==> You'll Never Walk Alone <==

http://www.unbase.com/n/5853623009

When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm there's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
For your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Mental game. We always have this habit of making things harder for ourselves. Shakey first half but we picked up in the 2nd half. Need to sort our the defence and midfield - shouldn't have conceded those goals.

Credit to Cardiff for trying to get something out of the the game but there can only be one true Reds and that's Liverpool Reds. F off Vincent Tan.

Lol yea, I wonder why did Sterling do that, is it because he doesn't know Suarez is on 2 goals?

Title race really heating up. Arsenal really gifted Chelsea today's game. But never mind destiny still in our hands. I just AW recover fast enough to draw or knock our MCity (same goes for MU)

We are a mental team. I bet we will ship a few goals against Sunderland and still outscore them but when it matters, we will notch a clean sheet again against Spurs. This team is beyond comprehension.

Still, anybody felt nervous at any point of the game? biggrin.gif Neither did I. I knew we would score 5. Glad we broken that score barrier.

Ditto on Vinc*nt Tan.

the negative comment i wanna give about the team :

- agger is too slow
- gerrard red card is getting near and nearer
- we will struggle against pacy/full-mental/mobile attacker
- coutinho should play from SIDE-to-CENTER
- we need sterling or ball carrier in the team
- this is why i dunt like to overhype bout out defender coz they are not that good actually
- coutinho should grow his old curly hair
- we should play sterling 1st half and coutinho 2nd half so that we may know 1st how wide the space will open for the through ball
- hendo is leaky in early and late game

What a game! Again our offence bailed us out. BR and the coaching staff needs to plug the leak.

Nice to see Sakho given a few min on the pitch.

Arsenal was a big disappointment. Was hoping they can at least get a draw; which will be best for us. Chelsea and City won big and we will need to keep on pushing.

Make us dream!

Here's how my support priority looks like :

1. Liverpool win
2. Any team that loses / draw that will give Liverpool advantage in the league
3. Any former Liverpool player (except Diouf)
4. Our neighbors (yes I like Mersey teams to win)

Btw, Rooney just scored a halfway line goal LOL

honestly, i dont see anything wrong in that. he's cardiff manager, he's there to talk about the game vs liverpool and about his own team. NOT about liverpool and their title credentials. just because he's ex manutd player doesnt mean u have to give him stick. wink.gif

Suarez now has 6 hattricks in 2 seasons.

He also has scored 65 Premier League goals tied with Torres. Next in line is Stevie G whie only Fowler & Owen are the other 2 had more PL goals than Suarez.

Sturridge and Suarez has outscored 15 teams in the EPL!

And he's not even at his best today LOL!

Well I had hoped the specialists in failure would do lfc a favour against chelsea but they blew it as usual.

Hoping that city will drop points against arsenal and united but these two teams are unbeliveably crap. They will probably help increase city goal difference.

Gerrard has 9 yellow card now...

5 yellows before 31st December = 1 game ban.

10 yellows before 10th april = 2 game ban.

ok noted. 9 yellows. so looks like we are bound to lose him for 2 games. he's still adjusting to his "pirlo" role. and he has had a number of bad fouls.. just hope hes around for the big ones against chels, manc and spurs at home.

This is somehow very weird to ask Gerrard to collect a yellow purposely. biggrin.gif But its the best solution for Gerrard quickly get the 2 matches ban before City and Chelsea games.

Uh? Why care so much about them? I am sure the same fellas also said that we are nothing without Steven Gerrard in 2005, 2006, 2007.

So in conclusion is, if we are average team without SAS, that means we are world class team now because we got SAS. LOL icon_rolleyes.gif

Daniel Sturridge has revealed how former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres convinced him that moving to Anfield was the right choice.

Sturridge has scored 28 goals in 35 league games since heading north from Chelsea, where he endured a disappointing four-year spell.

The England international has revealed how he spoke to Torres, who enjoyed a prolific time in front of the Kop before heading to Stamford Bridge in a British record £50 million deal, prior to joining the Merseyside club.

"[Torres] always spoke very highly about Liverpool," Sturridge told the Daily Mail.

"When we were at Chelsea together he would say, 'Liverpool are amazing'. It wasn't just him - it was Yossi Benayoun as well. They both said, 'That club is the best I have played for'.

"They said the fans will make you feel amazing and, at the time, I thought I need a bit of that in my life because I was low right then.

"I need to feel good about myself, so it was an easy decision to come here. My dad [Michael], my uncle [Dean, the former Derby striker] and I all shared the same opinion: this was the best place to go.

"When Liverpool came in, it was one of those situations that I just wanted to get up the M6 as quick as possible, sign on the dotted line and get to work.

"I was desperate to get here and show what I could do. I was hungry and I am still hungry. There is so much for us to achieve."

Oh, you havent seen the worse lot. I have. Just the other day, I met a guess who, MU supporter, who told me that Rafael's handball wasnt deliberate but Johnson's handball was. Rooney wasnt diving but Sturridge was.

You just cant argue with people like that. Sense does not formulate properly in their brain. Emotion and pride are all that matters. So they love football only because of the result, not because of the sheer joy of watching beautiful game.

Most goals scored in a season: 103, Chelsea (2009–10)

We are at 82 with 8 games to go. 22 needed to break that record. Means average 3 goals per game. Do-able? smile.gif

Definitely doable. All our Sses r having a goal day and I'd like Suarez to hit 12 of them and break the 40 goal barrier.

I've been critical of Johnson this season but ever since he got back from injury he's been immense. This is the old Johnson we know and loved; potent at going forward and dependable at defending. Hopefully his good form keeps on rolling.

And a shout out to Gerrard. What a massive player he's turned out to be this season. We've deployed him in 2-3 different midfield roles this season and none seem to be working. And when we deployed him in a deeper role i thought this may well be his last chance to fit into the team and I was very skeptical about it. But he's been utterly terrific. He still makes the odd mistakes here and there but he's growing in this new role - to a point that i can't imagine anyone else taking over this specialized role. Not even Lucas. It looks like we might still be able to milk another 2-3 years from him. Amazing player and leader.

Spot on! I felt so sorry when I was criticising him so much previously, and now look at him, he had been a better man, not to forget for the past 3 games, he is one of the best performer on the pitch! This is the old Johnno we had been missed!

Don't know that did you guys noticed that most of our goals vs Cardiff came from the right hand side, with the perfect understanding and chemistry between Hendo and Johnno, perfect through ball from Hendo to Johnno all the time.

I guess we could maintain this line up with the rotation of Gerrard, Hendo, Allen, and Lucas in the midfield. And maybe rotation between Agger and Sakho in the defence.

Regarding Gerrard, he could be like Pirlo next season, or the season after.

Yep the right flank was good. Kept Bellamy quiet and they were great at building up attacks. The first goal was patiently crafted from that side of the pitch. We kept on stretching and probing, and them bam a through ball from Hendo to Johnson. I thought Hendo was immense as a box to box midfielder - good passing and he made quite a few forward runs. It's not easy to play box to box - it really drains you yet Hendo made it look so easy.

Johnson is having a yoyo season. Good in some terrible in some. Same to Skrtel. Yesterday, Skrtel was massive. His 2nd goal was a centre forward strike!

Anyway, we keep fighting and can't do much about others. We win, we put pressure on the others. Will hope ManU win against their noisy neighbour. That will pile more pressure on City while ManU will get to keep Moyes longer!

Yesterday was a big letdown when Ars go down so easily against Chelsea. Was hoping for at least a draw but....

Anyway, we need to be tighter at the back against Chelsea and City. Cardiff certainly expoited our LB.

Hendo did a terrific job, but his shooting and finishing still very disappoint, he tried a few by himself, and all of it flew to the moon. I really hope Suarez and Gerrard could give Coutinho, Hendo, oh and Allen a shooting lesson every week!

I think its the best decision to collect the next yellow on the next match, to be able to be back for Chelsea City game. But I guess no need to intentional collect a yellow, Gerrard will most probably get a yellow too, he had been so rough when he play the deeper roles.

I just realize Suarez was the catalyst for our 3rd goal. He took out the 2 Cardiff players. First from freekick which Mutch took in his groin and then Suarez took another shot from the rebound which hit Catherine in the face. Cardiff down to 9 didn't have enough players to cover the far post.

Many didnt realised that Johnson was asked to play through the pain, which is why his form drop. He was lacking in pace and power. He played till he cant do it anymore. As to why he was asked to play through the pain, God knows why. Maybe BR didnt trust Flanno will make the stride back then till he actually did.

So I am not surprised Johnson regained his form. He is after all a quality player.

can i say we need one more defensive midfield and fullbacks that can play right and left?

Absolutely. We need long leg pacy DM. Fullback, aint too sure. Flanno is doing well except for the game against Cardiff in the first half, Enrique will be back, Johnson is here and Kelly is on the bench. Then we got iLori in the waiting list.

Maybe if the right player is available and versatile, then maybe. DM is a must. We got heavy fixtures with UCL involvement. SG and Lucas wont be enough to cover that position. Hopefully that DM is also versatile enough to cover multiple positions.

And we need a supersub striker.

Great save, great keeper. Still only 23 years of age. Hoping Mignolet will turn up like him.

*
Indeed, if we could get a quality fullback, like Luke Shaw or Coentrao, then why not. If we can't get hold of a quality fullback, I'd say don't waste the fund to get any at all.

DM really is a must during summer transfer, hope we could get the likes of Yaya Toure, can bring the ball forward, superb in interception, most importantly could hold the ball and wait for the strikers to go forward, not like typical poor DM who simply clear the ball away without target, thus losing possession.

Subersub striker? What if Aspas and Borini turn out to be supersub next season? laugh.gif

I'd want Luke Shaw for fullback.
As for forward, Shaqiri, Costa, and Kross would be perfect.

He probably still hurt for being trashed by old rival. And I think the reporter was bit trolling by asking him to analyse Liverpool title credential... biggrin.gif

Suarez's most important contribution was taking out two players before we scored our third or there would surely have been a man at the far post smile.gif

QUOTE(hfi @ Mar 23 2014, 01:43 PM)
I just realize Suarez was the catalyst for our 3rd goal. He took out the 2 Cardiff players. First from freekick which Mutch took in his groin and then Suarez took another shot from the rebound which hit Catherine in the face. Cardiff down to 9 didn't have enough players to cover the far post.

6 points gap with Arsenal having played a game more. And Everton has a number of tough fixtures (Arsenal, City, Utd) With 8 games left, I think its pretty much confirmed that the current top 4 will remain top 4 come end of season.

Stoke has been excellent in the month of March, they have beaten Arsenal 1-0, Hammers 3-1. Norwich 1-1, and today 4-1. They are high on confidence and on a fine run. It's a setback for Villa who couldn't keep a fine run despite having 2 unbeaten run (4-1 Norwich & 1-0 Chelsea). They have consistently inconsistent through out the season (thus far). I've watched the entire game and i'm impressed with the way Stoke approached the game despite going down in the 4th min. They came strong and cruised with 4 fine goals. Stoke has pretty good record at Brittania this season, they've only lost twice and it's hard to break them down on their home soil.

I think statistically Stoke on superb run, they've got Hull City at home and Chelsea away, in the next 2 games. Could be a heartbreaking game for Chelsea (hopefully)!

For the first time in a long time, I wasn't panicking or worried that Liverpool were led by the opposition. I just somehow knew Liverpool were gonna make it their game. Lots of mistake and misplaced passes. Our defense as usual woeful especially on the left. But kudos to the team, they kept calm and played the game their way and got the goals and win they deserved.

truth be told, the mistakes and missed passes was really frustrating to watch. the team kept me sitting on the edge of the chair for the entire game sweat.gif

cant recall much about the 1st 2 goals but the third goal conceded IMO was both Cissokho and Agger's fault. Cissokho's defending is simply horrible which lead to the cross while Agger simply stands where he is, clueless doh.gif

Yea, they got their positioning wrong. The left backline exposed easily and all 3 of Cardiff's goals came/started from there. To my surprise though, Glen Johnson had a pretty good game, he was defending well (enough) and it's been a while since I saw his darting forward runs. Cardiff's left backline was having a bad day too cause a few of our goals came from that side.

Liverpool hurt will lift us for Manchester City clash says Michael Carrick

MICHAEL CARRICK believes the simmering hurt from their recent thrashing by Liverpool means they go into tomorrow's Manchester derby in no mood for a repeat capitulation.

By: Matthew DunnPublished: Mon, March 24, 2014

It also continued the rehabilitation of a side that were on their rockers after that 3-0 home defeat against one of their fiercest rivals that began with the 3-0 win against Olimpiakos.

The thing is that United players just are not used to being embarrassed in front of their own fans.

Carrick said: "It was a bad day for us against Liverpool and we suffered just as much as the fans. It's horrible after a game like that.

"We're well aware of what those games mean to everyone and, believe me, it means the same to the players.

"The dressing room after Liverpool was as you'd expect, really. We were very disappointed and frustrated. You don't watch the telly or leave the house for a couple of days if you can help it.

"You suffer from those results just like everybody else. Thankfully we had a game to look forward to pretty quickly so that helped to give us something else to focus on. But something like that, losing against Liverpool at home, hurts badly and it's not a nice thing to go through.

Same feeling mate. Not only that they didnt panick (just look at the 2 comeback goals). I hardly see anyone rushing to take potshots as in previous eras.

Well some say fight against relegation battlers will be equally tough. Expect them to be physically challenging Chelsea as well. You can also say title is Liverpool to lose as if Liverpool wins all their matches (including the one against Chelsea) mathematically we'll win the league. The only caveat is Mcity as even if we win against MCity, they still be 1 / 2 points ahead of us if they win all their matches. Maybe April 27 will be like an EPL final as thats our match against the Blues.

Btw, I expect MCity to drop some points en route. They may be great but they are not that great.

But something like that, losing against Liverpool at home, hurts badly and it's not a nice thing to go through.
good!..now go out and beat city will ya! thumbup.gif

Isnt if funny that about 20 yrs ago, we beat Newcastle and let MU win the league title. I remember sometimes in the past few years am torn between wanting Reds to win or letting opposition to win so MU cant creep to match our league titles. I can see the role being reversed now and in coming seasons brows.gif

from what I see, its not only the tactic that BR put Cissokho and Allen to replace Sterling and Flanno. its also to protect them. if u realize that recently England media make such a big hype regarding good performance about Sterling and Flanno, especially Sterling.

this is to less the attention for them. so less pressure for our young players.

This is OT but I think it's important for you to know.

Received a call. IVR message stating that I had spent RM XXXX using my Ambank CC which I do not have. Spoke to an "operator" and at this point I was already suspicious because the English they used was pretty bad. Anyway he said that someone was using my card at KLIA and the transaction was RM XXXX. Asked if I would approve it and I said, "no". He then checked on my phantom account and gave me the credit card number and outstanding amount of RMXXXX. Said that it could be fraud case and asked me to call Bank Negara to make a report. Gave me a number to call and told me to speak to the officer to make a report and have him contact Ambank within 3 days after he was done with the investigation.

I immediately called a mate of mine, who was from Ambank to verify this. He found no record of any account. Told me the same thing happened to his wife. In the end, they'll try to get you to transfer all your funds into a designated account for safety so that fraudsters can't get to it.

Can't be too careful these days. The call I received came from this number - 0321787777

I got a call from "Maxis" today claiming my number is chosen for a special deal. They wanted My details but I blew them off saying i don't need any extras. Barely call people nowadays anyways since there is whatsapp/viber/Tango and everything. Called my friend at Maxis and he said that deal doesn't exist.

Number is +603-6730 9016. I've seen threads of people asking of this number since 2011/2012.

thanks for the general info.

Always threat these telemarketers (legit or not) by claiming PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act 2010). Say that you didn't consent on having your personal details being used for commercial purposes and will lodge a complaint/litigation if they still continue contacting you. If you are not interested of course. wink.gif

In my opinion, the reason why being subbed was because Flanno had a poor game against Cardiff, especially at second goals of Cardiff, and positioning of Flanno was questionable (too far up and wide), that lead Campbell free roaming from left to centre before score the goal.

They are more like FRAUDS than telemarketers.

I've received such call and played along for 30mins since I was on a long distance drive (on hands free of course!) and have heard about this countless times from colleagues. Until I asked the dumbest questions and they eventually gave up and then non-chalantly say "it's okay, money is not really of my concern now". It was quite fun biggrin.gif

Between Owen & Torres, I believe us Kopites would like Torres more than Owen (after all we did pocket 50 mil GBP instead of just 8 mil).

Now as Torres continues to promote his former club (ourselves) saying we're like Atletico, I wonder if Chelsea fans will jeer him more LOL.

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/liga-to...27551--sow.html

Was watching him in the last couple of games, and I can say his movement around the box has improved significantly, and who knows - he could be a good backup to Sturridge, and I'd think he'd jell well with Suarez.

I've always thought about the "what if's" like what if Torres had stayed, what the partnership between him and Suarez would be like but nah his wages would be way too high and I might get some stick for saying this, he is a 'has been'. Rather we give a chance to homegrown players or get a younger, cheaper player.

I believe the departure of Torres did us good more than harm, first he gave us extra 50m to buy new players ( dont bring out the players we bought). then he and rafa orchestra the struj chelsea exodus. Still in his heart, liverpool remaining a place to him. To go to chelsea to achieve and accomplish what a normal player who do which is winning trophies and it is very much understandable. Unless he went to join stock city for 50 m then i would say he is in for money.

It's amazing that this is the same player that scored 65 goals for us. He was unstoppable at the time and then he started to sulk and it's gone downhill for him since. I mean even Martin Skrtel has scored more goals this season. Oddly, he's not been complaining about the lack of playing time at Chelsea. Maybe the money helps.

Yes it did do us more good than harm but I would dare say most of us felt betrayed the way he left cause Liverpool were building a team around him at the time. I remember in his biography stating for 18 months he didn't feel like playing for Liverpool so why is he bringing up a transfer story 3 years ago? Why contradict himself? Just let sleeping dogs lie.

I never blamed him for leaving liverpool, as a player who is at his peak of the career, the last thing you want to involve is in the rebuilding process. No one, i mean no one can become SG who year in and year out gives his all and staying loyal with us, not even Owen. Different between him and owen where both wants to win more trophies and not wanting to rebuilding, Torres gave us 50m and Struj. I hope fans can be more understand and now we are on the rise, let bygone be bygone. He did well with us for the 3 1/2 yrs and scored a lot of goals as well.

You are correct. If we win all our games, title is ours (including beating Chelsea & MC) meaning MC lose to us and drop another 2 points.

Well its ok some fans will have extreme reaction (remember burning of Stevie G's jersey). That said Torres perhaps insaf a bit (though he won't openly admit it) but then who can blame him coz we were managed by idiots back then.

Torres for me is not a player to be build around though coz he's a bit one-dimensional unlike Suarez. Its like building around Owen or Andy Caroll where only one type of football is usually played and plan B may result in mediocrity. For Suarez, everything is Plan A from Free Kicks, to posession-based attack to counter attacks, to direct running, etc. So many options my mine just boggles thinking what kind of goals we going to score next smile.gif

In retrospect, Cardiff looked as though they had spent the first 30 minutes erecting the barricades in preparation for an inevitable, full-on assault.

When it arrived at the start of the second half, the hosts were helpless, brushed aside by the velocity, imagination and power of this natural, attacking force.

Just love the above statement about Liverpool now.

A very bad career decision for him apart from penny wise. I mean, look at Chelsea. How many Strikers' career now they have successfully murdered. Sheva, Kezman, Mutu, Torres, Demba Ba, etc.

I am very sure if he had stayed with us, he will still be a very decent player. Because his link up with Suarez and Sturridge would mean a dangerous trio. He may even be like Miroslav Klose / Alan Shearer before they retire, because of the massive quality upfront playing week in and week out with him.

Now, after years of under par performance and sub standard appearances, I guess he has lost that kick in him.

Too bad for him but not for us.

wow..harsh..hahaha

Sheva cant dislodge Drogba from the 1st 11, and forced to play out wide.

Kezman, yes..I doesn't work out the way we want it to be. Fair enough..

Mutu, kill his own career..nothing much we can do..he still own money to Chelsea because he broke the contract.

Torres, this is the big gamble..he already struggling at Liverpool after the injury..but Roman just love this fella..and he is a signing that handled by Roman's right hand lady..forgot her name..at least Torres prolific at European stage..hahaha tongue.gif

and Demba Ba..well we bought him as 2nd or 3rd striker..to add depth..so..he still a 2nd/3rd striker in the current team..

any Striker that we sign during the Drogba era will be struggling..none of them can dislodge him..so they will be on the bench and label as flop..only one player work well with him..Anelka because he drop his ego as main striker and drift out wide to the right wing..

as for Sturridge..good for Liverpool because you guys able to get the best out of him..but for me the different between Blue Studge and Red Studge is the ego and selfishness. He willing to work with the team now at Liverpool.. Chelsea fans know how good he was..most of us want him to stay..but he refuse to sign contract extension, forced the management to cash him for some fund..he showed the glimpses of what he can do now..back then at Chelsea..

According to Carra, we pretty much sold a defective player knowing he would never reach the same heights as he once did for us. Torres is the past. The future is Sturridge.

QUOTE
"We knew when Torres left Liverpool in January 2011 that Chelsea were not getting a £50m striker. Injuries had started to take a toll on him — he suffered significant groin and knee problems during the 2009-10 campaign — and he had lost a yard of pace. There were other things. His attitude, for instance, dropped alarmingly. You could tell from his body language in a pre-match warm-up what type of performance you were going to get. If Fernando was going through the motions, a few of us would look at each other and say: ‘Here we go again’ " - Carragher

Apparently the grass is always going to be greener on the other side, even players look and smell better..for all the criticism levelled at Hendo, and labels being put on Allen aka Xavi etc etc, these are the players that brought us towards touching distance of the title. And a certain Spurd player apparently 'look' better after performing in just 1 game, yet our very own players that performed week in week out are never given their long overdue credit. Which led me to conclude he must be a cow or a bull, either way, makes no different to me...And I bet Sigurdson is better than Cout, cos he scored..while Coutinho cant even buy a goal on current form, never mind his contribution, to me, if he cant score, he is shit....

The game against Cardiff illustrate BR's managerial credential, as well as tactical astuteness...ohh and I tot i heard cows mooing that BR lack tactical awareness, a small club mentality manager - Rafa is way way and away in class...No disrespect to Rafa, he is already etched in our history as a legend, that delivers 5th CL title... but I just tot that Liverpool had evolved with the current style of football, an evolution that started last season and to see fruition this season is truly remarkable.

Win or no win, the title is for us to lose, with Citeh and Blues to come to our fortress. And I am sure that cows will always find ways to leave their dung around, no matter what comes end of the season. For the mean time, I am just going to savour our last 8 matches - for a reality check

According to Torres, Liverpool fans dont really know the truth. I was thinking what truth could it be.

Then I thought, could it be John Henry's idea to convince Torres to go there and sit idle and do nothing much for them? LOL biggrin.gif

So Agent Torres is actually still doing a job for Liverpool secretly tongue.gif

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Mar 24 2014, 05:58 PM)
wow..harsh..hahaha

Dont get me wrong bro. I dont mean bad management. I mean Chelsea have won many titles, but at the same time, many strikers have fallen. Maybe it is the Stamford Bridge hoodoo tongue.gif. I am tempted to see Sergio Aguero going there. If he fade off like the rest, then you gotta admit, it is the Stamford Bridge hoodoo but somehow Drogba manage to avoid it tongue.gif. LOL.

But on a more serious note, in my personal opinion, I think that is down to consistent change of management that the player's development suffered. Every manager have their bias point of view. Dannyboy has mentioned he has lost his appetite for football at Chelsea because one time he was given opportunity and then another time, he wasnt. Glen Johnson as well. It's hard to be consistent even when you do well, you get dropped because new manager has come in to takeover. Just my opinion anyway.

Drogba was pretty much untouchable in the heyday which begs the question of why so many forwards were purchased in the first place? Also, the players opted to join Chelsea so if their careers nosedived, it was pretty much their own doing.

Henderson didn't have the best of starts to his career and he was shown little mercy because of how much we paid for him. The fact that he was playing out of position on the right was dismissed as an excuse. BR even tried to offload him as part of the Dempsey deal which based on his current form, is an insult to the lad. Credit to him for playing through the criticism and winning fans over. The lad is made of sterner stuff mentally and I'm over the moon for him.

Allen, despite having to play in a deeper role than at Swansea has actually improved on his defensive game. I read an article which contained stats showing that he's the best defensive midfielder we have which is an achievement considering how he was struggling last season. I reckon the difference is that despite having to defend, he does it further up the park this season. He is very active when he's on the pitch, chasing and hounding opposition players, sticking to them like a fly to crap.

I reckon that if we for a moment forget about their price tags, they are actually decent players. Not world beaters but certainly players who can offer something to the squad. If we finish in the top four, it will be a massive achievement for Rodgers. If we win it, he'll be an instant legend.

I have so much admiration of BR. I've met enough people, attended enough seminars/talks/conventions, seen enough leaders at work, to sense if a person is a winner just from the way they talk and their mannerisms. After his first interview, Rodgers struck me as an intelligent individual with a winning mentality. Until today I don't understand why he was criticised for not having a plan B because he's made substitutions in the firsts half before. He's also deployed different formations and switched players about but I guess if you don't win, people don't notice these details.

When Torres joined Chelsea he is almost the same age as Suarez now so technically he should be the peak of his powers. Whether it'd be Drogba, managerial changes, lack of fatherly love, etc etc we will never know. We only know that obviously his personal stats took a nosedive during that period despite winning a couple of trophies, and he will forever has the 50 Mil stigma on him. Though I'd love to see him & Suarez playing together, that will never happen and even then with our previous managers, they may not capitalize on the strengths of this duo.

For me it's just sad because Torres is the only one that joins a team with a less pronounced 'history' (no offense) compared to other world-class Liverpool players that left (in particular Real & Barca). I believe he could have continued to perform much better in the right environment.

Did anyone realised the commentators screamed so loud when Cardiff City scored the first 2 goals? JORDAN MUTCH!!!!!.....capitalize on Liverpool's error. FRAZIER CAMPBELL!!!! It could be the most significant goal for him.

Then when Skrtel scored it was "Skrtel....Liverpool are back in the game".

Suarez..never in doubt anyway. Sturridge... SAS yet again.. (Controlled emotion) LMAO biggrin.gif

my sincerely thoughts are they Suarez is definitely entitled to get his chance for the hattrick as he has been ever the team player. its almost the last kick and he knows one more goal will be the match ball for him.

who could blame him. i would say Sterling should better react and be ecstatic and happy that Suarez got his hattrick considering alot of the tap ins he has gotten this season were mostly the work of LS7

Be grateful Young Sterling

Manchester City are believed to be one of the teams under UEFA investigation for breaching of FFP rule.

Clubs face a range of sanctions ranging from a warning or a fine up to being forced to play in Europe with a salary cap on the squad, or even being barred from competing and having trophies stripped.

Being forced to play in Europe with a salary cap on the squad? tongue.gif $1000 cap and we will see Man City's boot boys and toilet cleaners playing in Champions League. laugh.gif

I think Vertonghen is a little mislead here.

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/46...he-cutting-edge

Suarez was already playing for us last season. If anything, the difference has been Brendan Rodgers who has managed in just one season to get the best out of the players he has at his disposal. Suarez is scoring goals for fun but so is Daniel Sturridge, a Chelsea and City reject. What about Martin Skrtel and Jordan Henderson who we almost sold? Jon Flanagan is enjoying his best form in a red shirt and so is Raheem Sterling who must surely be on the plane to Brazil.

You can have all the great players in the world like Chelsea and ManC or RM and Barca, but it's the manager's job to bring out the cohesiveness and teamwork out of individual talents to play as a great team to win every game. Look at Spurs and Saint. They have a squad that should be challenging top 4 but failed due to lack of quality manager to bring the best out of them.

in Liverpool, known good player before BR come in was only suarez. That's why ppl outside labelling us as 1 man team. Look how BR accomplished over his 1 1/2 yrs tenure as our manager? Flanno, Hendo, Allen, converted SG for him to prolong his career. not to mention bring in Shako, Struj, Couth, Mignolet to jell them together with Johnson, Agger, Skertel. It's a whole lot of rebuilding and retooling.

I am blessed that it went very well and FSN did a great job for supporting BR. But please no more low ball like what happen in last Jan windows.

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/46...he-cutting-edge

Suarez was already playing for us last season. If anything, the difference has been Brendan Rodgers who has managed in just one season to get the best out of the players he has at his disposal. Suarez is scoring goals for fun but so is Daniel Sturridge, a Chelsea and City reject. What about Martin Skrtel and Jordan Henderson who we almost sold? Jon Flanagan is enjoying his best form in a red shirt and so is Raheem Sterling who must surely be on the plane to Brazil.

Remember what happened when Solskjaer said he preferred Rooney and RVP over SAS? That's right, 4 goals for them. Spurs gonna get it as well.

Hahahaa, this year my MU buddy owe me a Starbucks drink. Everywhere we bet on 2 things. Games against each other (win or lose, draws no count) and trophies won (excluding one shots like Community Shield).

To think that despite all the taunting especially by SAF on Liverpool players, the respond from them (even the mgr) is usually always been dignified.

No offence but maybe they need to look up the definition of the word. He may be passionate but he is certainly not dignified. Dignified people do not make snide remarks and they most certainly do not take every opportunity to belittle their rivals. They remain focused on their own team and they do not entertain invitations to have a go at their rivals.

This good article shows that even without Suarez, Sturridge should also be in discussion for Player of the Year.

If compared to Hazard (since Jose likes to bring him up), Sturridge has more goals, same assists and played 8 games less! Also I can count more than one hand that Sturridge's goals are match winners (or draw-ers in the case of Everton). Hazard? I dont think that many.

Just that Suarez has been so outstanding that Sturridge is like Robin to Suarez's Batman while he's more like a Spider-Man able to tackle things without Batman (as shown in the 1st 3 games).

Struj's goals were critical during Suarez 10 games ban, same as Suarez's goal also important during struj injuries time. When both are together, liverpool are avg 2.5 ish goals per game.

Guys, this fella good enough? I like how he danced with barca and his air control is better than anyone of us here, except Skertel. I heard we are tracking him very closely. And he is almost out of current contract.

Macam yes. If we do sign him, means Agger is likely to leave this summer? Along with Coates?

SAF is behind this match? Is he asking Moyes to purposely to lose the match?

I have no freaking idea why Cleverly is on the starting line-up, he is completely useless, losses possession so many times. laugh.gif

Moyes really Moyes. Ask him to at least draw, he lose to his neighbors by the same scoreline to us. Lets hope Arsenal put on a better showing though I think they themselves dont look good drawing at home to Swansea LOL.

On a lesser note, good to see Everton pushing for fourth. Love to see 2 Mersey teams in UCL. They have it in their own hands now as if they win all their matches (including an upcoming one with Arsenal) and sustain their goal difference (now only 3 GD gap), they can sneak into 4th smile.gif

I like it that Everton is pushing. That means Arsenal will have no choice but to beat Man City this weekend rclxms.gif
And Everton also need to beat Man City in week 37 in order to have any chance. So if Gunners and Toffees are doing well for the match against MC, that could be good for us.

On the other hand, let's bless Chelsea in their quest in UCL. The further they get in the competition the better. If they win it, well, congrats to Maureen then. If anyone who deserves to win it, that would be Maureen. The only trophy he has not won with Chelsea.

Hope after tonite's win, it will cement us 3rd placing in BPL. Remember 3 months ago we were sitting at 4th placement with Spurs and Everton all over our shoulders and top 3 is kindly far for us. But now, epscially after tonite, i can really proud with our team fighting spirit. I really hope team can win the rest of the game and at least become no.2. If City can drop 1 game, we will have chance to Win the league.

Yup go Everton!

As for Chelsea pushing further, I'm not bothered at all. Prefer they get knocked out now or later. Paisley should still stand alone on the throne as the only mgr that won 3 European Cups / Champs League.

Ah Moy really breaking records. Another one he will break this year is finally which will soon happen is finally after 11 years his Everton team is ahead of MU. Also if Everton do the double over them, its probably their first time ever they lose to MC, Reds & Toffees at home and away.

Ah Moy memang Ah Moy.

I always thot Gooner fans are educated ones (at least compared to MU or Chelsea). Didn't know this forum houses so many butthurt types.

After a couple of office meetings am gonna go home and sleep early so can wake up and catch us taming the Black Cats.

seems united fans yell at SAF after the match. Stewards also had to prevent some MU faithful from tearing down "The Chosen One." banner..

They should change the "This is Anfield" fonts type n size to 300 style of font. That will strike fears into the heart of opposing team when they passing by. And orh, while they are on it, might as well PS the 300 poster change the head to our players. That will be epic.

Seriously, GUs said that? LOL.

THat reminds, me I never recall that BR saying that he wishes other key players are sick and all so they stand a better chance to win. I remember Jose saying something indirectly like key players should not be playing against them coz should get red card, etc etc and same goes for others wishing that some of our players are not around. But BR just always focus on doing the best he can in spite of situations (onlys sometimes mentioning injury worries but never as reasons for losing the game).

I am so sold to BR wub.gif

Wonder BR will stick with 4-4-2 diamond, or change back to 4-3-3.

Don't really like all the spaces we gave to opponent when the fullbacks push upfront in 4-4-2 diamond.

Think we'll go with 433 tonight with Sterling down the flank. The diamond seems to be our 'defensive' formation when playing away from home.

Yup. I will be ready. flex.gif

Seriously, we need to focus. Confidence is high and Anfield will roar really loud tonight because BR ask the Kopites to do so.

But dont predict a high scoreline YET because Sunderland isnt a walkover team. They are surely hurt by their form of late and will look to toughen things up at the back.

The crucial thing is for SAS to get the first goal. Then, they have but no choice, play a different game against us.

Hopefully this time, I dont need to call the sifu out. biggrin.gif

Personally i have a bad feeling for all early morning liverpool games or when john henry comes over.

I hope there is no repeat of cardiff first half performance.

I think it's inevitable he will miss either the MC or Chelsea match. Looking at the schedules, it is West Ham and then Man City. Then Norwich, follow by Chelsea.

If I have to choose, I rather have Steve handling Chelsea and the final two matches. Those are the final push.

Be patient. As with many other teams who came to Anfield and defend, many have fallen.

Vergini should't be on the pitch after he brought down Suarez the 1st time imo and the 2nd foul he should be shown a 2nd yellow.

The first foul itself should have been red. Last man. I dont care if Brown is rushing back. Last man. Simple as that.

Then the 2nd foul, a clear run to the byline but this guy just put a foot in to stop Suarez. No yellow. Gosh. Ain't gonna get too many decision from this ref.

Might as well be patient.
