Thanks. I think I have not change mine atf filter.
Wonder why it didn't appear in the maintenance list. Do it really need to be changed? Em.... ...
*
I believe all filters require replacement. It just depends on how often.

Going Into 4th year of ownership, no repair to date.
Touch wood...
Except minor accident, got hit from behind.

I am not so lucky. From 5th year onwards, parts needed repair kept coming in:-

i) Master brake cyclinder replacement RM600;

ii) Cooling coil & expansion valve RM800;

iii) coolant leak due to throttle body hose RM20;

Just regular maintenance for me so far every 5k (apart from wear/tear stuff, tires, main headlight, wiper)

My car is now around 4 years and 150k millage+

Hope it can last for 250k without any major repairs.. haha.

p/s - I drive like an aunty, hopefully that helps with the longevity.  laugh.gif

I too drive like an aunty & has only clocked in 80,000 km after 6.7 years of ownership.

Bosch is having their warehouse sale at The School Jaya One. Some stuff that you could probably use for your City:

1. Bosch oil filter - RM5 each
2. Ecoplus wipers - RM15 for a pair
3. Clear Advantage wipers - RM45 a pair
4. Semi-synthetic 10w30 SN oil - RM60 for a 4L pack
5. EC6 horn - RM29.60

Some other stuff that was going for really cheap but I didn't really take note on prices would be:

1. Light bulbs, H4 etc
2. Spark plugs

I personally got the clear advantage wipers and 2 oil filters. Too bad no 5w30 fully synthetic on sale, only 5w40

Thanks for informing. However, I heard most items are out of stock.

Did you notice our city is very hard to start? you need to wait the beep beep sound stop or put in the seat belt only can start smoothly. if you turn ignition on straight away slot in the key sometimes is chocking. You will need to try another turn to start engine.....
is this normal? after 6 yrs? it was not like this
*
Car getting old is lidat lo... Have you replaced your spark plugs & battery as these may affect engine start up during cold.

spark plug replaced during 100K service. new battery....

Usually morning requires a bit more cranking due to cold. Once it's hot, the car will be easier to start.

My case is different. Cold start not a problem at all.
Only if I stopped for 5 minutes or so, fueling, atm, etc. The car became hard to start at first crank. Have to take out the key, turned in acc, and there you go. Though not happened frequently.
Heard that's norm for this gen city. Anyone have same issue?
*
Starter motor issue... i got mine replaced to Denso and never encounter that problem since.

Same here, cold start perfect every time. Stop at petrol pump and try to start car got 50% 50% chance it will fail to start.
Claim with Honda? Every-time I told them the problem they just clean the battery terminal since they say cannot replicate. Its very hard for me to replicate as well since its very random.
The starter motor normally is a huge ass motor like this

Back then when I complained to Honda back in 2011, they replaced my battery but problem still persist. I complained again and they replaced my starter motor. In fact, i receive a letter requesting me to send the car back to replace the starter motor. Never encountered starting problem ever since (especially when engine is hot).

I noticed the Denso motor are of better quality when you crank it. The sound is a lot different from the defective one.

Experience Honda mechanic will know City is plague with this issue. They just won't inform you due to whatever reason.

Hi Guys,
My wife City bought in 2011. The pre-facelift 5G model, it has the 'tek' 'tek' sound when going uneven road or cornering.

The origin of the sound is coming from the rear left somewhere near the petrol hose.
Anyone is facing this problem? Any remedy about it?
*
I know what's ur problem.. I encountered the same thing. Its actually the reclining seat. Try setting it down to the lowest step & the sound should go away.

Hi guys, considering to buy a used honda city 2011.
Any advice?
1. Service and msintenance cost
2. Spare part
3. Fuel consumption
4. Misc. things you'd want me to know
*
A well maintained Honda City of this model is very reliable & durable.. Fuel consumption is pretty good for a 1.5 liter car.

The only downside is 2011 model do not come with VSC.

Got it. Thx very much. Btw, where is this place at?
*
It's nearby Taman Sri Manja along Old Klang Road.

This shop is operated by a talkative old man and sometimes assisted by 2 of his school going sons.

You can ask him anything & he will share his experience on car air conditioning system works.
