What dahon is that? Boardwalk D8 has one lever for folding and one lever to adjust the height. I open the height adjuster, adjust it nicely n tighten the nut before locking.
it's Vigor p9 .. anyway i did the same way but this was more adjusting height of the stem .. my case is different ... i need to centered back the stem which lurch more to the right
Sometimes they do! But you will feel it if it does. If it does just adjust it back. Dahon handlepost do get loosen especially after hard bumps but not in all bikes though. For this you need a 6mm wrench and turn the small little nut a little bit (only if it is loose). The nut is the one inside the handlepost and you can see it after you fold the handlebar, there's a small nylon piece and a nut there. Don't touch it if there's nothing wrong though
Finally my Dahon frame arrived! Anyone interested in a Dahon Speed P27 Some old parts but mainly new parts. At last I can dispose off all the parts in one go!
If the shifter mechanism is out, you can actually take out the emergency bike tool (it's better to have one in your pouch) and then loosen the RD allen nut and adjust to an average gear (somewhere in between) and then tighten the cable clamping allen nut. Although it runs on single speed, at least it's not on the highest gear! You are the first person that I encountered with shifter malfunction. Another way is (if your bike tool have a chain breaker function), to break the chain and take the chain out of the RD cage and adjust the chain length to the middle cogs of the cassette and then rejoin the chain back when you change or repaired the shifters.
Someone should start a bike workshop for beginners. Some I know can't even repair a puncture!
I second you bro.. if we can organizea session on basic troubleshooting like tube replacement, chain related etc ... believe me ... many of us will eager to join..
-to get more rigid feel -to change handlebar type, like straight one to dropbar -to make the bike lighter?
the OEM setup does not feel rigid or it is just our hands itchy most of the time?
well.. after few round of cycles.. i have decided that i need to perform minor mods on my bike especially the gearing.. the feeling of the speed is not enough for me hi hi hi....
