieNut Gadget Freak: Aug 29 2006, 07:40 PM

QUOTE(rcracer @ Aug 30 2006, 09:29 AM) sorry i meant platinum lasts longer than stock plugs but no significant power improvement. Iridium it seems gives both. ic.... but have u tried autolite duble platinum? ususally the problem with spark plugs is the wear on the tip and electrod, the duble patinum has platinum on both tip and electrode compared to the normal platinum that has it on the tip only. wear will cause inconsistant spark and this reduce power. the only drawback is u got to change it every 40K km (hopefully that long). i am using it now and i can say they are really good and value for money. i know irridium is good and last longer, but how is the performance after lets say 30K km? i have used NGK irridium on my previous car but it seems that after about 20-25K km, the performance seems to drop. not yet try on gen2 though. the only ones that have been proven is volker (on paper)... how is denso or ngk? Personally i have never used any other except the stock ones, what i said here is based on what i've read or heard from them. One member had some issue using volker iridiums though.

go to Proton Service Centre to ask for it...
Alternatively, you can ask around at chop shop to see if they've got any. you never know, rite.
