yoyoan nice teardown. But the battery will be hard to find if it needs replacing. Due to its slimness, the screen will be affected if the battery starts to bulge.
Edit: stupid SwiftKey autocorrect. This post has been edited by joytest: Jun 11 2014, 07:16 PM |

QUOTE(yoyoan @ Jun 12 2014, 10:55 AM) Having said that, I hope Huawei buck up on their service centre. Really want something else other than Samseng. However still trying to make Nova replicate and work like touchwiz. Last time I didn't like much the UI on one max and Lenovo S930. Not right now Have you got yourself one? Too many devices, and they are all still working. Maybe a little later. |

QUOTE(sordanny @ Jun 13 2014, 12:22 PM) yes quite a lot wakelocks for google apps but this is more google's fault rather than huawei's.... Fat32 filesize 4gb. People should always use detailed list view to show filesize.hardware wise, it's top notch on the firmware side, only glitch i find is double tap to wake screen is a bit sensitive in pockets, it easily wakes the phone From wakelocks detector the worst wakelock culprit is google plus any idea how to fix?? i've formated my sd card to fat32 and found out i cannot transfer my fhd mkv files how u guys fix this? |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Jun 13 2014, 05:38 PM) Not interested in tablets for now. Quite happy with my present LG pad 8.3 which I also seldom used. The Tabs size is still too big to be use as a phone Tablets are more of a companion device, and phablets have been shown to be eating tablets' lunch. This X1 is really good in terms of pocketability, resolution and screen real estate. This X1 size is just nice for a 7 incher to be used as a phone. Any bigger is just uncomfortable I suppose pairing this with a nice Zagg Autofit will serve most light computing needs already. |

I have one question.
Is there an option for display mirroring or DLNA screen casting? ie meaning you can play your movies and it shows up on a DLNA/Wi-Di compatible TV. |

In anticipation of my Mediapad X1, I got an Adonit Jot mini stylus. I tested it on the demo unit in Low Yat. It works nicely if you write slowly.
I would be using my Note3 for primary note taking and the Mediapad can be used for consumption and minor annotations. |

Is there any setting to increase screen sensitivity like the mode where you can use it with gloves on?

What about Chromecast I wonder.
Kaushik Dutta has the Allcast app that can stream almost anything from your phone. Not sure how much Chromecast would cost though, but last year when it launched there were some sellers selling it at around RM150. This WiFog claims to support 1080p Wireless display. bujal.x does 1080p work properly on Wifog? This post has been edited by joytest: Jun 19 2014, 02:06 PM |

QUOTE(un_id @ Jun 22 2014, 06:06 PM) Would like to read your review on this sir.. I'm also tempted to have one, but no budget until I let go one of my current phone.. Am thinking to replace my XZU for this, but still wondering if it can work as a normal phone for me instead of feel like a tablet, and above all, smooth performance. Haven't have time the search for a demo unit.. LOL....if you can stand an XZU, this is surely a no brainer. It feels "tablet-y" but it surely works just like a phone, and performance is smooth after I installed Nova launcher. One thing I noted is that it seems to be "picky" on cables used. Using normal Samsung cables that give 1800 GCC readings on the Note 3 and Note 2, it only detects as USB charging, which is slow. You have to use those cables specifically made for charging to detect as AC charging. I haven't used its supplied USB cable yet, still nicely packed in the box. It charges quickly, about 20% in 30 mins. |

I am very excited to report that the Adonit Jot mini works VERY WELL on the screen....I am able to write at near-normal speed and it registers my writing almost perfectly (on Handy Note Pro 7.1.4).
Only downside is to keep my palm away from the screen. Perhaps a ROM update will improve palm rejection, because I read somewhere that the screen has some palm rejection built in by virtue of its narrow bezels. Update:source for "intelligent grip suppression" http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/feature-han...wei-mediapad-x1 QUOTE The software has also been enhanced to solve various usability issues with the device. Huawei recognizes that it’ll be extremely difficult to hold the device without touching the screen. Because of this, the MediaPad X1 features Huawei’s own intelligent grip suppression technology that prevents the hand holding the device from ever affecting your navigation. Thus, even if your thumb is on the screen, it’ll be able to intelligently ignore it since it recognizes it as the hand that’s holding the device. This piece of technology isn’t new as it has already been part of devices like the Apple iPad. This post has been edited by joytest: Jun 23 2014, 12:04 AM |

Rooted my phone with RootGenius 1.9.5 after installing Huawei HiSuite drivers.
30second affair. Xposed 2.6 doesn't seem to work yet. Framaroot didn't work with the Pippin method. |
