Hi, did anyone receive similar email from Maybank before?

I called customer service today to enquire on Maybank 2 Cards Premier, officer transfer me to another hotline. After speaking to the Premier card department, the officer advise me to fill in the form and email in the full doc to apply. However, after a few hours, I receive the above email, I call in and the officer just ask me a few simple questions and ask me where do I prefer to collect my card? When I ask is my application approve? She told that have to wait for her supervisor, will contact me again next week.

Anyone have similar experience?
Worry it's a scam but the email address was a valid @maybank.com.my email

Thanks

I didn't say. I just asked for an increase to do some transactions. They also didn't mention or asked.

Should be a temporary increase
A permanent increase have to sign form and submit income documents.

Hi, first time post here. Got interested in this 2 card premier after reading genxyz blog.
However been applying and always get rejected, never know the reason. Finally decided to pledge FD last week, today finally got offer letter.

In the letter it was mentioned, if I intend to withdraw the FD, I need to give 3 months written notice. May I know what happen when my FD matures? Does it mean I have to informed them 3 months before FD matures?

Also, does that mean whenever near FD mature I need to go pledge new FD (since my FD is promo 5+5 FD, won't want to let it go to board rate)?

Have anybody after pledging FD, later write to them or "reapply" to make this card permanent ie no longer attached to FD? How do they reassess, via the amount you spend / prompt payment or resubmit new prove of income?

Thanks in advance for info.

Hi, May I know how you receive the offer letter? By mail or by email ?

If I already have an existing Fixed deposit with Maybank, can i just submit the fixed deposit cert to Maybank as pledge or have to uplift and re-placement as pledge ? I have existing fixed deposit with Promo Rate which is not yet mature.

Thanks in advance.

Mind to share how much FD that need to be pledge for the card? Many Thanks.

Pledge the different between your current Maybank CL to RM30k
Example if you currently have RM25K CL in your Maybank Visa Signature, you just have to pledge RM30K-RM25K = RM5K with fixed deposit

If you currently only have RM5K in your Maybank others credit card, then you need to pledge RM30K-RM5K = RM25K with fixed deposit

If you do not hold any Maybank Credit Card, amount to pledge for this card will be minimally RM30k

Hi, the offer letter was emailed to my branch relationship manager.

As I ended up didn't pledge fd, what I know is, yes you can pledge the fd. But when mature it will auto renew to board rate. If you want to uplift, according to the terms in the offer letter, you have to inform maybank in writing 3 months in advance.

Thank you so much smile.gif thumbup.gif

Hi, have anyone here hold a Maybank Manchester United Visa Infinite ?

This card earn you 5x TreatsPoints when Manchester United wins a Premier League Match.

I have one question regarding this card, take an example, Man U play Man City today on 10pm. If Man U win the game, the 5X TreatsPoints will start after the match or the whole Sunday transaction will entitle for the 5X treat point?

Anyone here have the exact answer?

Thanks in advance

I'm just pledge a FD for this card.
For those who also pledge FD for this card, your pledged FD interest instruction is add to principal or credit back to saving account?

Since the FD is pledge and cannot withdraw, I find no point for the interest to be add to principal , that why I go for the interest credit back to saving account instruction, but the renew instruction is still AUTO RENEW.

How much FD they asked you to pledge? 5k 10k 20k?
*
Haha
I can only say is worth to pledge
But the formula doesn't change, and I believe Maybank stand quite firm on this, which is minimum CL for Premier 2 card is RM30k.

So, just do a simple mathematic on your current Maybank CL to RM30k, that will be the amount that you require to pledge by FD

That's why I'm pledging but if the letter only valid for 1 month, I might miss out the date sad.gif

Yes, it only valid for one month stated in the offer letter.
Instead of waiting for the letter deliver via normal post, you might also call them and request them to email you the offer letter.

I received my offer letter via personal email.

THE TRUE Fastest Air Miles Conversion card in Maybank.
5X treat point for local and overseas spending.

Visa is also easier to use compare to AMEX.

Conversion rate is the same as 2 Card Premier 4770 TP - 1k miles

By the way, I realize one thing.
By right to pledge FD for credit card, there is a stamp duty payable,BUT when i pledge my FD to Maybank for this 2 Card Premier, the officer only ask me to sign tons of signature on the contract without ask me to pay a single cents.

Thanks for the advice that website is really informative for me.

I'm looking to maximise the Amex card since I don't know what are the merchants that support Amex.
*
I have the same concern with you, my annual spending is about 60-70k and hardly cross the 80k mark. I know that maybank is very strict on this annual spending and hardly to beg for waiver even you had already spend 70k on the card, to them 80k means really 80k.

After analyse my spending pattern, most of my AMEX transaction are only in petrol station, Aeon Big and some big purchase.

In this case, I decide to give up my Premier 2 card and apply for MU Visa Infinite. MU VI give me 5x TP on petrol and grocery. So problem 1 solve.

For others big purchase, I wait until MU win a premier league game then i go and purchase, earn me 5X TP as well. Problem 2 solve too.

In conclusion, base on my spending pattern, im not really worst off but even better off by only need to spend 50k for annual fees waiver.

So, knowing your spending pattern is very important when come to card selection.

For those of you who can't spend 80k annually to qualify for waiver, do you think it's still worth it to keep the card?
*
RM800 annual fees already wipe off all the benefits you get from them.
To me, if cannot qualify for waiver, should look for others card, no point to keep.
