QUOTE(sohakyee @ Jun 9 2014, 10:08 PM) Wise is actually a great cashback card, and particularly on groceries when GST starts to take effect next year.i've been persuading my parents to withhold their grocery spending till at least RM50 before heading out to buy. Too bad, they rush to tesco/giant whenever they see promo/discounted price on newspaper, and each time spends <RM50 asked them to budget 3x-4x RM50 in a month, and again their typical shopping mindset cannot change their spending behavior |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Jun 10 2014, 09:14 AM) Ask them to buy more of the items on PROMO to hit RM50 target... Instead of buy 1 Softlan, buy 5 bottles hahahaha ya lor, that was my argument for them QUOTE(venmax @ Jun 10 2014, 09:38 AM) Nowadays, it is really hard for me to shop grocery for less than RM50... RM50 is getting smaller and smallerĀ yes, my other point of argument too. it's relatively easy to hit RM50 for just 1 visit. shop from end to end, sure can fill up the RM50 quota per cart QUOTE(Devil4life @ Jun 10 2014, 09:40 AM) good idea too. mostly they shop at tesco/giant/econsave for groceries, i might survey first whether these supermarket do sell vouchers at the first place This post has been edited by cybpsych: Jun 10 2014, 09:48 AM |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Jun 10 2014, 12:52 PM) make sure you buy and give the vouchers to your parents in rm10 x 5pcs instead of rm50 x 1pc. otherwise, if they buy less than rm50, the balance will be gone... hahahha yalor! knowing my parents, i'd vomit first if they use RM50 voucher for amount lesser than that! 50% cashback also not enough to cover losses |

finally took the plunge to get Wise.
seems there is no direct online application; just a request form and wait for HLB to call me back. |

QUOTE(onnying88 @ Jun 13 2014, 12:20 AM) Guys, I'm having problem with payment to tnb. Previously I split the payment by rm50x10 for my tnb bill pay using payonline. I done it by key in the same bil number and pay rm50 x 10 times and each time using new tac number. Hlb have no problem counting the transaction and rebate. But I've just receive my latest tnb bil and it's just show I've paid rm50 only. Anyone here can tell me the correct way to split the bil for tnb? QUOTE(tbheng @ Jun 13 2014, 07:09 AM) Maybe TNB just show your last (final) payment only (i.e. the 10th RM50)... similar way for TM's Unifi bill. It only show the last payment (transaction), not the cumulative/total amount paid in that month. Guess the system/service provider expects ppl to pay bills in one lump sum; didnt expect ppl to be smart(er) to split bills due to credit cards! You compare current and previous bill to see if your total payment (RM500) is counted as your credit lah.. btw, carefully check and compare current and previous bill, as tbheng advised. does the current bill inclusive of previous outstanding of RM500 (or RM450 if TNB only 'recognized' RM50 payment only)? there are times where TNB or even SYABAS failed to capture payment, even physically via over-the-counter. happened to me few times. now i'm trialling/testing paying TNB via M2U-AMEX. hope it captures the payment (TNB) and counted the cashback later (MBB). |

QUOTE(onnying88 @ Jun 13 2014, 03:56 PM) For more easy and faster approval, better include following :- thanks! -latest Income tax statement, -EPF statement (normal HLB branch don't have epf printing facility. You may print it out online first) -6 month bank account statement (where your salary bank in) -If salary not high and you think they might reject you, show them and FD receipt (if you have it) Good luck |

QUOTE(babycherie @ Jun 16 2014, 10:10 AM) yes very competitive, even more so if HLB's approval policy is more stringent than other banks.QUOTE(cfc @ Jun 16 2014, 10:10 AM) i will think is counted by application submission if based on submission, that's a poor measurement of agent's performance cuz he/she might just whack as much application as possible with 100% rejection. this will not motivate the agent to get quality customers i encountered a HLB agent who don "chap" when my application failed sms her to check but no reply |

QUOTE(Wongchoy @ Jun 16 2014, 12:21 PM) From what i heard last week, >150k applicants since launch (Jan-Feb 2013). Actual wise card holder at the moment is <50k. guess HLB is looking for quality customers with stable/healthy financial status.just for sharing: HLB staff called me this morning around 9.45am. Some Q&A whether I am currently holding any HLB/EON Bank cards, annual income of at least RM36k, salaried or self-employed, etc. Only then, the agent emailed me all the application forms (English & BM; each for principal & supplementary), product disclosure and leaflet. All in PDF. take note to new applicants: EPF statement printout must be printed from EPF Kiosk. Printout from EPF's own i-Akaun is not accepted. From the email content: They needed me to submit within 48 hours of working hours! Not sure what's the urgency |

From the email content: They needed me to submit within 48 hours of working hours! Not sure what's the urgency Submitted all forms and documents (with more supporting documents that i could find The agent also briefed me all the Wise's features, cashback qualifications, and also recommended to swipe between 1st till 25th each month (i joked that this is due to late posting by merchant/HLB, i came prepared from info from this topic itself! Agent also briefed the T&Cs of using the cards, AF, GST, penalties, etc etc. Speaking of AF waiver, there is no waiver policy. However, the agent advised to prepare to pay RM160 for Wise Gold's AF, then call up to enquire about possible waiver since there could be "promo" to retain customers 1 year after). Call lasted about 13 minutes. After hang-up, few minutes later, agent called me again to my direct office line to verify. just wow, didnt know cc application is so tedious and HLB is so meticulous Standard approval will now take 14 days. If no news or notification, I was advised to call up the agent to ask for status. Not bad at all, considering they care to tell and follow-up for us. |

QUOTE(tonytyk @ Jun 17 2014, 09:41 PM) Why online epf statement not acceptable by HLB? confirm online EPF statement will not be accepted. i specifically asked this when the telemarketer/agent called me to prepare the documents, especially EPF statement. I had to hunt and rush to nearby EPF kiosk just to get the dreaded statement. Did you indicate that you are applying for wise gold in the application so that it is clear to HLB? the form does indicate the Wise Gold selection, but the agent or even the bank office may somehow upgrade it due to your income qualification. in my case, 1st verification by agent, i specifically mentioned to get Wise Gold only. Agent was stunned for a moment, reconfirm again my Gold selection. 2nd verification by bank officer, again, i stated to apply Wise Gold only. Officer was calm and proceed with other info verification (literally item by item from the application form). here's how the current form looks like (card selection, before the Personal Details section below it). ![]() |

QUOTE(shelke @ Jun 18 2014, 08:51 AM) I've received 2 verification calls in first submission yeah, same guess as mine. 1 call in second submission come to think of it, since HLB processing is strict with series of verification to go through how could HLB self upgrade without our consent? now i'm still waiting for approval and what card they're giving me (even with my explicit request for Gold) |

QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Jun 18 2014, 11:29 AM) Yup, but it is a big concern for me... true. let's see how this goes. considering i get RM50 rebate and 1st year AF waiver, perhaps i'd just keep it for <1year, then chop it off.Since AF is not waiveable, rm300,platinum is more than rm160, gold.... coming GST in April 2015, i'm sure there are few banks gonna introduce more "rewarding" cards to entice customers to spend/swipe more using their cards, instead of repelling them off. |

QUOTE(kyoushi @ Jun 18 2014, 03:56 PM) Ok noted, but still better than paying AF for platinum right, will try to call in later maybe get another Wise card from your siblings, parents, or partner/spouse?Just received call from PBB, said to offer platinum but not signature... So sad, now only can rely on HLB Wise gold... image, both partners carrying Wise card by spreading across 4 separate categories. of course, dont spend much beyond your ability to repay the outstanding la. cheers! |
