currently eyeing that GTX980 AMP! Extreme for my 2015 post CNY build... hopefully something comes up and maybe more choices?

so far, in my opinion, the ZOTAC AMP! Extreme looks the slickest,
coz they no longer use their err... orangey fans (looks kinda cheap to me...  sweat.gif )
*
Something like MSI GTX980 Lightning Edition? brows.gif But they're not gonna do anything about Lightning series so far,in case NVidia releases another top-end card.. icon_idea.gif

The fans on the AMP! Extreme Edition looks like blades.. sweat.gif

Hmm... MSI.... their lightning edition eh? hahaha.... seems they really reserve the "Lightning" for the highest of end card possible  sweat.gif
hahahah, yea, them blades  brows.gif  brows.gif  and also, the armor-like frame that encase the fans  drool.gif
hmm.... this is not good, RMA-able?  hmm.gif
*
Yup.They might've not done the GTX78 Lightning if NVidia had announced the GTX780Ti earlier lol. nod.gif

Comes at a price.RM200 than the AMP! Omega Edition. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(rurushu @ Sep 25 2014, 02:43 PM)
hmm.... what is the difference between AMP! Omega and AMP! Extreme apart from the Carbon ExoArmor-like case?

Their base clocks and boost clocks are the same?    only aesthetics different?  hmm.gif
oh.... then same principle goes for PSU then, coil whine = manufacture defects = RMA-able  hmm.gif
so you mean based on your past experiences, reference cards are highly possible to be plagued by coil whine issue compared to custom cooler solutions?  hmm.gif
*
There's core clock and memory clock differences, actually. tongue.gif

GTX980 AMP! Extreme Edition -Core Clock:1291MHz Base,1393 Boost|Memory Clock:7200MHz|Cooler:Triple-fan IceStorm w/ Carbon ExoArmor
GTX980 AMP! Omega Edition - Core Clock:1202MHz Base,1294 Boost|Memory Clock:7046MHz|Cooler:Dual-fan IceStorm w/ ExoArmor

I've no idea,why Zotac put this.. hmm.gif

hmm, plan to dissemble my gpu - Asus. on the 1 of the screw, got 1 white round sticker on it. i think its an indicator to see whether its removed or not for warranty purpose.

so um, is it safe to remove and re-stick it? tongue.gif

Maybe your Asus GTX780Ti DCUII is a lemon one.. sweat.gif Since it can't even OC more than 50MHz. sweat.gif

The only thing I can think of now is going to the Justsoy shop nearby, buying taufufa and yau char kwai but that SOB only buka kedai at 10am.

I have replaced the coolers for all my graphic cards since Geforce 8800GT with Artic Cooling GPU coolers.

980ti might be far off my budget range :3 My GTX680 cant achieve 60 fps smooth for AC4 Black flag. only hover about 55 at ultra setting. But yeah might wait a bit see if 980 gonna go down or not. But my point is, is it worth it to sell my 680 and get 970, and in future possibly sell 970 get 980/980ti
