After 8 months out of the water, finally got my fix of saltwater last week at LOB Tioman - nothing but diving from morning til night! Loved it...
Viz was ok, from 5-15m, temperature around 28 degrees which is cooler than normal. nice blue waters. ![]() ![]() ![]() This is one friendly squid! Yaayyyy hoorayyy YUm Chaa time, havent joined u guys before... This post has been edited by ericcc: Apr 14 2014, 06:47 PM |

QUOTE(AIAF @ Apr 15 2014, 11:03 AM) Just got my OWD at Redangkalong. Logged 8 dives in total. Welcome aboard. It's a whole new Water World out there to explore, have fun, and to learn about. It was awesome, got to hangout with 3 black tip sharks for a good 15-20 minutes on one of my dives. I have no where else to compare to but according to other divers the visibility was great. For certification I have no problem recommending Diver's Den, or doing confined water first before heading to island. I was able to enjoy my time there much more and all dives were relatively smooth. Got to handle a camera for my last two dives and buoyancy was still ok (not great but ok hahaha). I think the camera is actually good for me cause it slows me down cause I get the tendency to accidentally swim a bit faster than others for some reason. Fun! |

QUOTE(YuenZhao @ May 24 2014, 02:50 PM) Hey may I know where is the best spot to have diving lessons at Malaysia? and is diving expensive? I guess for the PADI lessons need almost RM1k but what the equipment for future diving courses? u can try Tioman to start your dive adventures. lotsa choices and price range. as for the future costs involved, and is diving expensive, it's all relative to the experience we get. I stopped counting my diving expenses already har har it's not the cheapest hobby, but i think all of us here would say the cost to benefit analysis would be greatly in favour of u joining in the fun! |

for leisure diving u can try Eco-divers at ABC, Dive Asia at Salang , or Damai Tioman at Kg Genting. so many choices. you should be looking for good instructors, not only dive centres. u can PM me for recommendations. anyone else with ideas? am sure there's a few instructors lurking around in here...
