hi, i own a savvy 2005. the blue edition with white sport rim and it is manual. i got so many question regarding this cute car. so many and i almost forgot what to ask. hopefully i can ask from time to time. hopefully i can get some basic information from all guru here.

ok these are some of my questions:

1- is better to stick with the 15'' sport rim or change it to 14''? whats are the pros and cons?
2- what are the maximum tyre size can be fit into the 15"? and for 14"? will it sagat?
3- this car never been to proton service centre, so i guest it never get the replacement treatment for rear bearings. can i get that if i send it now? will i be charge for that, and how much it will make my small pocket rabak?

i have encountered problems like jerking at lower rpm, speedometer dropped, disfunction aircond, temperatures rinse at traffic jam and last year my rear bearing on the left side jahanam. it stopped me immediately. lucky there was no other car behind. and the kampung pomen changed the bearings on both side.

4- i jack my car, and try to turn the wheel by hands. the right wheel is hard to turn. is it the brake pad? or bearings? how long a bearings can lasts? i am already has gone for 130k km. before this it was my mom's car. and now she let me using this cute car. and most of all the time, my younger brother using it without proper maintenance.

5- should i use syntium 800 10/30 or 800 10/40 or just the normal mineral engine oil like march 10/30?

6- where is the best place to do alligment in pj/puchong/shah alam? who can give best service and good knowledge about this savvy?

thats all for now. any answers from you are highly appreciated from noob like me. and i am proud for having this car even it not so cun like those savvy outside there.


ps: edit mileage.. it should be 130k. not 230k.

1- ya ya ya... thats the one.. but mine full of scratches and dirty rims. keep the 15'' heh.. ok.. but i want the tyre a bit height. can i install 175/60/15 or change to 185/60/14?

3- 3 months with 6 bearings? wow!! r u the one who bought that car for 7k? for the last two years i have read several comments in this thread looking for some solutions, some helps and some donts. this is the first time i ask here. but i know some of u like davidke, another one hypermount, nox and some other guys are active and keep sharing solutions and problems u guys had. but cant remembered all the thing u all said.

4- just check and repair. the piston told by the mechanics. it was the front wheel.

5- for 80 ringgit rights? surely pilihan bijak.. just changed to something name i-sint. feels good before semua campur rojak. kejab pakai formula 1 botol biru, kejab mineral. baru nak try syntium, dah masuk i-sint. better than formula 1. engine senyap and a bit smooth.

6- i will try nox's suggestions. btw thanks for welcoming me into this rare club. savvy is limited. savvy is special. savvy is rare. savvy gives headache. i love savvy. even got so many savvy cun out there, but i still love my ride.

thanks nox.. my nct5 is now botak kiri kanan dalam dan luar. dalam satu inci gitu ler.. thought i want to downgrade to 14'' with thicker tyres. (height). if i am not mistaken, the best size is 185/60/14 with alloy rim 14'' 5.5 jj offset 38. normal service alignment will cost around that too or cheaper?

3- wow.. feels glads to hear that.. hopefully they will change it for me. all these time this car at my hometown, and never been to proton service even for the 1st service. they will change the bearings or the spindle? tougher spindle right? like saga or blm spindle.

4- i was charged 240 for kiri kanan bearing belakang. have to park the car for 1 day dlm bengkel lori sawit. the only things that is not in the tanah merah kaler was my savvy.

5- fully sync huh.. just changed to i-sint semi sync. rm110 for 4 ltr.

ok this is not an emergency, but may i ask, where is water tank for rear wiper? what should i dismantle first to find it? it never been refill since 2005.

ohh.. okeh... tq..

i really want to change the engine oil by myself. but that day i look under the engine, none of my tools can fit that nut. and i found out my ejos bocor. so replaced the cat con and the muffler. while the car on the big lift, i found out got some oil at the left side engine. suspect gearbox oil. so changed the gearbox oil plus i-sint and service the front wheel piston brake.

next will change tyres or probably downgrde to 14''. i see lots of savvy use 14''. i want to use 14'' with thicker tyre. hopefully 185/60/14 with 14'' 5.5 jj is suitable..

and as i read previous comments, suddenly i remember something.. it is a comments from sifu davidke20.. its something like he explaining some sounds but he typed it.. i remembered how i laughed that night. and i keep reading it over and over again.. omg.. thats funny. i dont how to use the keywords search.. i have to start from v1. like the first time i want to know why my aircond hot and at the same time the speedometer sometime idup sometime kong and sometime dia idup rasa mcm naik kuda. sometime dia kong takde jerking. i took me 6 months to settle it down. somesays this la.. itu laa..

its not that ngong ngong... something like mukekekeke,,,muuuueeekekekek.. problem cant start or something about fuel pump.. u can describe the sound exactly how it should be.. it is like u have own the car for 10 years and having all sorts of problems..

is it too wide?

i throw away my abs last time after changed to something name ride.. probably proride.. last year i think.. it served us for 8 years.. after 6 years, faced jerking, aircond kong, after 7 years, temperature went up, abs kong, then rear bearings, after 9 years brake piston jammed (front wheel), gearbox oil leaking (changed the engine oil cover), ejos bocor (this is the second time, first time was in 2006), lampu depan terbakar dekat 12 kali, few months ago controller power window jammed.

want to change the saga spindle, but have to wait. dah byk keluar bulan ni.. tunggu budget dua tiga bulan depan. how much will i kopak for the parts and labour? have anyone here done it? i think one of u had done it..

Wakakakaka... Thats the one.. Itu cukup lawak sampai bila bila.
Proton pun tak diagnos itu mcm. Dia cucuk bende yg bawah steering cuma cakap error ajer. Tapi sifu davidke20 ada cara baik nak diagnos. Power beb.. Power.. Itu mmg tak ble lawan.. Bergegar bahu aku ketawa nih. Baca dua tiga kali pastu try kat kete sendiri. Baru afdal.

Wow.. Aku pernah tak ble start. Pasal tak tutup lampu. Lepas tolak berpeluh pun tak mau gak. Tarik guna hilux 15 km (plus ronda) sambil masuk gear. Pun tak ble gak. Last last aku cabut bateri. Tunggu 5 minit. Pasang balik. Dia start mcm dia tak pernah ada bagi apa apa masalah kat aku.

Savvy ada guna alternator tak? Aku bab kete ni tak pandai. Aku main agak agak ajer. Mungkin kapasitor atau alternator yg simoan karen tu dah jahanam agaknye. Ble jadik ke sifu davidkee20. Maaf kalau tak membantu.

Try cara sifu davidke20 check fuel pump function ke idok. Yg mukekkekek tu

Tgk signature si dares kat pos atas. Tapi utk full explanation kene pi page yg abe davidke20 bgtau cara detail. Camne nak tau bunyi pam minyak tu jahanam ke tak. Yg aku tau bila bukak pintu ko masukkan kunci, kasik dia dlm keadaan standby dan ko akan dengo uuuuuuttt kat belakang. Tu bunyi pam kot.

Aku pun tak nah nampak. Nak tolong taruk sini aku pun tak reti guna hp ni. Time press pedal tu takde sengguk sengguk ke. Atau ko tekan dia free dan kete terus meluncur gitu je

My symptom was speedometer drop. Probably it is related to it too. U can try service the tdc sensor drivenheat. Who knows it might solve the problem?

Kalau lap lap si tdc sensor pun tak mau, ko try bukak satu suis ni. Aku tak tau nama dia. Kalau ko diri depan enjin. Belah kanan ko ade kabereter. Ko lirik mata ko ke kiri. Ada mcm suis atau plug. Ko cabut bende tu. Pastu ko tarik bende yg tertinggal kat enjin ke magnifold ke intake ke apa tah nama dia tu dan ko cuci. Connection dedua belah tu pun cuci sekali lah.

Try je. Tak susah mana pun. Tapi buat tdc sensor dulu. Kalau tak bole gak buat bende aku ckp ni. Tapi tu symptom dia kalau time idle timing ko tinggi. Aku cuci bende alah tu lps aku spray kabreter tapi tak jadik apa. Maka aku cabut bende tu. Aku servis. Pasal ada byk sensor kot kat savvy. Ko servis la memana sensor yg ada. Tiga kali aku jumpa problem savvy ni semua pasal sensor. Nasib aku teka betul. Tak pun tunggu otai savvy lain bagi pendapat.

Aku rasa cara ni pun abe davidke20 ada bgtau dulu. Aku tak ingat version/thread ke berapa. Tapi aku sanjung dia ni pasal dia ni teliti la. Bunyi dan ejaan dia type mmg sama. Buahahaha.. Rasanye ilmu tu aku dpt dr dia kot. Cuma aku alih bahasa kan dia. Maaf sifu. Credit to u..
