coz budget mar...no $$ to buy a good heatsink or good watercooling atm...js bidded for an dangerden block from ebay, so hopefully can use wc w/o fan(stick radiator in front of air con laugh.gif )

Just wanna share a little piece of info i got today for vcore voltages =)

try using crystalcpuid to change ur voltage in windows, but make sure ur bios is at stock voltage. and read and understand the readme, because it can overzap ur cpu if u r not careful with the mouse scroll sweat.gif

btw, i tried it and it works.

well i dun dare to use it...
last time i was using biostar utility to monitor my voltage, but what it do was altering my voltage from 1.475v to 1.25v  doh.gif
*
yea i suppose so =/, but im tested it on abit and ECS boards, it can overvolt and undervolt for me thumbup.gif

I got a question, anyone using abit kn9 ultra? because i still dont know which sata port is "locked" and "unlocked" any ideas?? x_X

so far i can get 2.3ghz and 900mhz on my kvr ram, but i cant push the processor pass 2.4ghz and ram @ 800mhz at the same timing as 900mhz w/o BSOD myself and corrupting windows(2x re-install ade) and for now i am using Linux minime for the 2.3ghz and 900mhz ram speed.

ps. cpu multi has been played with from 11x to 7x already..

i am on my way changin my mobo to a KN9 ultra...
plz feedback fast be4 i got the same case...
*
kn9 ultra user here, see my sig for the spec i made it run( except cpu, coz stillusing stock HSF and cap ayam psu >_>)

highest i went was 240 x 11 with stock voltage (mine is not EE) and ddr @ 533 divider but dont dare go higher due to load of 65c

Sorry,
I havent been keeping up with the latest news.. smile.gif
I mean do AMD 3800's have different watts !.
If so which is better and runs cooler..also
whats the stepping like..

Thanks
Cheers
*
yes amd 3800+ comes in 3 flavours, 89w, 65w and 35w, check up amd site b4 asking la...

brisbane can clock higher then windsor w/o upping voltage that much compared 2 windsor, but the latency for the cpu is higher.

currect me if im wrong =)

I've used a 130W with an XP-120 before, couldn't get it to run at 130W, only around 70W because can't find a 15V supply for it.
No kidding. The real problem is A64's put out damn low heat on idle, even fans are not required on idle when using stock heatsink. Things get real interesting when you add a peltier-think sub zero as a possiblity (for the 320W peltier sold in CPU, motheboards section, I think sub zero for full load may even be possible, but watercooling required for the peltier's hot side).

But of course, that comes with a catch..remember what you see on a glass with an ice drink? I had to pull the plug before any damage was done.
*
wah sai..u din insulate ur board first ar x_x ....320w is crazy la too much ade...with air cooling = melt ur heatsink...and fan lol....unless ur using water cooling la thumbup.gif

i see, but i got a shipment of 91.2w peltiers, specs are in my sig for sale thread =b

the calculations i have for my bros new 3800+x2 proc if i oc it to 3000ghz and 1.45vcore max

35*((3000/2000))*(1.45/1.25)square = 70w

So Actual Delta T
= (1 -(70/91.2)) x 67C
= (1 -0.767543) x 67C
= 15.574619C

15.5C is perfect condition (100% efficiency) but life not perfect mar so:
15.5C x 65% = 10.075c

assuming the artic cooler64 can maintain room temperature of 30c
30c-10c = 20c

is this correct ar?

still blur la me x_x....maybe i should get those 130w or more rated pelts? but they draw too much power la x_X

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Btw, how much was the temp diff before and after ur pelt?

That's a 89W Windsor F2. Pretty hard to clock faster than 2.5GHz without a fair bit of voltage and good cooling. Price is nice for the spec though, but not worthwhile for overclockers-no thrill also cos it already starts at 2.2GHz, which is damned easy for any overclocker to achieve on that core.
*
So would it be a good idea if i were to take them in? like say i pay and bring in 5 or 10 units? x_X??

QUOTE(-pWs- @ Jun 2 2007, 09:32 PM)
How about ur ram position? Is it you plug to the slot near to cpu? If yes, try to change the ram position. Example, dimm1 to dimm2 and dimm2 to dimm1. Just a suggestion tongue.gif
*
Yea, try like wut pws said, i moved my ram from dimm 1 to dimm 2 and dimm 2 to 1...get better OC happy.gif....but i got them even better when i brought them to dimm 3 and 4 biggrin.gif ...so conclusion is, dimm slot got affect your oc =b

yea, dont think its such a good idea =/

anyway, how come i lost my partition on both my seagate and wd including all the looooong hours of torrenting, anime, movie, passowrds, documents and other hard to find stuff*hint hint*....i boot in, it says disk error, then i try 2 use windows cd to check, it says unpartitioned space for both the HDD's

all these was coz of i tried bumping the ram up to 2.3v x_X??

any ideas why it bcame like this and anyway i can recover the data or part of it?....

ps. the recovery might be a little off topic, but please, if u know anything pls tell me.

I understand your problem about the sata ports, as I'm also faced with the same dilemma. Seriously I also have no idea how to find out if the chipset can't take it or the SATA clocked is unlocked until something goes wrong. And yes, the hard disk can be corrupted because of this, I have a Seagate 160GB here suffering the same fate. Mine even needs to be sent for RMA-having read errors even though no bad sectors. Before the incident it was 100% ok.

Its not likely to find any option to lock the SATA ports-I know very few motherboards had it, it was usually listed together with the PCI/AGP/PCI-E clock (which you should ALWAYS lock when overclocking). Currently, SATA usually shares the PCI-E clock, but it depends on board design.

About data recovery, there are a few programs you can try, but since you said the partition went missing, its probably not going to be simple. Most of the easily obtainable data recovery programs require that the partitions are still intact, and preferably not overwritten. There are more complex programs that can, but very hard to find, usually used only by data recovery services and police forensics. I have a contact of a data recovery company, but I'm not sure about the cost.

i see, my pcie clock is locked at 100mhz....pci is locked at 33 when i upgraded bios to the new one...

but how to know if the disk is damaged or how to check if the port is unlocked?

i rmm that i tried raising my dimm voltage to 2.3v then it happend. is it ram fault also? x_x
