Waterpipe connector snapped.

If you notice the bluish thing under the thermostat, that's the TDC sensor, already detached casing direct solder it on

This is what being clamp out from the water hose, the join connector was badly rusted until it snapped while I was driving

Speechless unsure.gif Are you seriously come here and search for help? Why don't you send it to reputable Shawie/Renault repairer, get it properly diagnose. You're breaking a sensor, not bonnet clip so small matter. Don't know what you've been thinking. It's not small matter like you can DIY to solve it. If the engine keep on failing, in the end it will cost you even more to repair it doh.gif

u have to change it to new one. last time i bought it in 2010, the price is about 210. now should be cheaper. (agaknye lah).. try to consult the nearest workshop/kedai spare part. probably they knew how to dismantle the sensor properly.

actually im not making the the sensor defect.. only the sensor housing break, it cant stick on the intake box.. that time im on highway, my car suddenly off and cant start, i try my best la.. try to open the sensor and it break..

why i'm thinking to bypass it cause i think if the sensor defect it would be dangerous for passenger, cause the brake system not even functional when i close the hole without using it. now i just use glass glue to stick it on the intake box and avoid air leakage..

1. depand on where you send. if you know where to buy parts and which shop. it might cost reasonable for an old car.
2. quite saving. you can check with davidke20 fuelly siggy. mine on the other hand are quite high cause i drive like f1 racer when i'm in my savvy..
3. yes of course. 2005 above car without power steering is not a car.. lolz..
4. yes. it will breakdown after 5 year old. also depend on luck and previous owner maintenance record.

i'm in mood to spoon-feed people. You can find all this info using search function by this tered.

These few days was losing coolant pretty quickly, and also notice water dripped out near the drive side of the car at the engine area. Particularly dripped down from crankshaft pulley. I certainly know there isn't any water supposed to came out from crankshaft, so I already suspect water pump will be the culprit. Didn't think much immediately I proceed to sparepart shop look for 1. Price range between 260 ~ 480. After many hours of searching and calling, finally got 1 reasonably cheap Taiwan stock, my regular sparepart shop in KL asking for RM150. I was happily getting myself ready to drive back to KL and buy it. On the way there, magician called, the story as below:

Ring..
Me: Elo ah hia, an jua? uh boh wa eh sawi water pam?
Magician: Si liao lar ah hia. Wa meng sepepatsiop ka liao, ji ba si jap koh ar. Jia gui lor
Me: Har?! Ji ba si jap koh ar?! Aih... an jua hor? Boh ban huat lor, pai ki liao an jua? Ai jor gui pon si ai jor liao lar
Magician: Hmm anikuan ho lar. Wa giu ee lang gia lai, lu mia zai lai jor lar

Translated:

Ring..
Me: Elo brader, how? Got anot my sawi water pam?
Magician: Die lah. I asked all sepepatsiop, 140 ar. Very expansive lor
Me: Har?! 140 ar? Aih... how? No choice lor, rosak ady how? If need do expansive also have to do lar
Magician: Hmm like that ok lar. I ask them bring over, lu tomolo come do lar

Immediately change direction didn't go back KL take stock. Wasn't expect he can get even cheaper. So ok lar, was about to postpone it until next timing belt change only do 1 shot. But later thought of everyday travel like 200km, scared if anything happened stranded by the road side again. Also worrying, what if the water pump pulley snapped? If the pulley fly out nevermind can atleast get it replace, but what happen if the pulley just break away and doesn't fly out hitting other pulley and component? So, this afternoon die² still go back to magician and let him do.

When arrived:

Poor magician get an instant hot spring shower

And found out, not only the water pump bearing is leaking, the connector hose is breaking apart too since it's plastic

Here's a closer look

Well, unable to get it repair by today, in the midst of sourcing a piece of METAL connecting pipe, rather than worrying when the new plastic pipe will break again doh.gif
