hmm I have a few bookings with pay later using amex but I didn't get charged the usd1 or the amount yet, I think it will be charged on the date that it mentioned on agoda

you guys managed to pay through paypal ? I called CS to activate to allow for today but after that I tried a few more times only the USD1 went through but not the attempted amount ? Just got this message "The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number."

Ok just found out from CS I need to confirm the amex card with Paypal first then call maybank to allow paypal transaction, arrgh so much trouble

best way is still call maxis on fri night and they will give a call back on sat morning so you can pay with amex

amex team only work half day on sat actually

i think u should call maxis earlier around 7-8am to leave a call back just in case, you never know if the amex team might be too busy in that few hours

they don't process on weekends for maybank card centre

U would also need to confirm your amex card with paypal, rm10 will be charged which will be reimburse later to paypal account

actually for Platinum it's not that beneficial either in the T&C if the delay is from your home country then no claims

i already tested without login to paypal account and tried to pay with amex it doesn't work

if you guys have hlb wise then can use it much easier

i didn't get that error it just says to use another card but i'll try again this weekend as I ask the merchant to manually issue the invoice to me using paypal

if u still have to spent u still can get 5x points still not bad. Aeon watami just 1% percent higher only

any idea why it cannot ? perhaps can try to get a written reply from Paypal

yes I have gotten reply from them as below

Kindly be informed AMEX credit card is not allowed as a funding source for few of the  transaction currencies  like  TRY,  BRL, MYR, PHP, THB, TWD, MXN, ILS. This is an expected behavior when transacting in these currencies. However, this depends on American Express itself.

When this happens, the system will prompt you to use a different funding source. Currently, your alternative to complete the payment are as follow:

?             Add a non AMEX card to your PayPal account, or
?             Top Up your PayPal account with MYR from RHB bank

so far use amex line to call many times, i must say so far so good

yeah it's better to activate later, i realized that you can transfer money into the credit card when it is not activated

yeah can't, so i confirmed my amex card with paypal for nothing
