Hi all,

Anyone know STB Huawei EC6106V5 password for 'IPTV Setting' under My Applications ->Setting menu?

Hypptv Streamyx STB is different model with Unify STB.

The video quality for Streamyx Hypptv is bad, so i need to change setting for IPTV.

All the password given can't be used to access this menu.

One more thing is anyone know how to install you tube apps for this box. This box is running android,

unfortunately without youtube applications and download apps menu.

Thanks you.

They did say its low bit rate to see how it goes.
So blurry image is totally normal for streamyx users.
They will increas the bit rate time by time.
Unless there is a usb port and usb otg support.
Theres not a lot of possibility for it to install apps.
If it does have one, try putting a media file in and play.
If it plays, i think i can guide you installing play store and custom launcher on it

Ya, call 100 already and create the report. Most of TM staff still blur2 about this service (Hypptv over streamyx), they can't answer you most of your question. They also dont know the STB password for "IPTV Setting".

Picture quality for SD is lower than Astro SD (almost like VCD quality), HD also same, i think because they reduce the resolution to prevent buffering. Dont dream to watch HD in streamyx Hypptv. Subtitle also difficult to read.

When i switch off the internet, i still can watch TV almost 20 ~ 30 seconds before it's stop and show 'loading'.

It's too much buffer, so that why I want to increase the resolution since my 4Mbps can support high resolution at least 576i/p (standard for SD picture). I think the setting is inside "IPTV setting" menu, TM locked it to prevent buffering during watching TV.

Anyone succesfully go into the 'IPTV setting menu'?

I'll will try it and update to u.

TM never mention no youtube apps for streamyx Hypptv. All their advertisement showing STB working together with you tube. Feel like cheated!

Thanks bro.

I was wondering on this too about IPTV setting menu as well for the software updates, tried the password given for our hypptv login, the 8288 and 123456 also unsuccessfully. I believed TM don't want us to meddle with advance setting just to minimised downtime. I am yet to check how good or bad the so called HD as I am still using the old time CRT flat screen TV, 21" Samsung Plano biggrin.gif
I am on 8mbps, as opposed to your buffering problem in 4mbps, mine is almost nil in lagging nod.gif

Mine using 4Mbps also smooth and no lagging, even still can watch TV up to 20~30 sec after switch off internet. My problem only about picture quality, the quality is not 576i, maybe 480i or lower. I belive the setting is inside "IPTV setting' menu.

Managed to get password for 'IPTV setting' from internet forum ,not from TM staff. But no picture quality setting inside the menu, only HyppTv link and password.

I also noticed after few minutes watching HyppTv, the picture quality will look better as the resolution will increase slowly.

8mbps bundled with hypptv + 17 free channels = RM160, Subscription to the sports pack will be summed to total RM190 monthly. For the first 30 days upon signed up for hypptv, we can view all the premium packs for free.

I've no comment for 4mbps, but something to read about the T&C here http://www.tm.com.my/hypptv/PublishingImag...rt/tvostnc.aspx

This model is for Streamyx user? My friend Unifi not getting this medel STB and their STB no wifi support.

HD not very nice, need to wait when switching channel and it will getting clear... still cannot compare with Astro HD

though is free with 8M package, just leave it there, since the STB support DLNA, not that bad as a free gift biggrin.gif can connect to my WD MyBookLive

1) my usb pendrive auto detected when plugged to the usb port.
2) has built in audio and video player. i tried play mp3 and mkv file and it works flawlessly. great!

Just collect my hypptv STB today. The activation are on the spot, no need to wait for 1 day. I get the one with wifi, so there's no need for cable.

I try the 1080p output setting, the picture quality does get better eventually but not 1080p i think. Still acceptable and viewable.

One think that caught my attention, the 8mb user actually getting about 9mb speed. 1mb speed dedicated for hypptv. If you switch off the STB, you can surf(download) with extra 1mb speed.

Certain functions inside the menu does not working by using the usb keyboard as we still need to use the on-screen keyboard to insert the characters.

Mind you, HD channel are not available on the streamyx platform (tvos). They're broadcast or stream at SD, thus the bandwidth are not affected that much for us.

yes I know that, as the guy from hypptv told me that we streamyx users won't enjoy the HD but my observation when we run any selected channels for HD the start up (viewable top right OSD) streaming speed may jump up tp 3k and more compared to non HD that will be around 1k or any lower than 2k. Well. TM should give more options to us streamyx users, at least additional apps to us in choosing either want to view 720, 1080 or any lower than that as what we can find in youtube. imo

for streamyx user, you need to put @tvos after your user name. eg: username@tvos

I also faced the same problem when login at the first time. I think only for streamyx hypptv user only need put @tvos

Today collected this huawei EC6106V5 STB from TM
Got a few things need others to help/double confirm
1) audio setting, select either HDMI or SPDIF, got audio out simultaneously while streaming from HYPP TV apps. S what is this setting for?
2) playing avi or rmvb file, simultaneously audio out from both HDMI direct to TV & SPDIF to AV receiver, but my AV receiver received Left, Right & Center signal via spdif. all vocal out from center and L/R with very low background sound. I thought avi or rmvb normally carry stereo/2 channel. This device over engineered?
3) playing mkv movie with DTS or DD audio track, HDMI direct to TV no audio (it would not downmix to 2ch?) but spdif now problem to receive raw audio format. Anyway to force/change the setting to downmix? (I am still using old AV receiver that cannot process HD audio over HDMI and i hardly use it even connected with optical cable)

Thanks

Can anyone having a working HyppTV STB post their IPTV Settings and System Upgrade configuration? Doesn't matter if you're using Streamyx or UniFi, just want to double check settings before I call TM for help.

So after reading all the post above:

-IPTV setting password is 3008. There's nothing inside here.
-Streamyx got lower res TV because it uses only max 2MB line.
-In my experience 2MB in youtube can only watch 360p or less without lag. Go Unifi if you want true HD.
-There's no setting to change the quality, but it will get better over time, not much to get that true HD.
-Press and hold power button to open recovery mode.
-There's a exploit out there to install Play Store via recovery mode, search "HyppTV Amanz[".
-You can install Youtube on using this Play Store but not android games since STB processor is slow and not supported.
-STB can play media from USB, with common standard format and codec (not too heavy like Dolby, DTS, FLAC, H.264 10bit etc)

anything I forgot?

Hi,
when you talk about HD...
is the HyppTV app is only running in 480i in all channel? even though in HD channel it's still in 480i...
i have changed the settings in the box settings... indeed if i'm not launching hyppTV app it gives me 1080p signal,
but the HyppTV app is just running in ridiculous low 480i...

are you guys experiencing the same?

I am doing a survey to understand consumer behavior which makes them stick to their broadband Service Provider. Your feedback is very much appreciated:

Now planning for 5 13A socket pt, 1 unifi pt, 1 astro pt, 1 astro recorder pt. not sure should I add a telephone pt there so that I can place the modem at the tv wall to connect to hypptv box for tv viewing as well.

Managed to get password for 'IPTV setting' from internet forum ,not from TM staff. But no picture quality setting inside the menu, only HyppTv link and password.

I also noticed after few minutes watching HyppTv, the picture quality will look better as the resolution will increase slowly.

I don't think that's possible a hypptv is only for unifi or streamyx which are the TM's products.

I don't think it would work by changing the Streamyx to Unify setting in the STB since this will also change the network setting.

I can see in unify setting, its connect to a VLAN like IP..

anyway.. do try and let us know lah.. smile.gif

Looking to the IP assignment in the STB, It would need to be set as Streamyx before you can use it.
( Of course you would also need to have Hypptv account for login purpose)
