QUOTE(mattchin @ Oct 31 2006, 09:57 PM) hmmm... another noobie Q from me.. cam pulley are also called cam gears, they are the gears/pulley connected to the end of the camshaft that is turned by the timing belt.wat does a cam pulley does? what is the difference between stock and the aftermarket? usually, its just a normal gear/pulley, but adjustable then can adjust la adjust means that u can either advance or retard the timing of the cams to improve the engine response. in simple terms. advancing the cams means that u can get better low end (torque) and retarding will get better top end (HP). of course we need to get into techincal details on how it works, an how much to advance or retard, but i think enuf to know basic la so for our cars, most ppl will go for advance setting to improve the low end, but there are some who likes high revving who will retard it a bit too. either way, its well worth it to install... |

(there r some which is not) normally the hi beam will b halogen... h4 lo only HID is cheaper This post has been edited by eng98: Nov 1 2006, 03:38 PM |

hahaha... just joking with u lar, bro... relax.
btw, there's some hooha over at the G2C forum abt the airbag are not deployed after a front collision and I believe that many of us are still semi-concious on how and wat condition of collision will only activate the SRS system. Below is the write-ups from adie5333 from the G2C forum. QUOTE(http://www.gen2club.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=213077#213077) Deployment Of Front Air Bags. Hope you guys understand more abt the SRS system... I do now... The front airbags will inflate in the following cases. When the vehicle suffers a moderate to severe frontal impact within the shaded area between the arrows.(equivalent to a head-on collision with a solid wall that does not move or deform at a speed of approximately 15mph(25km/h) or higher) * Because the SRS air bag inflates at a very high speed and with great force, contact with the air bag durin the initial stage of air bag inflation from the steering wheel or dashboard, could result in severe or fatal injury. This is why it is critical to always properly wear your seat belt and maintain a proper seating / driving position. *When the SRS air bag is inflated, it makes a sudden, fairly loud noise and releases some white smoke and powder. However, this does not indicate a fire in the car and produces no permanent side effect on the human body. *Immediately after the air bag is inflated, the iar bag and several of its component parts will be very hot. If you touch them, you could be burned. The front air bags may not inflate in the following cases *When the vehicle impacts a utility pole, tree or other narrow object. *When the vehicle travels under the body of another vehicle such as a truck. *When the vehicle is involved in an obligue / diagonal frontal impact. *When another vehicle impacts the rear of your vehicle. *When another vehicle impacts the side of your vehicle. *When your vehicle rolls over on to its side or roof. *When the vehicle impacts an eleveted median / island, curb, etc. *When the Vehicle travels over a deep hole / pot hole. *whenthe vehicle drives down a steep slope and hits the ground. The amount of damage (or the lack of damage) a vehicle body suffers does not necessarily indicate whether the SRS air bag should or should not have an inflated in an impact. In certain types of frontal collisions, the vehicle's body stucture is designed to absorb an impact to help protect the occupants from harm. Therefore, even when the front of the vehicle suffers significant deformation, the SRS air bag might not deploy because the impact was absorb by the collapsible body stucture. The SRS air bag may inflate when the bottom of your vehicle suffers an impact while driving. Drive with care to avoid road conditions that cause an impact to the bottom of the vehicle. If such road conditions are unavoidable, drive slowly over or toward such road sufaces. This Info is olso from SRS air bag and MMC cheers. This post has been edited by shackks: Nov 3 2006, 08:44 AM |
