I noticed sometimes Petronas sometimes give poorer FC thats why I try reduce using Petronas.

Exclusively Petronas (excl those stations that give inferior fuel)

many many years ago I tracked my fc, including gas stations, over 5-year period... had a big spreadsheet n charts too... lol

I found petronas gave the most consistent fc...and easily amongst the top 3

also fc fluctuates about the same time with all stations... like high tide low tide... all stations affected together... so if petronas is bad by x%... shell is also bad by x%... strange can't figure this out

also different cars gave a different overall "best" petrol station... Wira best on Caltex, Accord best on Shell, Altis best on Petronas, etc...

nowadays no more tracking and not too bothered which station liao... hahaha

anyways I just concluded a test... 80 vs 100 kmh max

car: ct200h
mode: normal
tyre: ps3, 35psi, 20% tread
eo: no idea
test distance: 1600km (about 1 month)
test route: subang-bangsar
time: 5:30am (50% highway speed limit test), 1pm (50% urban jam)
driving style: uncle

80 kmh - 4.1L/100km (24.4 km/l)
100 kmh - 4.3L/100km (23.3 km/l)

with some "optimal" stop-go traffic got it down to 4.0 L/100km...

will not be repeating this test... so stressful going such low speed... sweat.gif ... also got overtooked by lorry kena batu cracked my windscreen...

In my case, I only use 2 brand petrol, petronas and bhp both 95 which due to setel apps/mesra points and cc rebates respectively. And since Im working in Lumut and back to KL every weekend, back and forth, data will based on my car meter, Accord 2.4 2015.

Consistently Petronas 95 give better km/l vs BHP 95. I get around 13.5-13.7km/l for per trip via Petronas which speed range from 110kmh at kampung road and 140-150kmh at highway. I try to maintain the same driving pattern eventhough it might close to 100% accuracy.

Bhp give me around 12.5-12.6km/l. This is based on my meter and it will automatically reset to 0 when I refuel. I will refuel when light up.

thanks... good to know

what surprised me was best petrol for my wira end up being worst for my accord... I can only conclude different engine likes different petrol...

Is the fuel consumption liter/100km in the car meter can be trusted? Some says it is not accurate, some say the car ECU should give the most accurate reading because it monitors the amount of fuel the engine use all the time. Which method do you think the best?

My Persona FC used to fluctuates a lot, sometimes 7.9L/100km, sometimes 8.8L/100Km. This year I decided to mess around with the MAP sensor, change air filter and clean throttle body, use heavier stock sport rim, and 10w40 oil instead of mineral 20w50, now the meter is constant at 8.7L/100km (about 10% more fuel consumption). However the mileage per liter doesn't feel changed because 11 liter of Ron95 still give me the same mileage as before.

it is accurate with limitations... did you noticed when coasting the instant meter reads 0... or when idling/creeping can give funky numbers? these are wrong numbers... usually it doesn't skew the L/100km too much but it can

the tank fill method would be the most accurate provided you don't trap gas pockets inside when filling

I mean - a Hybrid is meant to save fuel right?
*
hybrid just means got engine & motor lah

while some are designed more for economy, like Prius... some designed more for power, like koenigsegg... and everything in between... no hard n fast rules how you supposed to drive it...

anyways too bad malaysian mentality sucks, so a lot of good looking hybrids and phev don't make it here...

Different people drive car differently and under different condition so quite meaningless to compare.

I have a HRV and everybody say they get 10 km/l. Mine? Around 8 km/l for very short 2 or 3 km distance town driving.

yes we know... just showing potential...

I have tried with another car. Long distance gentle driving can get me 50% MORE mileage compared to everyday town driving.

...and I'd believe you...

I was testing to get more insights into Toyota's hybrid system... now I know the 1st/2nd gen favours moderate speed and some stop-go town driving and not highway where fc gets worse > 70 kmh... whist the 3rd gen on the Camry can do better... now to study Honda's new hybrid system...
