hi all!

just started my helicopter collection... and yes, it's HUGE! generally okay detailing but the landing gears totally devoid of details (but for rm29.90, it's definitely value for money). dunno whether it's just me but i kinda feel that the hc1 chinook is off scale as it looks the same length as the ch149 cormorant. the chinook should be much larger than the cormorant by approx 10cm. the cormorant is 2281cm vs chinook's 3010cm and at 1:72 scale should be 31.68cm and 41.80cm respectively? hmm.gif

strikermac, perhaps it's the end-to-end rotors that makes all the difference? the chinook sure has quite a fair bit of rotor overhang compared to the cormorant. but somehow they still don't appear proportionate in comparison hmm.gif

blackhawk got into aerial combat with the apache kah? yeah... the the pins are kinda miniscule and you'll probably have to devise your own bracket to hold them together, but not so authentic already lor...

alternatively, can get replacement from allscript?

any of you guys had a small black loose hooked shaped piece with their tiger model? wondering where it's supposed to fit in. initially thought that it was part of the wheel assembly... but they're complete. hmm.gif

judge-the,

trust me, it's worth making that trip to allscript instead of hunting for the mags all over town. i did that with the fighter aircraft and lived to regret it missing out on a couple of issues and when i finally got my butt to allscript, no more stock already. the apache longbow happens to be one of the more in demand chopper... kinda like the f18 was for the fighter aircraft collection.

Ya dude...hot on the market...better hurry, I think this will go fast.  The Apache really is nicely built.

No, the color more like grey black....

judge-the... u seem to hang around the places i used to frequent also in search of my fighter aircraft collection. another good place to go is the curve since there also got mph and borders. can check them out although with the fac, i found mph having more stock. otherwise check out popular. sometimes have to inquire 'coz they don't display. but if you wanna have the entire collection, best to subscribe with allscript...

i think generally interest in helicopter collection not as high as fighter aircraft... and judge-the, like strikermac suggested, just order from allscript. doesn't have to be subscription...

feels good, eh? perhaps others can share if they managed to locate the issue elsewhere. the small newsstand beside midvalley rotiboy must be wondering how come so many people suddenly rush to buy the magazine from him rolleyes.gif

target lock:

issue#9 lynx
issue#11 huey
issue#19 super cobra/viper
issue#24 mangusta
issue#27 puma
issue#30 super puma
issue#32 comanche
issue#38 havoc

dunno whether the apache will make its debut in the malaysian series but judging from the uk series, it's quite possible since they have both the puma and super puma (but then again, that's because it's the uk).
