I got it at Radioshack for 79. You might be able to get a bit less from forumers if they are supplying.

SOT 7 hrs with 30% left can only be.dreamed of by those using Zerolemon 9000mah and above.

It's good man.

Now Huawei should release this in Russia. Then the custom roms will flow.

The last mediapad was kept alive by 2 Russians for nearly 2 years after Huawei stopped supporting it.

Thanks to stevenX, I got my casing, which I promptly modded tongue.gif

Rotary tool used to cut away the left edge, stuck on the TPU case onto it. Added lanyard loop holes.

The only downside is that the cover doesn't close all the way, but I'm willing to live with that.

i check on china site , they said root-ed device cannot receive update is that true ? i just root my x1 and remove some system apps sad.gif
*
That is likely true, especially for OTA updates. However all manufacturers have the same practice of denying OTA to modified firmware.

Don't worry as Huawei has allowed an option for update manually via a downloaded rom file.

According to one of the posts above, our model should get an update sometime next month.

BTW, slightly OT, but the 48Gb free Dropbox that was part of the S3 bundle 2 years ago just expired, and the whole 48Gb vanished.

In expectation of this happening, I didn't use more than a few mb so it didn't affect me.

Did anyone suffer any file loss due to the expiry of such offers? Eg HTC also had a similar offer.

And btw just a reminder if u flash firmware manually, extract the .zip file and transfer it into the sd card. The sd card must be in fat32 not ntfs format

After that restart the phone and it will automatically flash it. After the process is finished, delete the files from your sd card or else it will repeat to flash when u restart

Can the Chinese B006 for the 3G model be flashed on our 501L? What about the TDD or FDD roms?

Well, next month is a few more days to go. Let's see when the 501L ROM B006 is published.

Best of all will be making the kernel sources available as well.

always check what you hear with facts, there are many people in the forum posting ' i heard this, i heard that.. without actually verifying anything from people who are equally clueless..
*
True, but in this case I think we can all be forgiven since Huawei never came up with a proper list of models and even in China there is confusion.

We're not even sure whether 503L and 501L are actually identical on the inside or not despite the official specs.

Activity is a bit low on Chinese flashing forums, but I found someone did CWM 6.0.4.7, however the comments seem to indicate that it was not successful

Note that as of now, probably due to lack of init.d support, root is not 100%.

Meaning, some things can't be done like Xposed, scripting, and even Swiftkey languages are not permanent.

Things like Titanium work fine though.

do u all use any bluetooth device with this phablet? Seems too big to be used as a phone and I've used X Ultra before, this is even bigger.

Any recommendations for a bluetooth device that performs like a mini phone?
*
Asus used to have a companion device with one of their Memopads about 2 years ago which was a mini bluetooth dialer. Otherwise make.believe SB520 headset I think.

I propose a Jabra Tag.

I tried to perform reverse charging using a normal OTG cable and a standard charging cable. It works when the phone is switched on. GCC measured 800 on the Note3.

Hahaha! I'm the fren that Jloi mentioned tongue.gif

Yeah, the black is coming this week and will be available storewide on following week. It's also subjective whether the dealer will only push white and not black when they over stock the white. Else this month you will see black MediaPad X1.

Share with you a photo of black Huawei MediaPad X1 that my friend using;

[attachmentid=4037036]

He didn't really take good care of this phone as you can see some cuffed and dented on the bezel. But it look smaller if compare to white.  wub.gif with black
*
The demo unit during the Huawei event in April was a black unit. Yeah it looks really nice, but I won't lose money to swap it unless someone is willing to trade colors tongue.gif

Thanks........ for trying out the reverse charging. By saying it has to be switched on means the screen has to be on right?
*
I don't think the screen has to be on, but the device needs to be on.
