I hope you understand my pointing the risk in buying DLady now.

I think the stock is about FAIRLY priced at about 47ish...

Dividends is not bad....

The risk is as everyone is taught, no business growth can grow forever one...
not possible lor....
so when the growth rates goes from EXPOSIVE GROWTH to NORMAL MINIMAL GROWTH (ie slows down drastically) ..
sometimes the market can react very negatively to the stock.

It's not about the stock fundamental is bad...
just the market mindset only....

best case for reference...
Look at TOP GLOVE.

It was once a stock with explosive growth...
one of the top in the world in its industry...
with explosive growth, top glove flew....
but once the explosive ended....
we all saw how the stock price came crashing down......... sweat.gif sweat.gif

anyway... this is a somewhat a risk assessment...
I hope you and JC get what I am trying to say...

Sometimes, u really need to cut loss. If free fall then all money gone. I always have a comfort level. Once it falls below that, I dump. No choice, cut loss better than lose all.

My opinions.

Law of numbers.

Company A's net profits is bigger of course and A is actually showing signs of growing its profits
Company B although very mickey mouse numbers (smallish), its profits are growing.

A of course stands for NTPM
B for Homer

And of course, as your rightly pointed out so, whether the companies can increase its profitability.
And you can only guesstimate after you do your own research on both of companies business model.

For example, what's driving Homer's growth, what's the current driving factor of NTPM's current good 'form'?

Then you can study dividends... the following are the dividends paid per 'fiscal year' (fiscal year and calender year not same. )

Company A
2010 - 2.9 sen
2011 - 2.9 sen
2012 - 2.9 sen
2013 - 2.9 sen
Company B
2010 - 5.1 sen -- shouldn't include this cos this was the first year after listing.
2011 - 2.25 sen
2012 - 3 sen
2013 - 3.75 sen
What do you see?
*
A hav a stable Div and profit -increase.
B always increase their dividend due to lack of growth? because using they cash to contribu to shareholder instead of capital expenses.
For risk averse may choose A
and rick seeker B

Correct me.
