if you have ASW cert, you can apply overdraft facilities from the bank...this thing quite famous in 2008 till 2010 i think..
let say, u have 50k in asw, u convert it to cert and apply OD at the bank, bank will give u 90% of the OD cert i.e 45k...

from the OD, u withdraw another 40k and invest it in asw or asb again...u left 5k in the current to service the fee..

if u do this, you can earn dividend of (50k+40k)Xdiv rate...

if you dont do that, u only earn 50kXdiv rate...

which one will generate more money?

but of course, you have to pay the OD facilities ranging blr-1 to blr-1.65, depend on the bank...

wow, that's very good. but too bad it's discontinue for ASW2020. Only for ASB & i'm not qualify for it cry.gif

Any update will be made and complete before Sunday.

What I mean was the difficulties that he would face if he decides to sell his units and then repurchase it again. Lets put it in this way, he buys 1000 units of ASM now and lets say if he decided to sell it off in 3 months and buying back again after that would be a hassle as his not guaranteed that he could buy back his desired units as its subjected to availability.

Whereas, he could withdraw his FD at anytime and could still opt to open back a new deposit account when ever he wishes without worrying of any restrictions such as quota or availability of units.
*
Agreed. Once withdraw from ASx scheme, there's no gurentee we can get back the same amount later when we got the money cry.gif

IINM I read on ASNB's FB page that the program is still ongoing but the relevant "quota" for those eligible for the scheme is reducing and should be fully taken up in a year or so.
*

LOL. K those want invest in ASN3, can invest after the 1st day the dividend declared date... because the price is the lowest and equal to the price after dividend declared ( lol i don't know hoe to explain in words but, its lowest NAV through out the financial year.)
*
The NAV @ price are adjusted for dividend payment & FYI it's called ex-date smile.gif
Some may think its "cheaper" to invest after dividend payment, but actually it's not. There's a big argument in FSM thread before on tis issue.

Thanks guys. Which of these two better if I plan to keep such as RM13k one time and I don't think will withdraw in nearest time. And perhaps contribute RM500/ month? Will withdraw my KWSP soon, and KWSP yearly dividend is smaller compared to ASB.
*
Better to invest 13k lump sum then 500/month in ASB icon_rolleyes.gif No worries smile.gif

Erm, what I mean is RM13k + RM500 every month. I think it's better than keep the money inside KWSP.
*
If u not yet max your ASB, then good to add more into ASB icon_rolleyes.gif Confirm Better return than KWSP.

QUOTE(diaBoliQu3 @ Jul 20 2014, 11:41 PM)
Hmmm... Yeah, ASB is the best I think if we think about low risk with steady return. But, reading and seeing Public Bank Mutual fund yearly report make me changed my mind.
*
do u know PM have one of the highest SC @ 5.5%
if u really want to invest those "private" UT funds, better use Fundsupermart or eunittrust. Sometimes got promo 0% SC

for performance of those UT, can visit morningstar website.

QUOTE(plumberly @ Jul 21 2014, 12:32 PM)
Just realised that there is another PM in my town. So went there today while in that area for another job.

Small PM and only 1 staff, pretty lady. Ha.

Got RM1K ASM on my first line and expected more. Was about to sms my friend on this big catch till the lady told me only RM100 for the second line.  After checking my AS1M & ASW, she checked my ASM again and got RM900. So total RM2K.

Not bad. Not many people go to that small PM (so no queue problem), pretty, friendly & helpful staff.

Lucky me? Ha.
*
lucky u managed to find Small PM Branch rclxms.gif

Anyway congrats for getting ASM units today. I failed to get any ASM but managed to get rm500 for ASW2020. I think u already "grab" my ASM units before my turn came cry.gif biggrin.gif

Yeah, I was shocked to hear that service charge. And they say can't bypass them. Okay, learned something new regarding fundsupermart etc...

Most of my friend encourage me into ASB. Some even loan for ASB too.
*
Yup, ASB kinda "safe" investment & almost risk free. Normally 7% are in hand every year. That's why u see almost everyone has ASB Blue Passbook. rclxm9.gif Try u max your ASB 1st flex.gif

QUOTE(hyelbaine @ Jul 21 2014, 10:51 AM)
Agreed. Most people don't realize this and I've never been advised as such when those PM agents approach me. If the SC is so high than makes earning a profit on your investments so much harder as the yield required to cover the 5.5% SC is even greater.

p/s: Also numerous times I've caught PM agents who approach me but don't have license tongue.gif
*
Those PM "agents" main aim is to increase sales & make Commission only nod.gif That's why when u invest in something, better to do some research 1st smile.gif

Hope the trend will not only maintain but increase further. Ha. Greedy guy!  rclxm9.gif

Cheerio.

I got an amanah saham gemilang (bank book), may I know where can I update my bank book? I had been to post office, they asked me to go to bank to update it!

Why PM didn't update your ASG passbook & ask u to go to bank? rclxub.gif Normally in PM we can do all ASx transaction nod.gif

or maybe after the so-called ASG "upgrade" recently, POS M'sia cannot "access" the ASNB system for ASG related transaction hmm.gif
