Is it common issues for some slight noises frm suspensions when goin uneven roads? Jus got used 70k km,Gm6,7yrs, hardly run n parked at home most of the time.
*
Yes.. if you want to eliminate the noise, suspension parts need to be change like lower arms, absorbers etc.

My car seems to be losing coolant (about 50 ml every month).

I cannot find any leaks anywhere as there's no coolant residue sighted.

I don't think it is the head gasket as the engine oil and coolant is still in good condition.

Any of you faces the same issue?

Hi all

Has anyone here tried using Liqui Moly Klima Refresh to clean the air cond system on your Honda City? I’m having this musty damp cloth smell from air cond when switched on and I suspect it is bacteria or mold based on googling online. No smell when the air cond is not turned on.

Your cooling coil is dirty already and started to be mouldy.

Only way is to open up and clean the cooling coil.

Thank you yes it does look like it, but looking online seems like not a simple operation as several other parts need to be dismantled to get to the cooling coil.

Have you done anything like this so far on your city? I’m wondering if considering several items have to be dismantled if it’s better to just change the cooling coil or service other parts in the AC system.
*
I will give u a detailed recommendation.

Firstly, have you ever changed your colling coil before?

Reason I asked is to gauge whether an aircond service is enough, or better off replacing the cooling coil.

Normally cooling coil have a life span, in my case, each lasted exactly 7 years before it leaks refrigerant.

The leaking part, how do you know? What’s the symptom? I have not replace before.
*
When it starts to leak, you can sort of smell the refrigerant (smells like weird plastic chemical) when you turned on the aircond. After 1 minute, you won't smell it.

Within few days or weeks, your aircond will blow hot air later.

Thanks - cooling coil never replaced and car is from 2011.
No issues with cooling the cabin when air cond is turned on, just that it smells bad like damp cloth)

As a minimum I think need to service or check the air cond system
*
You can go and do an aircond service my removing the cooling coil and cleaning it.. When you do so, do inspect the condition of the coil as it is more than 10 years old and high chances it will leak refrigerant sooner or later..

Items to look out for is also the expansion valve and the receiver drier.

Where are you staying? I can recommend you my trusted aircond man if you are around Old Klang Road / PJ area.

Reminds me to check my coolant lol thanks.
Although mine become less and less over time and also based on the engine oil blotter thread, the TS there said my engine oil seems to be diluted with coolant, I still feel mine should be okay and “expected”

50ml a month seems excessive.
*
I found the leak.. seems like previously I changed the bottom casing but the installation of the casing gasket wasn't done properly, thus there are small leaks at rhat area. Will need to send back to the shop to get it repaired again.

finally my ac blower motor gave way.
the only problem is that it gave way just when i'm about to start my journey back from cameron to kl.
3 hours ride, in cameron keep raining, and on highway its cloudy, left the 1 hour remaining the weather is a bit more warm.

grateful the family doesn't complain much.

went to ming wah on monday. damage rm310, boss say need change filter coz dirty. usually i replace myself but was like wtheck nevermind la. give boss a bit more. rm20 only consider cheap by outside mechanic standard.

now very happy. feel like its colder now. maybe previously motor has already been spinning slower than new for a long time.

edit: wtheck, i still have 2 filters in stock at home lol.
*
Normally for AC blower, i will change the motor together with the resistor.

sold mine back in March this year, mileage clocked at 192k
jump ship to EV.

been contemplating to keep as backup car but stay in condo has limited carpark
and only me alone here so decided to sell off this car despite that it's low in maintenance.
*
Bad decision ever made.. 😝

Should have kept it as spare car as when EV have problems, most likely you can't the car.

Btw, maybe my starter getting weaker, did try to refurbish it at the often quoted Kwong Weng, then it was still a bit weak but improved. that time they suggest do the grounding cable thingy. and replace the battery it was 2-3 years old.

i replace battery after. after that memang lesser but still occasionally hard to start.

I think i'm getting/trying the grounding cable. was thinking to do it years ago. i guess i'll up doing it after all these years biggrin.gif

For starter, better change a new unit.
