Dear sifus, the other day i enquire some sifu here and i finally made up my mind on what to get. but still there is some problem. can advice?
my budget is 3k btw. used for render stuff n gaming.
i plan to get everything from czone had good experience with them, but some parts they dont have like the case, fsp psu, and gpu.....
or i should i head to viewnet?

Proc - Xeon 1230 V3 RM 799
Mobo - Asus B85M-G RM 279
PSU - Seasonic S12II 620 - RM 299 ( izit too overkill or it is future proof if i want to upgrade? or i should stick with FSP Hexa 500w RM 149? but czone dont have... )
GPU - Gainward GTX 760 Phantom RM 849 ( most of the place i ask out of stock. including lingloong n gbros. please recomend me another one)
HDD - 1TB WD Blue RM 189
RAM - Kingston Value Ram 8GB RM 230
Casing - Aerocool XPredatorX1 RM 179 ( is this case ok? i actually want to find a case with side window so match cm devastator for the blue blingbling and good airflow. 2nd choice is corsair carbide spec 03 RM 207. 3rd choice oni got usb 2.0 nzxt source 210 RM 159)
Wifi Card - TP Link TL-WN881ND RM 49
KB/M Combo - CM Devastator RM 149
ODD - LiteOn DVD RW RM 55

Extra note
Idealtech recommended me this extra part
Cooler: CM HYper 212X RM135 and the reason > (the temperature of Xeon can reach 100C if load)
izit needed?

adding up everything with seasonic psu, aerocool case without gpu will be RM 2228
lets say i want to stick with GTX 760, which is better? zotac? palit? leadtek? i was recommended by seller as gainward no stock. whats the price? if over abit i think i can top up my budget a lil bit

lets say i want to stick to 3k budget, what gpu around RM 780 is best bang for the buck?

sorry for too long, cuz i got fed up finding the gpu too. thanks sifus!

Yea the PSU is good enough. Not that much overkill. For the gpu I recommend getting a ref. GTX 760. Price range from RM 789-799. If you want bling bling case the Corsair Spec-02 looks good + got a window biggrin.gif
*
The psu u mean is fsp hexa? If future i wan upgrade things enuf ar? Hehehe.....

Err. What is a ref. Gtx 760 ah bro?

I prefer spec 3 cuz the font look like bane. But red led, guess fonna change the fan tongue.gif

No I mean the Seasonic S12. But if you want cheaper PSU can get an Antec VP-550w RM 199 @Viewnet. Quite a good PSU. Reference 760 meaning the normal GTX 760. I think Gainward GTX 760 cost RM 789.
*
Im actually want to get a psu that is future proof abit. 550w enuf for future? Hahaha.... juz asking ur opinion....

Actually normal gtx 760 with phantom whats the diff ah?

Cooler and it's Speed. Imo the Gainward normal 760 cooler seems good enough. If you want higher speed which improve fps by 5-7% you might want to OC it with MSI Afterburner. But Imo the 760 even without OC'ing is kick@ss enough. Yea 550w would do you good. As long as you keep your hardware highly ventilated and free of dust biggrin.gif nod.gif
*
Ok bro, thanks for ur recommendation. If antec can last mw for future, i guess i will go with antec. then i got rm100 can invest in gpu?

Hehehehe... wht gpu around Rm 880? I wan phantommm but no stock cry.gif

btw, can i use my laptop HD to the desktop? do i need to buy a new sata cable?

QUOTE(alfiejr @ Apr 17 2014, 08:02 PM)
my sister rig is using the xeon with intel stock cooler. Seems fine but its a tad loud because the nature of the cooler itself. If you still want to add an aftermarket cooler get Scythe Ashura which price around rm179. Idealtech is selling it.
*
eeerrr, ur tad loud is how loud bro~

Yes you can, you need a sata data cable and power connector cable.

its not that loud , though if you put your ear beside the side panel you definitely hear it  biggrin.gif , a case with acoustic dampener would be good.
*
aaahhh~ icic, then i shall reuse my lappy hd and get a ssd instead biggrin.gif
well, i guess i use the stock first till i got more budget nod.gif

QUOTE(TheHitman47 @ Apr 17 2014, 11:57 PM)
its not mandatory, but if have extra budget of cos you can go with it.

hahaha... thats the prob, not enuf budget

i guess this is my final build which is abit off budget..

Proc - Xeon 1230 V3 RM 799
Mobo - Asus B85M-G RM 279
PSU - Antec VP-550w RM 199
GPU - Gainward GTX 760 Phantom RM 849 if got stock, else going with Zotac GTX 760 AMP! RM880 (if wan cut cost go with Gainward GTX760)
HDD - Reuse lappy HD
SSD - Plextor M5S 128GB RM 284
RAM - Kingston Value Ram 8GB RM 230
Casing - Still cant decide... Either this 4 listing from most preferable (Corsair Carbide Spec 03 RM207, Cooler Master N300 RM179, NZXT Source 210 RM159)
Wifi Card - TP Link TL-WN881ND RM 49
KB/M Combo - CM Devastator RM 149

viewnet sell most of the components you listed out , though for gpu they don't bring gainward and zotac brand.

The new corsair carbide series looks nice , have big sidewindow and the case can fit radiator too  biggrin.gif  .  Another case you can consider is nzxt h230. It has removable hdd rack and has noise dampening material.
*
gainward need find other place. if lucky got. but i asked 5 seller oso no stock.... zotac cycom got~ 899 luls~

viewnet? alrite will dropby hopefully nex week!

yeaa! i choose the spec 3 front looks like bane n got side window so i can bling bling with my cm devastator! the one u recommend no side window kenot bling tongue.gif

Two things though, get a better PSU like the Seasonic S12II, and case, agree with alfiejr. Get the H230. Solid, made for silence, clean looking.

Otherwise, build is as good as it is.biggrin.gif
*
haha.... thought it will be appropriate to post here... so you still recommend to get a better psu. u mean the s12II 620w? 299 from viewnet rite?

you know, we need a side window for the bling! future planning, add a nzxt rgb led control brows.gif brows.gif

Yeah, the S12II 620W. Pretty much covers any future GPU/CPU upgrades.

LOLZ, no choice then. Get the Corsair SPEC series. But I prefer the SPEC02. Same size as the 03 but not so aggressive front design.
*
ok bro~ biggrin.gif
hehehehehe, i prefer the bane look. mayb if can i go compare spec02 with spec03

Some words of advice, always ask for best price if you think you are buying a lot and paying by cash. You may be amazed how much differences in price they can offer..

Aiks, can't believe I missed this. First of all, no, just no. Its a base Xeon, not 12 core monsters. My friend tested his full load using stock cooler, 70℃+ tops. Which under normal circumstances like light usage/gaming won't be pushing it either. Stick to stock coolers. Save money.

Just make sure your case is well ventilated with good fans.
BUT, IF you have extra budget then get a nice cheap heatsink cooler.
*
haha, too much to read i guess? tongue.gif
yealo, alot ppl didnt ask me to get cooler, only idealtech ask me to get, say will reach 100c lols!
what cheap heatsink u recommend? tongue.gif

i forgot to mention, gbros recommend this mobo GA.H87M-D3H instead of asus that u all recommend. its almost the same rite?

Well it's your casing so you choose to decide on either one. Haha. Final decisions is yours.

Stick to your stock cooler first. If you got extra budget get a CM Hyper 212X.

The ASUS is enough. If you want to spend extra then get the Gigabyte for extra features, but do you really need it?
*
hahaha, bcuz bcuz spec 01 bottom dust filter easier to pull out biggrin.gif
watch 01 02 03 review and i feel all oso ok

oohh~ more features? i think asus is enough too and cheaper biggrin.gif

btw, for the case i wanna get, they will include 2 fans only.

i want to get extra fans, what brand is cool, quiet and got led bling bling? wan to get blue to match cm devastator biggrin.gif

For graphic cards, I have bought and installed MSI Twin Frozr, Gigabyte Windforce, and Asus Direct Cu II.  All are quiet, and low temps, but I do not overclock any of the graphic cards I installed.  If you want good cooling solution, and do not mind paying a little more, then consider MSI or Gigabyte.  Asus price used to be similar about 4 to 5 years ago, but now it is much more expensive.  I have bought MSI Twin Frozr for the last 2 rigs I built.
*
ic..... msi does have a very low temp compared to others other than asus

what about performance wise? msi vs gainward phantom vs zotac amp?

QUOTE(mykchin8 @ Apr 18 2014, 05:25 PM)
Those cards that are factory overclocked are clocked a little faster.  However, with the turbo modes today for the graphic cards, there is not enough difference to make it noticeable to most users, so for the same GPU, performance difference between manufacturers is not that much.  The main differentiators are the cooling solutions, and of course, the price.
*
actually not much diffrences in terms of performance... hhmm, then msi really have a good cooling!

QUOTE(mykchin8 @ Apr 18 2014, 05:27 PM)
Also, in addition to what I mentioned above, I sometimes base my choice on stock availability at my favourite retailer.  I buy all my hardware from one shop, I do not go shopping around LYN, as I get the best prices from my regular shop.
*
alright bro, noted!

my revised build!

Proc - Xeon 1230 V3 RM 799
Mobo - Asus B85M-G RM 279
PSU - Seasonic S12II RM 299 (from bro sentinel's recommendation tongue.gif)
GPU - 1) MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr Gaming RM900 (from jayacom)
2) Gainward GTX 760 Phantom RM 849 if got stock
3) Zotac GTX 760 AMP! RM 880 (if wan cut cost go with Gainward GTX760)
HDD - Reuse lappy HD (500GB)
SSD - Plextor M5S 128GB RM 284
RAM - Kingston Value Ram 8GB RM 230
Casing - Still cant decide... from this listing start with most preferable (Corsair Carbide Spec 01/02/03 RM 179/RM 207/RM 207, Cooler Master N300 RM 179, NZXT Source 210 RM 159)
Wifi Card - TP Link TL-WN881ND RM 49
KB/M Combo - CM Devastator RM 149
ODD - LiteOn DVD RW RM 55

few question here sifus
1) which to choose from from the GPU section? from what other sifus posted earlier on, MSI have the best cooling and performance is almost the same with gainward and zotac. and now jayacom's price is RM900! please advice!

if im going with MSI and carbide spec 01, total will be 3223..... hahahahaha, what happened to my 3k budget sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

isnt it cool to have something you love to look and showing around.  brows.gif

3223 i think should be ok, need to get approval from finance department first rclxms.gif

i like how you can replace gainward's fan easily
to me, i feel gainward is the best looking, followed by msi and lastly zotac

to you, which is the best looking?

and if you refer http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforc...104,3542-6.html
msi is the best bang for buck if it is rm900!
