Summary
>Download KitKat FTF firmware
>Check if the file is corrupted using md5 hash (if don't want also just proceed)
>Get latest flashtool (from flashtool.net)
>Put the FTF file in "firmware" folder in flashtool installation folder
>Open Flashtool , Click LIGHTNING ICON
>Select FTF
>Off phone then connect it using Flashmode (hold Volume down, then connect USB)


but prior to all these there may be a lot of drivers you need to download, i.e Google USB drivers. I'm honestly too lazy to list all of those out.

i.e you snap a pic in portrait but it appears as like....... rotated.

ok. something like

you took pic in portrait orientation. but when u view. it's rotated ACW, so basically the pic is sideways when viewing.

I'm going to be updating my firmware but after that will factory reset, lazy and too much hassle to manually install all the apps again I know there is a way to auto install but I can't find it. apparently it's an Android feature

Settings - More - Mobile Network - Network Mode change to Lte.

There is a shortcut for quick settings also, you just modify that quick settings list yourself.

Go to Amcorp Mall and let SEMS to repair. Or find IXSUN.



My advice is go to SEMS better, faster (in my experience). First repair I sent, within 3 working days done.

but I think they repair AP set will charge you or don't repair at all. Because they're authorised Sony service center, which means they repair original sets only usually

Are you guys referring to the WiFi "authentication" problem?

I've no issues with that since one of the 4.3 updates.

But now I'm on custom ROM (AOSP) lah (started today) so I'm not sure if will face this issue or not, chances are I won't.

You need to be rooted on older firmwares first, and have recovery on locked bootloader. Then only you may proceed.

Best way to do it, flash back all the way to .534 firmware; use bin4ry root tool. Then start updating up to .757 using one of the flash firmware methods that you can find on XDA. I forgot it's made by who, I think it's NUT or krabbapel or Doomlord.

Done.

Other steps, just back up your TA partition first (must be rooted)

then just flash custom ROM

Firmware not important. I'm on Singapore firmware anyway lol.

Chinese input I'm not sure but you might want to try SwiftKey if they support Chinese input or not.

Backing up TA is done once but recommended you back up additional by copy-paste the backed up folder/files, or upload a copy to Cloud service.

yes, firmware update, just wait for NUT or whoever that is handling the root to upload the flashable firmware. recommended not to use OTA or PC Companion because it might delete your root.

the only reason why you're not able to update via OTA or PC Companion is because
1) TA partition does not exist (it's like a license, unique and not able to use other phones')
2) Bootloader unlocked
3) system/app modified


TA partition only goes missing when you unlock bootloader, which is why you need to back up, then restore it after unlocking BL.
