Someone PM me about Proscar and hair loss but I lost the PM.
A 26 year old dude.

Better buy Rogaine Foam from evitamins.com...using a credit card.
Clinically proven.
RM240 last time I bought it.

Better email them 1st to confirm whether they send it to Malaysia or not.

One research study has shown that the use of aromatherapy can help to encourage hair to grow on spots of the scalp that are bald. In particular the essential oils lavender, rosemary, cedarwood and thyme when mixed with jojoba oil can stimulate the growth of hair. This recipe includes three drops of thyme, three drops of lavender, three drops of cedarwood, three drops of rosemary, 1/8 cup of grapeseed oil and 1/8 cup of jojoba oil. All you need to do is to mix all ingredients together and then apply several drops to your scalp. Do this every night before going to bed and massage the mixture gently into the scalp for a period of three to five minutes, avoiding the eye area.

Guys,

Just bought Propecia  or also known as finasteride by MSD. Price RM150.00 for 28 tablets. The best offer so far.

According to the Pharmacist. the first 3 months of consuming those pills, your balding process will significantly decreased or stop and new hair will start growing and give it another 3 months or so to see visible results of full hair.

Since my case is at early stage, it is best for me to start now rather later when it is too late.

I've heard about the side effects. But the percentage are too low. So I thought, why just  I give it a try?

Will come here and report the progress in 3 months time. Hopefully to see some good results.

By the way, I have few friends who is sharing the same problem as mine. Luckily I act fast. I started to use mild shampoo about 6 months ago (herb shampoo is the best). Wash my hair daily. Drink lot of water. Do some sports and control my diet (avoid oily food). The balding process start to slow down even though it never stop. Unlike my friend who reluctant to anything about it, is getting balder than ever and now he had to wearing cap the whole time to cover it. Hopefully, if this medicine works for me, I might suggest him to try.

Anyone here taking Propecia? Mind to share?

So basically if you spot ur dad is bald in certain regions in his head just like how my dad do, means sooner later you will be like him.. Sorry to freak some of you out but this is fact.. LoL

Tendency To Hair Loss Inherited From The Mother

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2005/...50520172151.htm

ScienceDaily (May 20, 2005) - It begins with receding hairlines, the forehead becomes higher, the hair at the back of the man's head gets thinner and thinner. Every second man suffers from greater or lesser hair loss. There are hardly any successful counter-measures - despite an enormous range of obscure lotions and tinctures.

It has long been suspected that hereditary factors are important in causing hair loss. However, up to now it was unclear which genes are involved. The researchers in the team headed by Professor Markus Nthen of the Life & Brain Centre of the Bonn University Clinic and Dr. Roland Kruse of the Skin Clinic of Dsseldorf University Clinic seem to have now discovered one of the factors responsible for the first time.

For several years the researchers had searched nationwide for families in which several men were affected by hair loss. In blood samples taken from the volunteers they then looked for candidate genes - and eventually discovered them: in their initial step they succeeded in narrowing down the search to a series of areas on various chromosomes. In an area where the largest contribution was suspected lay the gene for the androgen receptor. "One variant of this gene was found among men who suffered from premature balding at a very early stage very much more often than among men who still had a full head of hair when over 60," Professor Nthen says.

More androgen receptors in the scalp

Probably the genetic variant results in more androgen receptors in the scalp. "Our findings permit two explanations," Axel Hillmer from Prof. Nthen's team explains. "Either more androgen receptors are formed among the men affected, or the variant of the receptor which develops as a result of the genetic change is more stable and is not broken down so quickly. Both mechanisms can lead to the effect of the androgens becoming greater, which in turn brings about hair loss."

The findings are also interesting for the aspect of how hair loss is inherited. The gene for the androgen receptor lies on the x chromosome. Men always inherit the x chromosome from their mother. In many cases men therefore take after their grandfather on their mother's side rather than their father. However, this defect is not simply caused by one gene: "We have indications that other genes are involved which are independent of the parents' sex," Prof. Nthen stresses. The hereditary defect can therefore sometimes also be passed on directly from father to son. Bald men wanted

In order to identify more genes involved the research team is searching for more volunteers. "Men under 40 with severe hair loss can take part," Dr. Kruse says. "If they have a brother who is affected and the parents are also prepared to give blood samples, so much the better. Volunteers taking part in the study will, of course, be paid for their assistance."

###

The project is being supported by the German Research Association (DFG) and the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation. Professor Nthen holds the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Chair of Genetic Medicine. The Life & Brain Centre is a new research team at the Bonn University Clinic which uses state of the art technologies to carry out application-oriented aetiology.

After hours of googling.
Minoxidil seem work. Refer the description below or google for more info.
I bought one few weeks ago in www.eBay.com.my keyword: minoxidil

Good luck

WHAT IS MINOXIDIL?

Minoxidil is a vasodilator (the process in which the blood vessels expand), originally used to treat high blood pressure in an oral drug known as Loniten. During the use of this drug, it was later discovered to have significant "hair regrowth" capabilities. In 1988, Pharmacia & Upjohn Co. first introduced the FDA-approved formula under the brand name "Rogaine" which was proven to STOP HAIR LOSS in its tracks, and actually help REGROW HAIR BACK THAT WAS ALREADY LOST!!! Since 1996 (patent expired Feb 13, 1996), these products and strengths can now be sold over-the-counter as non-prescription drugs. The minoxidil up for sale is a clear solution, not a foam, gel, or irritating lotion. Both the 2%(Men and Women) and 5%(Men Only) have now been approved by the FDA for over the counter distribution. Although the mechanism of action to this day is still unknown, Minoxidil still exceeds as the number one treatment for hair loss in the United States!!!

WHO CAN USE MINOXIDIL?

Minoxidil has been proven to be effective to stop hair loss and regrow hair for both men and women of all colors and types. Typically the 5% and above is for men only, and the 2% strength is for both men and women. If you are just starting to thin on the top of the scalp, it is recommended that you start with the 2% first, and see how this strength works, before moving on to a stronger concentration. Women should not use any strength higher then the 2%.

DO NOT USE MINOXIDIL IF YOU:
*

Are currently Pregnant or lactating
*

Under the age of 18
*

Currently use other medications on the scalp
*

Have infected, irritated, painful or sunburned scalp
*

If you have any doubts about using this product, talk to your physician first
