QUOTE(pikafaded @ Apr 28 2021, 04:34 PM) Just normal service like oil changing and throttle body cleaning For normal service, I normally go to SS3 Khong Tai tyre to do oil change.. I buy my own oil and filter. If you need to do throttle body cleaning also... I suggest you to go VMAG motorsport lor.. The can do oil change and throttle body cleaning + recalibrate your ECU. Though a bit far near to Bandar Sri Damansara, they do a good job in servicing and throttle body cleaning.

QUOTE(pikafaded @ Apr 28 2021, 06:34 PM) Thanks, for oil change they dont have the oil you use is it? Or it is cheaper for you to buy yourself and ask them to change? Cheaper and also I prefer to choose my own engine oil and filter.

QUOTE(LemonKnight @ Apr 30 2021, 02:19 PM) I need to change the fan belt on this car. Would it be okay to use a 5pk1140 belt instead of the original 5pk1137? Always stick to the original specification to avoid problems later on.

QUOTE(pikafaded @ Apr 30 2021, 04:51 PM) Can I confirm our city is using NS40ZL battery size? What's the difference with NS40, is it compatible as well? And if I got the spanner, is it okay to just buy a battery online and swap it right? Will it reset anything other than the FM stations and the clock? TMO is using NS40ZL. The different i think is the battery terminal head is smaller compared to NS40 or the positive & negative terminal are totally opposite from the NS40ZL.

QUOTE(pikafaded @ May 3 2021, 09:25 PM) Has anyone tuned their gear ratio to make it even low rpm while crusing at highway speed? Just curious if it can be done hahaha sorry for this stupid question I know manual transmission can be done but that too depends on whether there are after market gear ratios available or not. For auto, i don't think you can tune the gear ratio since dissaembling the gearbox will cost a few thousand. Not to mention whether there are any after market gear ratios available. I personally feel the current cruising rpm is quite good already. Lower than that the car won't have power.

A car can run on lower rpm provided the engine can generate high torque at low rpm. This will make overtaking easier when cruising at lower rpm.
Continental cars often came with turbo or higher displacement. That is why their engine rpm tends to be lower during highway cruising.
For Honda City with its measely 1.5 engine, able to cruise at 120kmh @ 2500rpm is already considered good.

QUOTE(nike89 @ May 4 2021, 11:38 AM) aircond starts giving some issue during hot day, if i drive out from covered parking, aircond still fine, cold cold ok la. if i park road side for tapau like 15 mins only, abit hard to make the interior cooler back any insight to avoid i get chopped by aircond foreman? Car old is like that lor.. Mine behave the same too. I've sent for servicing by cleaning the condenser and refilling with new gas and oil. Cooling improves a bit only during hot afternoon. Btw, my aircond dial is set at 60% only.. Haven't turn it all the way to 100%. I think probably the compressor is old and can't expect it to perform like new.

QUOTE(nike89 @ May 5 2021, 09:52 AM) last July i got refilling with new gas and oil jor and keep the aircond dial around 40% all the time (old habit since new car) worry leaking also on conderser... Try to turn up the aircond dial up to 60% lor.. I doubt there are leaks. If there is... Within a week you're out of gas and the compressor will not function (as a fail safe to prevent damage). Thus, there won't be cool air coming out from the vents.

QUOTE(pikafaded @ May 8 2021, 10:55 PM) My car's left hand side rear tyre has some noise (sounds like I have another engine on the back) while driving, it becomes very pronounced when I cruising at higher speed and letting of my pedal. I'm suspecting it might be bearing issue? Has anyone faced the same problem like me before? Rear suspension work on a very simple mechanical concept only.. Most likely is bearing since this version of City is old. The only issue I found coming from the rear passenger area was the 'clicking' sound when we go though bumps or uneven surfaces. Solve this few years back when AR Auto Care found it was the rear seat latch that was having some free play which caused the clicking sound.

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ May 9 2021, 08:16 AM) lol..i have that clicking sound from my driver seat. but I thought mine was from the seat belt click device. i never know for sure but it sounds like the same when I pull my seat belt when its still clicked in place. pikafaded should be wheel bearing. easily checked by mechanics. they will jack up your car and spin your wheel bearing manually and see if its rotating freely. i had mine replaced some years ago but the noise wasn't that noticeable. I brush it off as tyre noise previously. also rear ones. front ones never replaced yet. the symptoms you mentioned sounds like wheel bearing, where the faster you drive, the louder it sound. but most people describe it as aeroplane sound. Are you a fat guy? If you're a fat guy, I suppose the cushion already condemn already.. That's why you have those noise.

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ May 9 2021, 02:44 PM) Recommended to replace both rear one at the same time. I changed maybe 3 years ago rm760 all in. But that was before i know how to find info online and buy my own parts and bring to workshop. It should be cheaper. Normally people uses NTN wheel bearing.. It should cost around rm180-200 a piece if replace both side + workmanship, i suppose you can get it done at around rm500. That is what I am willing to pay..

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ May 14 2021, 02:28 PM) today weather good and timing good. I drive out to outdoor parking in condo. try to spray clean my condenser. so much crud and dirt. damm satisfying effective or not, no need to say if I didn't dismantle anything it will not be that effective but I can see a lot of dirt got washed out. more than the first time I did about 3 years back. back then I did it in my parking lot and its a bit messy. if you want to do it, I suggest you do it on tarmac. where there is drain. this time I also dilute the solution less. Clean the exterior of the condenser will definitely help the cooling effect..

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ May 15 2021, 04:54 PM) Going strong.i believe. Today reached 132222. Lesser than yours. But today really can test out after wash. Wasn't raining whole night before. Today 7am drive out. Damm cold. Wind on first dial. Max coolness. Thats what i usually set. At noon able to keep that setting without feeling hot. Just nice. But im driving alone. Come sept. I have reached my initial target of driving 10 years with the car. At this rate and situation. Since i no longer required to drive to work (work from home set by company), planning to drive another 5 years as primary car) But i have started check online on what i want to buy next. Probably c or d segment toyota, second hand. My mileage is only 121k leh... My next car will be a Toyota Altis. That car looks damn nice. This City I will use for as long as possible and keep maintaining it. Seems there's still a lot of life in this current car and can go on for many more miles. Just to share with you guys.. I recently bought this spray wax.. Quite worth it I would say.. RM240 for 1 gallon or 3875ml.. Can use super long.. Previously I was using Turtle Wax Spray Carnuba wax which cost RM30 for 473ml. For the price of 8 bottles of Turtle Wax, it will cost me RM240 for the capacity of 3784ml. So getting the Meguair Synthetic X Spray wax 1 gallon bottle is much worth it. Outside is selling RM70 for 473ml.

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Jun 8 2021, 01:54 PM) wow..you took care of it... in my 10 years I only used it once. and I pumped may 3-4 times in it lifetime. I very scared when I need to pump it, coz spec say 420kpa if not mistaken, and the usual tyres only 220 kpa. thinking what options do we have. - still use it? but scared explode when I need to pump - buy 2nd hand tyre - buy new tyre Maybe can ask tyre shops if they can replace the spare tyre donut rubber...
