Woops. Must've missed that. TV9 seems to be working now. Maybe the stream was down.

You'll need to run an EPG grabber like TVxb (super old and no longer supported) or WebGrab+Plus on PC, then have your Android box grab the file from the PC. That's how I'm doing it on the FireTV at the moment. THe same can be done with the channel logos. Makes it easier, esp if you have multiple boxes.

Yes, 1News seems to have stopped working for now. Even RTM's own website streamer is broken: http://m.rtm.gov.my/en/?page=playback&chan...g&device=tablet

NTV7 isn't working too but it can be fixed, albeit with a major PQ tradeoff: change

http://ntv7liveios-i.akamaihd.net/hls/live/205902/ios/ntv7live/master.m3u8

to

http://ntv7liveios-i.akamaihd.net/hls/live/205902/ios/ntv7live/master001.m3u8

It seems that the main master.m3u8 will try to invoke either master001 or master002 based on the speed reported by the PC or device, from what I can see master002 is broken at the moment. master001 is for low bandwidth (~200kbps) while master002 is for higher bandwidth (~1Mbps).

As for WebGrab+Plus, all good. I managed to work it out. I may try to create a tutorial over the next few days (although the problem is that there is no scraper for RTM website and the TM scraper is horribly broken, so the only working source is Assteruk, therefore no schedule data for Muzik Aktif, 1News and Parlimen TV).

Quick guide:
1. Install Mono
2. Install WebGrab+Plus
3. Install Astro scraper (todo: ask WG++ forum for RTM scraper and to fix TM scraper)
4. Tweak with the config file
5. Test Run
5a. Optional: Create a shell script for running the grabber manually.
6. Create anacron entry.

EDIT
1News seem to be working now. Need to double check when I get home. But the M3U8 is loading from VLC on my laptop now. Yesterday the M3U8 causes VLC to timeout.

EDIT2
Hmmm... NTV7 seems to be also working properly now- the M3U8 is also loading in VLC on my laptop now when it was causing timeout yesterday.

I wonder if it was due to network congestion. I will do more tests when I get home (meaning I need to rush home earlier today).

Layarku Awani still working, but i dont have any idea to decrypt their javascript to get the url

+1. I found a website that decrypts JS hex and ran the code through. After first pass still has hex, so did second pass. Second pass is clean in that there is no more hex, but the code still appears obfuscated >.>

You can try setting up a LVM SoftRAID using RPi, but the problem is that SoftRAID is handled entirely by the CPU instead of ASIC or co-processor. Performance may not be as good, especially if it involves two USB hard disks.

I am an extreme noob here about passthrough audio, all the while as long I am able to hear it correctly, it is ok. mind telling me what is passthrough is all about, thanks.
*
Normally when you output sound, it's converted to LPCM. Some equipment like TVs (ie the LG 32LW4500 TV I use) limits LPCM to 2 channel. So if you connect your PC or android box to the TV HDMI first then use the TV's ARC to feed sound to your HT amp, (or worse, feed sound to the amp via SPDIF or TosLink because the TV has no ARC support) maybe because the amp does not have enough HDMI ports and all ports are used, the amp will only get stereo sound. However the TV will have no problems pushing 5.1 or 7.1 sound to the amp via SPDIF, TosLink or ARC if it's in Dolby 5.1/7.1. This is where passthrough comes in handy- the TV will receive a 5.1/7.1 bitstream from the PC instead of LPCM, and will pass the signal to the HT amp. So the result is true 5.1 from the amp.

You don't have to worry if your setup consists of an amp that can receive 5.1/7.1 LPCM and the XBMC PC or box connects direct to it. Only when your XMBC setup consists of trying to pass a signal through a device that can't i.e. a TV that you have to worry about passthrough.

For example, in my case, my amp is a Philips Fidelio FTL9100 soundbar, both HDMI port is used (one by PS3, other by XBox 360). Media Center running XBMC is connected to TV HDMI port 2 (Port 1 is video from soundbar).

The 32LW4500 does not support ARC and thus has an optical line running into the soundbar. As mentioned earlier it will also only support stereo LPCM, but can pass 5.1/7.1 Dolby DTS directly from HDMI to optical. So sending it 5.1 LPCM from XMBC will only have the soundbar strangely playing back the front channel sounds, surround speaker and sub not working. Using passthrough, XBMC sends the DTS raw to the HDMI port, and the TV will detect it as raw DTS and pass it on through optical to the soundbar, which will decode it as 5.1 and all channels working.

Hmmm... is it possible to launch external program from XBMC? Since HyppTV has an Android app, it's just the case of launching the Android app in BlueStacks and then mapping the controls to the remote.

no ler... waste of time...

already tried astro-on-the-go and hypptv everywhere apps on androidtv direct... ya - mobile quality! biggrin.gif

can't expect them to be better via xbmc.

Hmmm... HyppTV Everywhere has both Tablet and Phone version. What if you install the tablet version instead of phone version? On my iPad, using the HyppTV for iPad version can usually get better PQ, which is important due to Retina resolution (2048x1536).
